Need some input...
I also purchased and extended warranty through Honda Care for 7 years/80,000 miles. College Hills Honda had the best rates I could find for a Honda Care warranty. Their web site is www.collegehillshonda.com. Thankfully, my dealer matched the price so I purchased from my local dealer. If your dealer can't match their price, you can buy from them over the phone with a credit card (even after you take delivery). They were very friendly and also had some great deals on accessories. If you plan on keeping your van for more than 3-4 years, I would highly recommend the extended warranty. Especially since it's transferable (prorated of course) if you don't use it up.
Here is a breakdown of what I received from my local dealer:
Vehicle Purchase Price: $32,135.71
Sales Tax (5%): $1606.79
Title: $25
License Fee: $400
Doc Fee: $185
Delivered Price: $34,352.50
Service Contract (Honda Care): $760 (7 years, 80,000 miles)
Out The Door Price: $35,112.50
I also received 2.9% APR financing for 60 months. For the week or so that we've had the van, we can't be happier. It rides great, it's comfortable and very kid friendly. We have owned quite a few vehicles in the past and keep going back to Honda's after trying other brands. We love the way they drive, the resale value, total cost of ownership and definitly their looks.
We looked quite a bit at the Town and Country as well as the Sienna. We liked the price, looks and some of the features of the T&C, however the resale value is terrible and it's not near as comfortable. In additon, we are turning in an 06 Chrysler Pacifica and their paint quality is very poor. The Sienna was very competitive, however it came down to looks. The Odyssey my opinion just looks better. In addtion, the Sienna packages and options were a bit confusing.
We are very pleased with our purchase. You can't go wrong with a Honda. I hope this post helps anyone looking for an Odyssey. Good luck.
I believe you can save $100 on the price by opting for the $100 deductible but the way I looked at it, the 1st time I needed it I was even if the repair was over $100 and in the case whenever the repair was less than $100 it was covered with nothing out of my pocket.
Thanks again!!
Base + Dest Fee: $33,499.00
Admin/Document Fee: $599.75
Tax (7%) GA: $2,387.00
Title & License: $21.00
OTD: $36506.75
Let me know what you think? Is this a good deal? Can I do better?
Thanks for your help
If it is without RES, I think you are in the ballpark but could probably come down a little more. I am currently shopping for the EX with RES and would like to know how you do and what model you are getting.
I was offered $29,600 plus tax and tags for EX with RES. This is the best offer I received.
This seems to good to be true. Please share your thoughts.
Was offered (but did not take) $35000 (including destination, not other taxes/fees) for a 2010 EXL w/ RES & NAV (pretty good, though not excellent I think), and ~$33425 for a 2010 EXL w/ RES (not as good; I was expecting ~$2K less than the EXL RES+NAVI).
OTD prices would be higher (title, tax (6%), probably a few fees), but we didn't get to that point.
Made use of the 1.9% financing (ends in a few days) - cheap money.
Final: $34995 + ~$2250 tax + $2xx reg/fees/etc + $120 doc prep.
Thanks,
Chintan
