    i just walked aways from the deal of OTD of $31200.00

    mine does inlcude $499 dealer fee plus 7% tax and 22 tag fee

    I've received two offers in the San Diego area for an '08 Touring at $500 over invoice. One dealer's price is $37,624 (including destination), with an MSRP of $41,245.

    OK -- as promised earlier, here's the OTD quotes (includes destination & TTL) I received from Boston area dealers for a new 2007 EX-L:

    Curry Honda:28,000

    Lungren: 29,716

    Bernardi: 27,999

    Honda Store: 28,356

    Majestic (RI): 27,640

    Honda Village: won't give OTD -- I don't recommend you even consider this dealer.

    Boch Honda: 27,089 (the best price) I bought here and broke this price down in earlier post

    Clair: 28,476

    Cambridge Honda: 27,640

    Atamian Honda: 27,973

    Honda cars of Boston: 27,657

    Herb Chambers Westborough: 27,600

    I got a quote through Costco's program at Jay Honda in the Cleveland area.
    It was:
    $26,563 (incl dest fee)
    $1809 6.75% OH tax (tax is calculated w/DOC fee)
    $250 OH Doc fee
    $25.50 Plates/registration

    TOTAL: $28648.00

    I brought that quote to our local dealer - Roush (a Columbus area dealer)and got

    $26,550 (incl Dest fee)
    $250 OH DOC fee
    $125 Convenience plus (7 years of loaner cars during service)
    $1817.44 OH tax 6.75% (calculated on DOC fee and Convenience plus)
    $10.50 temporary tags
    $5.00 New Title fee.
    TOTAL: $28,757
    Cheaper by $13, I get service loaners (although I am shackled to this dealership) and I don't have to drive two hours to Cleveland, Hooray!

    BTW: When I looked at my car in the remote lot at Roush on 10/29 I saw at least one 2008 Odyssey (the dealer told me it was a 2008)
    She said "they arrived earlier than expected". They are in Westerville Ohio.
    The Dealer at Jay Honda (in Cleveland) said that 2008 Odysseys wouldn't be there for 8 weeks and he only had a 6 week supply of cars, therefore Honda might not offer incentives in November. Hmmmmmm...

    Can anyone confirm with certainty if Honda is going to offer the $2,000 back (or more) on Odysseys in November?

    Or what is the normal trend that car makers show in these types of incentives? Logic would dictate that they would continue to offer it until they deplete the old inventory.

    Any confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

    The lowest offer I got last week was $30,200 (base price + dest. fee) from almost all the dealers in bay area. And over the weekend I went to couple of dealers to see if they can beat the lowest price. Even though they said they will beat other dealer prices in writing when I showed the price they said no way they can do it. The price I got from these dealers is almost $500-$750 more than what I got.

    I'm sure this week it might be totally different ball game. I think I saw $28400 (for EX-L with RES & NAV) as the lowest price on this board last week. So compare what you got with other postings and see if you are near to those. One thing is for sure is Bay Area prices are higher than VA and Chicago.

    only prob is with the incomplete prices.

    if $28400 is before destination.. than that is what i have.

    so $28400 add $635 destination add $499 doc fee and 7% tax.

    so i took this price around $ 31,601.38 and stuck to my price

    31,000.00 .... after almost 2 hour .. the sales person never said no... even his manager and it went all the way up to GM of the dealership.

    walked out offering 31,100.00 got a call saying will do at 31,200 OTD

    the reason for me to walk out is i got all confused about the price and everything. I wasn't sure if i was getting the best deal.

    From what i understand is that if you get a INTERNET DEPARTMENT price quote there is only so less they can offer.

    $28,000 out the door. Made up of $26, 100 base price plus $635 freight/destination plus tax (3% in VA), tags, and fees. EX-L with RES from Hendrick Honda.

    The L in EX-L stands for leather. So their quote should include Leather because it is an EX-L.
    Learning the language of each car takes time. I found the Odyssey brochure helpful to refer to:)

    irk is correct. Ours is a new EX-L with RES or "Rear Entertainment System" (DVD) in Silver. The "L" does stand for leather interior.

