Looking to lease a 2010 Odyssey EX-L. They are selling them around invoice and leasing with 51% residual and .00139 money factor but no incentives are currently available through Honda. Inventory seems to be pretty low.

Need some expert advice....should I wait until January 5th to see if they will offer some incentives or could the residual, MF, potentially get worse with the calendar year changing over? Nobody has a crystal ball, but what would you do if you were in my shoes?

If I end up pulling the trigger now and they roll out some rebates or 0% financing I will not be a happy camper!

    Thanks in advance!

Nobo, thank you for your reply...sorry for the late repsonse.. Demo is a 2010

If you can wait till Jan 5, why not wait till February when the 2011 Sienna is hitting Toyota dealers lots. Newer technology and styling. YMMV. Especially since Honda isn't really dealing.

Would it make sense to buy it now at this price?

$25000 (invoice + dest) + $400 (documentation + registration) + tax. What exactly is the documentation fee?

    Hi All,

I live in Bay Area, CA. Does anyone can give me any idea what is the reasonable OTD price for this van in the Bay Area? Can anyone suggest a dealer also? I am very shy to negotiate with dealers. Shall I wait till Jan or Feb? I know very little on how to buy a car.
    Thanks in advance.

Concord Honda accepted an offer for EX-L with RES/NAV for 35k back on 11/9/09. You could check it out at autobrag.com. Searc prices, under accepted braggle. The nice thing about autobrag is that you only have to give your email. No phone hussling with any rep til you have an offer in writing. The only draw back is they will cancel your braggle if they think it is too low/unreasonable (I would not have gotten mine through them as they would have cancel it), but it would be a reasonable start for you to get written quote.

I've received a quote of standard EX model with price 26k+TTL in NY area. Is this a good price? What's the ultimate low price we can shoot for?

Is this the Out the door price. Tax and doc fees included.
  • macgandalfmacgandalf Member Posts: 25
No, I believe this is pre-tax. Destination fee IS included, but tax is not. Not sure about doc fee (should be about 55 - 65 in CA). Tax in CA is about 12% (state + DMV fee).

carfan, you got a great deal!!

For 2010 Odyssey LX, the dealer in my area told me their costs was = 24,296 (invoice) + 710 (dest) + 100 (ads) = $25,106. They are only willing to offer me $100 off this price + a dealer installed accessory that they claimed worth $199 (for free). So, my price is $25,006 + ttl + dmv fees.
This is the best deal I can get from many dealers in my area.

Just curious what kind of incentives your dealer has? I guess they are selling at a loss, or perhaps I am missing something...
Anyone else out there has such a great deal as carfan's?
  • acc252acc252 Member Posts: 1
anybody know if this it for dealer inventory, will they get anymore 2010 honda odysseys, most dealer I contacted won't divulge this information hoping to push me to buy this year, but I want to wait early next year for some incentives.

We were about 5 members in Houston area researched in the last couple of days.

One of our group member bought EX on 12/24/2009

    1) This is a real purchase price
Odyssey EX from Gillman Honda of FortBend (Houston area)
    EX Vehicle Price $26,599.99
    Sales Tax $1,662.50
    Documentary Fee $189.00
    Title Fee $58.80
    License Plates $60.80
    Inspection Fee $23.75
    Full Deputy Fee $5.00
    Dealer's Inventory Tax $67.24
    Add-ons ~$820
    Your Drive out Price $29,500

Add-ons mandatory on every vehicle sold by this dealer, I guess they make money in the add-ons

    2) This is only final negotiation not purchase price.
I too quote on EX-L W/ RES with similar discounts, but I have not purchased.
Drive out quote for EX-L W/ RES is $34,500 (this includes the same add-ons as above)
Per my calculation, here are the figures (I got only final driveout price from dealer and I interpreted details)
    Selling price $30,500
    Destination $710
Add-ons $800 ( window tint, pinstripe, wheel locks, and splash guards)
    TTL $2500
    OTD price $34,500

I asked for $34 K but dealer did not give.
I just researched to find all purchase prices from Jan 2009 to Dec 2009.
Many people in the first half of the year got almost $4000 less than the current offers. I need van by Summer 2010, so I am thinking to wait for better deals.

    3) This is a quote by email from HolmesHonda, Louisiana ( I have to pay again for TX to transfer the title). I cannot trust on this offer, they may ask for add-ons after driving there (I have to drive more than 500 miles). Local people can make use of this offer.

This deal is contingent on completion of paperwork by January 4th at 7pm.

    2010 Honda Odyssey EX MSRP $ 30,615
Selling price $26,709 plus tax ($1669.31), title and license ($265.55)
Total Drive Out $28,643.86 for EX

    2010 Honda Odyssey EX-L MSRP $34,115
Selling price $29,802 plus tax ($1862.63), titkle and license ($265.55)
Total Drive Out $31,930.18 for EX-L

    2010 Honda Odyssey EX-L RES MSRP $35,715
Selling price $31,216 plus tax ($1951), title and license ($265.55)
Total Drive Out $33,432.55 for EX-L RES

By the way this is me (hondaody10) who got that deal on LX.

I dont know if my dealar has any incentives or not but i purcahsed in the last week of november and that might be the reason of getting that price. You can try AAA buying program or Amex buying program to get another pricing option.

You can do some reasearch on www.truecar.com to see what other ppl are paying.

