    your price EX-L w/RES $33500 is a decent price.
I was also shocked to know about CR ratings about Odyssey.
When we are all paying premium price because of the brand and reliability..but the same reliability is being down rated by reputable organisation...what option do we have.
At this point I'm not able to go back to Sienna( where infact I started with it). It is very difficult to imagine me owning the new Sienna..which looks like a mini bus for me.
We all could have got a better bargain price if not for the Japan's calamity.
Typically during this time of the year we get good deals. But the dealers don't have enough stock to discount their odysseys.

I don't think so. I am trying to get a great deal in Denver. So far I have quotes of 2012 Odyssey EX-L w/ Nav for 35900.
2012 Touring 39600 and the grand dame.....

2012 Touring Elite 40600. Is it worth it? I really like the blind spot indicator to help me as the headrest on the passenger side second row blinds me looking out the right rear window completely. I was excited for the tilting side rear mirrors but the tilting is only on the right side???? Booo.

Lastly, my fave dark cherry pearl only has beige interior. I prefer the truffle, much better for children!

Opinions? Comments? Is $40,600 really worth it and is that a great deal?

bought the EXL model over the weekend. OTD $34776.49 witht Roof Rails & all season mat. here is the breakdown: 32294+250(roof rails)+250(dealer fee)+1926.99(tax)+22(other fee)+15(title)+18(reg fee)=total $34776.49
    financed 60 months @1.9%.
offered $1595 for 8 years of 120k extended warrenty, but did not buy it. Should we buy it right now or after 3 years of manufactur warrenty expire?
  • larrybowlslarrybowls Member Posts: 16
Those are great prices for the touring and elite models. The side mirrors will tilt down on either side, it depends on which side the mirror adjustor selector is on. I paid 39,199 for the touring in black with truffle and if I had the option of buying the elite for 1K more then I would've jumped on it.
  • larrybowlslarrybowls Member Posts: 16
You can buy a Hondacare warranty at cost via internet. I told my dealership that I can buy a 5/100K with 0 deduct for cost at 750 and told them the dealerships name. They looked it up and they ended up selling me the warranty at 751.
  • ymusymus Member Posts: 6
I got the offer from Airport Marina Honda. I got the same offer from Spreen Honda a better offer from Honda Cars of Corona.
  • trvlnchictrvlnchic Member Posts: 6
I thought they should both go down. The dealer said it functions by proximity to the curb? After ensuring the side mirror adjuster was in neutral, I put it in reverse and again, only 1 mirror tilted down. Perhaps it is a defect on that particular vehicle.
I have a black Ody currently, ('06) but with major wrists disabilities the steering is horrible for me. Pain pain pain. so we are going to a new Ody, how did you choose color. I really wanted Dk Cherry Pearl w/ truffle int. but it only comes in tan. My bubble burst! The black w/truffle was very nice and the truffle seems to be a bit thicker leather. Or it's my imagination. ??
  • trvlnchictrvlnchic Member Posts: 6
what was the better offer? $37,382? or did you mean for an elite? I will purchase in any state if it saves me anothe r$2000. Is that possible? :confuse:
  • ymusymus Member Posts: 6
We bought EX L with RES. OTD was $37,382. The price they offered was $33,926+ Taxes + Fees. Honda of Corona offered $33,875+Taxes + Fees. I didn't ask their OTD price. They didn't have the color we wanted. And Airport Marina was closer to us. I got the rates through Truecar.
  • larrybowlslarrybowls Member Posts: 16
The dealer was wrong...in the manual it states that only the side the mirror is positioned in will tilt down. I checked last nite while in reverse I switched the mirror adjuster from left to right and the corresponding mirror went down.

This for everyone to read before purchasing a new ODY....... very interesting. This has been a long term problem with Honda and apparently they still have not resolved. I did read where the new Honda is rated below average as well.