    No sneaky business at all in this deal. Hendrick emailed me the best quote, answered all of my questions, we drove up Monday around lunch, finished the deal, and drove home a few hours later with our new Ody.

    Thanks, I should have known that. Got a quote today on EXL w/RES for $29,347 which seems way out of bounds based on the quote on this forum. Would like to get the $26,100 range as other have quoted. I'll have to go back and get more quotes from the area. I did get a pretty good quote on an 07 Odyssey w/RES I believe of $32,125. Trying to decide if the Touring is worth it at this point. PAX stuff still worrying me.

    I got an offer Saturday for an 07 Ody Touring R/N with mud flaps, wheel locks, and stripes: $33k plus $350 doc fee. The offer is valid with or without trade. They offered me $26.5k for my 06 Ody Touring R/N with 35k miles and bald PAX tires. I wasn't ecstatic about the trade, but I really don't want to spend $1200 on tires and another $200 for detailing before I can sell it privately. The dealer is trading for it to get my exact colors...

    Any thoughts on the offer?

    The following information was included in a CR price service sheet I recently ordered for the Ody - these are the holdback amounts, which I found helpful to bring up in discussions with dealers (above and beyond the $2k dealer incentive). I understand the holdback percentage of MSRP may be closer to 2% now as compared to 3% in the past (these figures reflect 3%):

    LX: $769
    EX: $861
    EX-L: $933
    EX-L w/RES: $981
    EX-L w/NAV: $1,047
    Touring: $1,107
    Touring w/RES-NAV: $1,173

    Hendrick offered me 2007 Touring with Nav and RES for $32660 + taxes etc

    Out of the Door $34754
    which includes VA sales tax of 3.12%

    Richmond dealers dont want to even come close to the price. Pearson honda wants $37654 out of the door for the same van which is close to $3000 difference.

    Just a quick thought regarding the purchase of a vehicle outside of your home state, as this is a popular thing to do when living in a 'border' town like I do (Vancouver, WA). In Washington state, the 'lemon' laws for a vehicle purchase have recently been updated and are more stringent than for neighboring Oregon. Not that most Honda's are considered 'lemons', but just a thought to consider if pricing is very close and one of the states has better consumer protection laws than another.

    I have been thinking about buying an odyssey for some time now. Is the best time to buy now (like today) or wait closer to the end of the year. I want the touring with res/nav. I saw the posting about Hendrick Honda and I actually live close to that dealer. With the price that was just posted it sounds like a great deal.

    Does it just matter of which state you register your car? If you register in OR, there is no sales tax, but I guess you will need to pay sales tax for WA, and so you get more protection :-)

I received quotes from most of the major dealers in RTP, but finally purchased from Crown Greensboro, although vehicle actually was located at Crown Southpoint in Durham. I realize this purchase was almost 30 days ago, but feel free to ask if you have any additional questions.

    In general, 07 inventory on tourings is getting low. Normally, I'd suggest getting firm quotes, etc. via email and then pulling the trigger after all details are worked out. If you have a good idea of a solid OTD price from the Hendricks dealer, today's probably the only day I'd suggest going in, driving the exact car you would buy and then making a firm final offer to purchase for your target price. (because it's last day of the month) I'd suggest setting all emotion aside and be prepared to walk if they won't give you the good price that you know others have gotten. Sometimes dealers will not honor that "best price" unless you hit the internet dept. first (they pay commission differently on a walk-in vs. internet) Get the internet guys info at Hendrick, call him and set up an appointment for this afternoon. That way you avoid that story "sorry can't go that low unless internet". Also have financing procured or don't go more than 6% if you have reasonable credit. (they won't honor the honda 2.9 or 4.9 Plus the rock bottom price) If your a non emotional buyer go for it. Otherwise, start your email process and do something in November. You might mention to the internet guy that you have a mutual friend that got qouted the $34 and change price noted above (make sure you note RES AND NAV). That if they give you that, you'll come on in to purchase. Reach out to the internet guy first though or you have a chance of blowing it by being a walk-in. Again, screws up their commission and creates issues.

    with 7% tax we are about 200 above that price.

