$34,032 (+ TTL and dealer BS ppw fee) for a 2010 with RES and NAV in Arizona. I want to buy before the end of the month to take advantage of the low APR. Any help and advice is appreciated.

I purchased my 2009 Ody EX on June 30 for $23,690 + TTL plus 2.9% APR for 36 months. My ODT is $25,780. Back then there was no C4C program yet. The dealer is John Holtz Honda in Rochester, NY.

You bought your Honda when there were good cash incentives and it was end of the month and quarter. You did good.

Pohanka honda of Fredericksburg denied this first then admitted later

After going back and forth with the 2010 model, I settled on a 2007 Certified Odyssey touring with Nav with 34K miles for $26,200 + Tax&TTL. I also got a 3.89% APR from the dealer. I was looking into EX-L with RES/NAV and the lowest I could get was $34,000 + Tax/TTL. I saved 8K and since it is certified, I get warranty till 100K. What do you guys think?
  • kiblet1kiblet1 Member Posts: 1
IMHO - you'll regret your decision once you need to replace your PAX tires on the Touring (unless it has already been de-PAXed)
  • nobonobo Member Posts: 305
I think the dealer made a good sale.

I booked 2010 EXL/RES with $500 advance on 11/07/09 in Detroit Suburb, requested van with less than 50miles in odometer meaning that I dont want demo or test driven vehicle. Dealer says that Dark Cherry is rare color and I will have van by 12/16. Dealer also says that there are buyers waiting 3 to 6 weeks for van, If I need it in urgent dealer bring the van that has few hundred miles in odometer from another place. I'm not sure what to do or to wait until 12/16. Is it common?

Good availability of Honda Odyssey vans in my area of SW Ohio. What is so special about the one you are awaiting?

    Hi, everyone,
I am looking at a 08 EX-L trim, it has 22k miles on it and dealer ask for 25k, is it a good deal? Thanks.
  • baskarbaskar Member Posts: 4
Nothing special. Waiting for 2010 exl/res, Dark cherry exterior. Dealer says that they can bring one from Ohio but van will have couple of hundreds miles. I dont want 100+ miles. I'm paying 34455 otd. I dont find exl with dvd in Detroit area.If I can find similar deal I will cancel the order

    Hi,

I am getting 2010 Odyssey EXL w RES OTD for # 32641.75. Can you tell me the pricing? Is it too high or low?

    Thanks,
    M
  • baskarbaskar Member Posts: 4
My price (34450 otd) is 1800 more than your price 32641.75 otd for odyssey 2010 exl/res
  • nobonobo Member Posts: 305
When you talk OTD the pricing is difficult to compare. Each state, county, etc. has taxes and fees that are different that other locations.

Better to say MSRP is xxx and I am buying for xxx plus tax title and fees.

Does anybody know what I can expect to pay for an Odyssey Ex -L in the san francisco bay area?

Also, when is the 2011 model is expected and will there be any big changes

Congrats on your purchase. I am also looking for certified Honda Odyssey. Is the price stated on certified Honda vehicle website a final price OR is it negotiable? If yes then how much lower do dealers usually go for certified Odysseys? Thanks.

jyx, could you list which dealer and what options are included in your purchase? Thanks!

Hi, I've used this board extensively in my search and thought it to be useful. I just recently bought an Odyssey '10 EX-L w/ RES for 31K+710 dest + 400 doc fee + TTL ~ 35.2k. Dealer tried to add another fee called PDI (pre-driving inspection fee), never heard of this fee ever. Has anyone else heard of it? spent about 10 minutes negotiating on this fee and they finally dropped it. w/ the 1250 incentive i figured the profit to be about 800-900 to dealership. rule of thumb that I heard was to assume about 3% of invoice for profit so that's right around there. think there was someone several posts ago that got an EX for 23k, which is a steal.
  • amaaamaa Member Posts: 8
Which dealer were you refering to ?
  • pjonkheerpjonkheer Member Posts: 22
What dealer? I am about to lease one this week as well in the Chicago area and need a good dealer.

How much above or below invoice was your price?

    Thanks!

