I'd also like them to install the Honda subwoofer, and was quoted $525 for an installed price. This seems a bit steep to me. Is there much room for negotiation with add-on equipment such as the subwoofer or the factory wireless headphones for the rear entertainment system?
total out of the door is $30121?
is the $2000 rebate for paying cash for the whole car or finance it?
thanks,

They still tried to rip me off, but I stuck to my guns and got my price!!!!!!
Also, if there are any dealer installed items already on the car (ie, wheel locks, pin stripe, mud flaps, ) offer the dealer 50% of the list price and they will probably give in .
car price: 26260 including destination
tag transfer fee/title: $75
The sales person is friendly and professional. I don't like the finance manager though. Because the deal can't be combined with financing, the finance manager offered me a higher rate than what I can get from my credit union.
The finance manager also charged about $100 government doc stamp fee. My credit union said they don't charge any fee. I am not sure if this fee can be covered by the profit the finance manager made. What's your experience? I could back out and come back later with a loan from my credit union. I thought I should give the dealer some additional profit given that the dealer offered me a good price first. But at that point, I just wanted to finish the deal.
I would negotiate financing details before coming to dealers the next time I buy a car.
This Forum has been very helpful.
And the person doesn't seem to be eager to win my business even after seeing offers from other dealers.
I ended up buying one from another dealer. A good way to lose a customer.
Thanks for sharing the price details and your experience with Grand Honda.
I am planning to buy EX-L this weekend. Could you please give me the sales person name you dealt with.
Also did you take any finacing from the dealer ?
Thanks for the help!

Thanks
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have confirmed from dealers in Omaha and Lincoln Nebraska and KC that the $2000 factory to dealer incentive is in place here. They also seem quite willing to pass it on.

Does anyone know if there is much wiggle room in email offers received from dealers or are they usually pretty firm on this price?
The best OTD price for an EXL I have gotten is $27,284 + TTL. I was hoping to pay invoice minus the $2000 incentive (28,600 - 2000 = $26,600). Is this reasonable?
Thanks for any input.

Thank you,
This will be my first time buying a new vehicle and it seems the Internet is the best way to go once you decide on a model. I live in the Atlanta area with many dealers to choose from. Should I e-mail each dealer separately asking for their best drive out price including any dealer fees? Also, we plan on trading in so how is this handled via the Internet?
Are the quotes the dealers send negotiable, or is it really their best price?
Also, it appears that the cash rebate I've been reading of isn't available here. Would it be best for us to wait until next month to make our puchase?
Thanks very much for any advice.
I got a quote for EX Out the door price for ($24584+TTL) $26725 (everything included), if I want to do 60 months financing the lowest APR will be 6.34% (with credit score higher than 720), this means my monthly payment will be $528.41.
If I want the 4.9%, then the price for the same car will be $28300, in this case my monthly payment will be $532.76
The difference is only $4, I see no advantage at all, unless you have enough cash to pay.
Has anyone in Florida be able to get the cash incentives and low finance APR
Van price is very negotiable. Destination, fees tax and licensing are not. I requested quotes from all metro Atlanta dealers; 12 responded. Do it all by email (phone when you are close). I sent some through dealer websites, some through honda.com and some through edmunds.
Beat em up on price - they are eager to get the 07s off the lot. Make sure you clarify the drive-out price - most will throw in a few gotcha accessories.
Here's basically what I paid last weekend for an 07 ex-l.
$25,692.00 Includes Splash Guards, Wheel Locks, Cargo Tray, Paint Sealant
+ $595 Destination Charge
+ 399.00 Processing and Prep fees
+ 1,868 Sales tax - 7%
+ 21.00 Registration
$28,575 TOTAL
Once you get the van offer, print it out, make an appointment and head in. They won't talk trade until you visit the dealer, so come prepared to haggle on it.
At least THREE Atlanta area dealers were willing to MATCH this price. I think you might be able to go even lower - especially if you play hardball with the trade.
Top to bottom GREAT buying experience, and a decent deal to boot on a great van. Thanks to everyone in the Odyssey forum.
Did you have to haggle much with the price you were quoted via e-mail?
Thanks again.

Once you start getting quotes, start haggling via email. Tell em you know about the incentive, so you need their best price or you'll move on. Every time I got a response and asked a question, the price dropped. Once they started being reasonable I started returning their phone calls. If you don't care about color, I bet you can come very close to 25000 + destination + fees + tax/title/lemon law fee for an 07 ex-l.
Once they get to your price and you understand what dealer added accessories are on the van, then tell them what color you want, ask if they can have it ready tomorrow and get some research on your trade. Edmunds, Autotrader.com, cars.com, etc can give you a ballpark. Go ahead and get a quote from Carmax, too.
Have fun!
They need to get them off the lot so the 08s can be brought in, which won't have nearly the discount.
An earlier post suggested 26200. Stick to your guns and you might be able to beat that price.
thanks

Thank you for your information. I am in bay area and trying to buy an Odyssey EX-L RES. Is your price of $27,538 inclusive of destination charges, document fee, etc? What other charges did you pay on top of $27, 538?
Thanks
But you know, I asked the salesman and he said he'd be willing to sell to anyone at this price. Email me for more info: af1914 at gmail dot com.
Good luck!
I am interested in a EX-L that is brand new, but got ran into by a drunk driver on the dealership lot. They will not budge on the price too much, but other dealers said they should be taking a price cut because it was damaged, though repaired be honda. What realistic price should we pay for an EX-L that had front damage repaired, but it is brand new, never titled.
Thanks so much
I could have gotten a similar deal in Chicago for around $26700 but local deal promises free tires , etc, etc. Who knows what the best deal is. Basically, it seems that any price around $3000 below invoice is a good price.
Sale Price - $33,600 + TTL
8yr/120k warranty with zero deductible - $1500
Lo jack - $500
Protection Pack - $500
This was the lowest price I could get. I had 2 dealers, Grace Honda in San Bruno and Serramonte Honda in Daly City go back and forth with the price until one couldn't beat the other's price (went with Grace Honda). I had no need for the LoJack but the dealer had to make a profit somehow. The internet guy is willing to compromise and work with your needs. This is the 2nd time I've negotiated deals in the internet, and have been satisfied each time.
Should I be getting 25k for an EX-L "New" but damaged, but was repaired van? Does that seem like a good deal? I am going to offer today and don't want to look silly. or lower?
Thanks!