    TMV on those are for my area and color are $28,985.00 Plus $499 dealer fee and 7% tax

    $2k will still be heard, so I've heard.

    Haven't confirmed, but even after today, they're going to have a lot of inventory left and the need to move them will be only more actute, until supply dwindles.

    We may make a run at the end of Nov, if I can still find the color I want. Just not prepared to do it right now.

    It seems right for Richmond, but you could do better. That is $3000 higher than my $28K out the door for EX-L with just RES. The NAV isn't a $3K accessory.

    Best offer I had in Richmond was Colonial, at about $29K. West Broad came in about $29,700. Pearson didn't provide me a price over the internet, but I emailed the lady to give her a shot since they are local. She told me the $28K was a GREAT price and wished me good luck. :)

    From this 10 day buying experience, it was 100% worth the drive up to Woodbridge to save $$$.

    Well I did it today. Got the EX-L w/RES. Base price was $27,281.00 plus our 6% sales tax in MI and a $99.00 doc fee. All together it came to $29,045.80. I tried beating up several local dealers and a few that were about an hour drive and this was the best I could get. Just before I went into the dealer, I called the other place that came close to this offer and said this is the price I am about to write a check for can you do better and they said no. I actually walked out of the dealership I bought the van from because they offered me a low price on my trade-in. I hoped they were either going to come and get me before I left or call right after I left, but they didn't....hahaha (egg on my face). I went back and did the deal about an hour later.

    So for my area that seems to be the best price. Pankajnawal, thanks again for sending me the info you had. Hope this can help someone.

    As I understand it, your state of residence is not necessarily the determining factor in regard to lemon law protection -- I've looked at Oregon's lemon law, and it states it only applies to vehicles purchased in Oregon. I imagine Washington's law is similar.

    I finally did it. I found out from more than one dealer that 2000 rebate will NOT continue to Nov---So i pulled trigger today while it was still on.
    Didn't get a smoking deal, but I had to move fast...
    EX-L Slate Green
    26,800 final price including dest.
    2,245 (nyc tax 8.375%)
    212 MV Fees
    12 Tire fee of some sort
    ----------
    29,269 OTD

    Used eloan btw
    was quick and easy

    I bought EXL with RES today in south texas. We have only two local dealers here the third one is 225 miles away so I had to deal with those two only. I requested quotes for 30 plus dealer with in 400 miles radius. Best deals I got for EXL with RES was 28400 out the door price from couple of dealers in houston.

    After very tough bargaining I could not get local dealer to match that price. I finally settled for 29300 out the door price for EXL with RES. I felt like I was still 500 dollars more that what I should have paid but the lack of more dealer in close proximity and my unwillingness to drive 350 plus miles -- I think I did OK. I got 5.8% apr on financing throught honda.

    Can anybody point me to good place to get hondacare extended plan?

    After tons of research and competitor pricing, bought my EX today at Tracy Honda in the Bay Area. I can't say the final number because I promised I wouldn't but it was at least as good as the numbers I've seen on this forum. The guy I dealt with was Mike Bruckner -- really nice, very laid back, not pushy. They seemed to have many EXLs in stock, as well as EXs and Tourings. --Dan

    They lie because they want you to buy then and there. I've already gotten emails from dealers this morning honoring yesterday's price.

    Such posts illustrate the inherent problem with merely giving an OTD price - they are pretty meaningless without details.

    For instance, if I traded my '05 Touring on an '07 EX-L R&N, the OTD price would probably be fairly close to this because of the sales tax credit on trades in Ohio would take care of about $1500 in taxes.

    I checked with my local Honda dealership (in Vancouver, WA) and they indicated the incentive is still being honored on the '07 Odys -- not sure if it is now an 'unofficial' incentive since I already had a quote from last week (I indicated it would be a deal breaker if they couldn't honor it). The website http://www.costcoauto.com/research/incentives/default.aspx no longer reflects the incentive, as it did yesterday.