Same here.. I'm looking to buy a 2010 EXL w/ RES and I have recv'd quotes of 31706+710= $32,416. (Invoice price + Destination fee). However, I'm trying to find out if I can get it at Below invoice price. Has anyone recv'd quotes for EXL w/ RES below invoice price?
  • manfed1manfed1 Member Posts: 2
think the 09 incentives can be applied to 10 as well. pm me for dealership info: manfed1@yahoo.com
  • robbygrobbyg Member Posts: 61
No dealers here in Los Angeles are applying the $1250 to 2010 models. As of today the only incentives on 2010 models are the 1.9/2.9% APR and the LX special lease. Waiting for December 1 to see what is in store for EOY.

After dealing with many dealers I'm ready to put a deposit on the 2010 Odyssey Touring for $36696 (MSRP $41465) $ 916 below invoice, w $ 5000 down monthly comes to $ 627 a month in NY area. Is this a good deal or should I wait?
    Need some input...

I took delivery on a 2010 Odyssey EX-L with RES this week and couldn't be happier. I did a ton of research and had several competitive bids (in writing) which helped in negotiations. I was willing to travel a couple hours to find a good deal so I looked around quite a bit to find the best deal. I live near Des Moines, Iowa and ended up purchasing from my local dealer. They were willing to beat the lowest bid I brought to them by a couple hundred bucks.

I also purchased and extended warranty through Honda Care for 7 years/80,000 miles. College Hills Honda had the best rates I could find for a Honda Care warranty. Their web site is www.collegehillshonda.com. Thankfully, my dealer matched the price so I purchased from my local dealer. If your dealer can't match their price, you can buy from them over the phone with a credit card (even after you take delivery). They were very friendly and also had some great deals on accessories. If you plan on keeping your van for more than 3-4 years, I would highly recommend the extended warranty. Especially since it's transferable (prorated of course) if you don't use it up.

Here is a breakdown of what I received from my local dealer:
    Vehicle Purchase Price: $32,135.71
    Sales Tax (5%): $1606.79
    Title: $25
    License Fee: $400
    Doc Fee: $185
    Delivered Price: $34,352.50
Service Contract (Honda Care): $760 (7 years, 80,000 miles)
    Out The Door Price: $35,112.50

I also received 2.9% APR financing for 60 months. For the week or so that we've had the van, we can't be happier. It rides great, it's comfortable and very kid friendly. We have owned quite a few vehicles in the past and keep going back to Honda's after trying other brands. We love the way they drive, the resale value, total cost of ownership and definitly their looks.

We looked quite a bit at the Town and Country as well as the Sienna. We liked the price, looks and some of the features of the T&C, however the resale value is terrible and it's not near as comfortable. In additon, we are turning in an 06 Chrysler Pacifica and their paint quality is very poor. The Sienna was very competitive, however it came down to looks. The Odyssey my opinion just looks better. In addtion, the Sienna packages and options were a bit confusing.

We are very pleased with our purchase. You can't go wrong with a Honda. I hope this post helps anyone looking for an Odyssey. Good luck.

Dealer offered 7yr / 80,000 for $1400 for the 2010 odyssey , is buying the extended warantee worth it?
  • sthornton77sthornton77 Member Posts: 4
NO. Buy from College Hills Honda. $770 for 7 years, 80,000 miles. Their web site is www.collegehillshonda.com.

I am going to buy 2010 EX in a few weeks. The best OTD I received by email is $29900. What should my target OTD price be? Is $28000 reasonable? NJ area. Thanks a lot!
  • 999tang999tang Member Posts: 3
It sounds a great deal. What area are you in and what is the Tax rate? I am looking for a EX-L. My target price is $29500 including destination. Is it reasonable? Thank you for your information

Hi pjonkheer, you mentioned you were thinking of leasing one from a Chicago dealership? Have you already bought one? I'm also in Chicago area and I've gotten some good prices that I'd like to share dealership names and sales agents with you if you're interested. I'm about to buy a 2010 Ody EXL w/ Res myself. I'm waiting out a few more days. Email me at accord75@yahoo.com.

Not a very competitive price. I got the Honda Care 7yr/80K with zero deductible for $850 on a new Ody Touring at Baierl Honda near Pittsburgh Pa.

I believe you can save $100 on the price by opting for the $100 deductible but the way I looked at it, the 1st time I needed it I was even if the repair was over $100 and in the case whenever the repair was less than $100 it was covered with nothing out of my pocket.