    Good luck

I have been looking for almost a week to buy a 2010 Honda 2010 EX-L with RES in Los Angeles Area. I have been getting mixed price feedback from dealers through internet.
Can any one throw some light on the purchase price ( OTD) if they purchased one.
    Thanks a ton !!
The prices I had from dealers is coming out to 33,635 /33,715 (taxes, registration fee excl. which comes to about 3500).
  • ibuyhondaonlyibuyhondaonly Member Posts: 13
If your price would cause the dealer to lose money, group buy will make it worse.because dealer will end up lose double money.

Car is certified, 17,000 miles approx. Listed on the lot for $32,998 and online for $31,995 (Have to love that).

I'm thinking of an offer of $30,000 but would like your input.
  • naidugnaidug Member Posts: 14
I think it is expensive when you compare with new 2010. My friend bought the same one in Jan 2009 for about $33 OTD price. If you add TTL to your offer it will be very expensive. It is just my 1 cent, you may want to research further.

Hi, I am in DFW and am looking to buy a EX L RES/NAVI. I will be willing to drive to houston areas if I can get a good price.
I see that you got a quote for EX L RES OTD. Did any of you also look at one with navigation?
I know that there are no incentives now, but am thinking to buy with whatever best price I can get now.

    Hey Duck4you,

By R & L - did you mean RES? Also, which dealership did you end up buying from?
  • heffe734heffe734 Member Posts: 2
I'm in OC and currently looking as well. I got quoted $31000 flat for EX-L but I see some people on the forums getting the EX-L with RES for that price. Do you have any updates?
  • shopper173shopper173 Member Posts: 1
Looking to buy odyssey in philly area as well - getting high quotes though for EX-L with DVD system - rather disappointed -$35234 and $35987 - out the door - are you getting any better?

Replacing 2001 odyssey with 202,000 miles - replaced transmission paid for by honda and now transmission with issues again - figured I put a lot of miles on it - hoping it would last till the 2011 model comes out but unfortunately can't wait
  • mugenex6mugenex6 Member Posts: 33
My 2 cents: $32,998 or $31,995 for 2009 EXL w/ RES and Navi that has 17K miles? I think either price is still high. Was this Ody privately owned before or a dealer Demo? I personally won't buy a dealer demo.

I would buy the 2010 EXL w/ RES and just buy an external navi instead (eventhough its nice to have one thats built in). With the aftermarket gps's, its easier to toss them and buy new ones every year or two years and get the latest maps, plus you can use them when you're traveling. (And I own a 2005 MDX w/ NAVI and RES, so I speak from experience of having owned a Honda/Acura with Navi) :)

I have a couple of quotes in the Philly area around 32200 + title, tags, taxes.

Most title, tags, and doc fees are less than $150.

I just came from the Paragon Honda Dealer and went with the Edmunds price of 27808 and got their internet price of 27905 - for an EX model. Good price - or should I wait until Feb. when the 2011 Sienna comes out and there may be some Honda incentives? What dealer gave you your price?
  • madams1madams1 Member Posts: 101
Since the taxes and fees vary from state to state, it would be more informative if those posting a price, seperate the price of the vehicle from the taxes and fees.

    Just a suggestion.
  • fei2010fei2010 Member Posts: 10
I tried several local dealers (west sub of Chicago) and got a lowest quote of sale price of $24200, plus TTL(7% tax) comes to OTD $26200. Is there a fair price here? Any standard accessory should be included, right?

Do you think it worth to buy the extended warranty? I plan to visit the dealer tomorrow, try to buy before year end to take advantage of tax benefit. Anything else that I need to be aware of so I would not be tricked by them?

    Thank you!

I want to buy a new odyssey, but now if purchase in 2010, then no that 2009 tax deduction for new car, it is sad, does that mean it is not a good choice to buy a new car in the upcoming Jan.2010, is the end of year always the lowest price season? thanks

You are kidding right.. What you mean by OTD?. You would not have bought EX-L RES for this price including tax, title etc., The invoice price itself $31,706 (without destination fee).

Let me know which dealer gave you this price.

If you get the extended warranty, buy from one of the online dealers such as Bernardi Honda, Curry Honda, etc. There are several dealers accross the US that issue these online. We used Bernardi once and Curry once(different vehicles) and received the warranty cards and other paperwork in the mail within a couple of weeks. These are the real Honda care warranties just like the dealer is going to try and sell you, but at a much lower price.
  • thamlet8thamlet8 Member Posts: 2
The #31,200 OTD price is the total amount I paid for the car - out the door. That price includes the tax, title, etc. And this is for the 2010 EX w/RES....not the 2010 EX-L w/RES.
  • plan2buyplan2buy Member Posts: 2

Got a price of $29253 for an in-stock 2010 EX w/ RES in Central New Jersey. With MA tax and other fees, total was 31435 (1828 tax, 249 doc, 105 reg).

Thank you for all the posts on this board. This was very helpful in purchasing my Odyssey. I wanted to buy one before the end of the year for the write off so I ended up buying one yesterday. I started out looking at the LX but I began to covet and eventually decided I wanted the EX-L, mostly for the variable cylinder engine. It had a few small chachkas ( door guards etc. ) but was mostly a stock EX-L that they had on the lot. ( Not my 1st choice of color either as they didn't have many). I dont really have a use for the RES but would have loved the NAVI.

I paid $29550 + taxes, destination fee and stuff. It came out to $32838 OTD ( give or take a few dollars. I am typing from memory).

Someone please tell me I didn't get ripped off.