Thanks for the info, I called this morning and they told me for 7/80000 the price is $ 860. I'm going to get it when I pick up the new odyssey on friday.
    Thanks again!! :):)

I've gotten some quotes on a 2010 EXL RES & NAVI from dealers in Atlanta, GA. Her eis the best I have recdeived

    Base + Dest Fee: $33,499.00
    Admin/Document Fee: $599.75
    Tax (7%) GA: $2,387.00
    Title & License: $21.00
    OTD: $36506.75

Let me know what you think? Is this a good deal? Can I do better?

    Thanks for your help
  • mugenex6mugenex6 Member Posts: 33
I don't know if the car price quote is good. I've only been looking at EXL's w/ RES. But.. Doc Fee of $599? I'll only pay $50 to $100 MAX (my decision depends on the how well they treated me and what accessories they are throwing in, and how great of a deal im getting, but thats the MAX I'll ever pay). Theres nothing that says you have to pay that fee. Theres no law that keeps the dealers from charging you that amount either. Its negotiable, and if they say its not, move on. Thats a ridiculous amount. They are already making $ from the sale and technically dont need that fee but its become common for dealers to charge anyways. Some states do have a law that says whats the max a dealer can charge.

Is this with or without RES?

If it is without RES, I think you are in the ballpark but could probably come down a little more. I am currently shopping for the EX with RES and would like to know how you do and what model you are getting.

I was offered $29,600 plus tax and tags for EX with RES. This is the best offer I received.
  • ramchari111ramchari111 Member Posts: 2
I got two quotes that are around $800 and $1000 over invoice.. Can i do better?
  • dislabdislab Member Posts: 10
I am looking for EX without RES. $29600 for EX with RES? that means for EX without RES, it should be around 28000. I am not good at any negotiation, but need to talk to dealer soon. Any recent purchase of EX without RES? really need a reference price.
  • slynchslynch Member Posts: 8
We just received a quote for $28,143 plus $89 processing, tax, tags and $710 freight for Slate Green 2010 EX with RES.

This seems to good to be true. Please share your thoughts.
  • dislabdislab Member Posts: 10
if you are at NJ, then total will be about (28143+710)81.07 + 89 + 300(dmv) = 31261. it sounds to me a reasonable quote, but I feel there is space to reduce further.

Just visited a dealer in the Philly area; spent way too long. Was very interested in a good deal on an '07 Touring RES/NAV (32K miles, $26500), but the good deal became an only ok deal when you count the cost of de-PAXing the Touring (~$1000-1800 plus cost of tires and labor). (I hadn't realized it had PAX... ugh)

Was offered (but did not take) $35000 (including destination, not other taxes/fees) for a 2010 EXL w/ RES & NAV (pretty good, though not excellent I think), and ~$33425 for a 2010 EXL w/ RES (not as good; I was expecting ~$2K less than the EXL RES+NAVI).

OTD prices would be higher (title, tax (6%), probably a few fees), but we didn't get to that point.
  • jyxjyx Member Posts: 8
$35K for EX-L w/ RES&NAV is definitely high. I was quoted $34K at first try, which I thought was high.
  • jesupjesup Member Posts: 5
Got quotes from several other dealers on EX-L RES/NAV - all the first-time "best" quotes were 500-700 higher (average around $356xx, including destination charge). Some dealers simply didn't have any to sell until later next week. Ended up buying one from a much nicer, larger dealer who was willing to match that first quote (just under $35K, with destination included -- no other silly fees, just tax + state registration/etc). OK, one silly fee - $120 for doc prep, which isn't that bad in total amount, and with a young (<2 y.o.) child well past nap time I decided it wasn't worth spending the time to do anything about it.

Made use of the 1.9% financing (ends in a few days) - cheap money.

    Final: $34995 + ~$2250 tax + $2xx reg/fees/etc + $120 doc prep.

A reporter is looking to speak to a consumer who purchased on Honda because of its strong resale value (or ability to hold on to its value). Please send your daytime phone number and the car you purchased to ctalati@edmunds.com by Wednesday, December 2, 2009.

4 miles on the OD, dark cherry red with ivory leather EX-L w/o nav or entertainment (both can be had in smaller versions for around $300 btw) mud flaps, sunroof wind deflector, wheel locks, material protector, etc for $30,800. This price included the $249 document fee. I did zero haggling in person, all work was done by reading this message board, watching this 5 min youtube video (how to buy a car w/o getting screwed) and sending about six emails.

Oklahoma tax is $1,101 and tag will run $110. Total out of pocket for the van will be $31,911.

    Edmunds rocks!