I got an offer for 2012 EXL with RES in Maryland for $33800 plus taxes and Paper work.
Any good deals in DC metro area? Please post.
Looks like there are more vans with EXl with Nav than vans with EXL with RES.
Any ideas when we can expect manufacturer rebates/discounts?

Hey guys, would love your help. I'm looking for specifically a touring Black w/ Truffle interior.
Thru Costco I can get one at $1K over invoice for $39,469 for a 2012. Buying it I can get 1.9%
    Leasing it's .00155 MF 57% residual. ON a 15K mi/ lease it's $572/mont

Thru TrueCar.com I think there's a 2011 for $37,271 which is below dealer cost. Wondering thoughts on which I should get?

Also lease vs. buy on those rates?
  • vaodyexlvaodyexl Member Posts: 21
As we all know that there is no difference between 2011 and 2012, you can go for 2011 when you are saving $2k.When you are trying to sell the van you are going to get a lesser price when compared to 2012 van.As long as you are going to keep the vehicle for a long time you don't need to worry about the resale value.
  • trvlnchictrvlnchic Member Posts: 6
The EXL w/ nav offers voice controls so I am going to guess that is why there are more with this option. I would prefer to add my own entertainment system than try to hook up navigation.
  • trvlnchictrvlnchic Member Posts: 6
So, I have to put the mirror adjuster into position for it to work? Not very automatic.

Today is the day, I have sold my 2006 Touring and working out a deal for the new one today! I would really like to get them down a little more than $40,600.
  • lithnightslithnights Member Posts: 25
Absolutely agree with vaodyexl. We were specifically looking for a 2011 since we knew we'd have it awhile and figured we could save 1-2K on a 2011 vs. 2012. But there simply weren't many 2011s around and thus the savings were minimal. That's the only reason we opted for a 2012.

For 2K savings, I'd do the 2011 in a second.
  • minivannewbieminivannewbie Member Posts: 9
Ok, well it looks like I found the color combo i'm looking for, apparently it's the last one in California for the 2011 touring.

Dealer offered $37,900. He said he'd negotiate down a few hundred more (although typical salesperson as he wouldn't commit over the phone. The 2012 on Truecar looks like I can get it for $39,009 ($500 over invoice). I decided I'm doing the 3 year 15K mile lease.

I think the depreciation on the 2011 is 50% vs. 2012 is 57%? Money factor on the 2011 is .00145 and I think 2012 is .00155? could that be right? that the 2011 is lower than 2012?

So thoughts on which I should get? I don't think I'm keeping it after 3 years as I'm hoping we can get into a hybrid suburban at that time, or maybe even a hybrid minivan if they are out by then.

Bought my 2012 honda odyssey LX. Base price - $25,000 and OTD $26,250 with no dealer options from Pohanka dealer in Fredricksburg, VA.

Today I bought an Odyssey EX-L w/RES in Indiana for $34000 with a $500 prepaid debit card bonus, no haggling, all arranged over the Internet. My old Odyssey was a 2000, and I'm amazed at the good new features (well, I guess the price is higher too...). Other dealers were quoting numbers like 34,750 and 34,500, but I didn't try bargaining.

Bought our 2012 odyssey ex-l (no nav or res) for invoice --32,399 +ttl. Edmunds TMV was 33,960 and truecar was 33,243.

Got polished metal w/ grey leather interior from Honda of the Avenues in jacksonville, fl today. Included 'protection package' (wheel locks, mud guards, trunk liner, pinstriping, door edge guards, moonroof visor) at no extra cost (dealer in gainesville was charging $695 for this on top of their doc fee!)

Dealt strictly thru email, quoted invoice + 810 destination + $698 'dealer doc fee' (which salesman advised up front was pure profit) with no haggle, no games. Great experience, no nonsense, paperwork was ready for us when we got there. Did not have any F&I games, either... Just offered extended 3rd party warranty for $1,930, which we declined. Went thru honda's website to request dealer Internet price quotes from about 6 area dealers within 50 mile radius and Honda of the Avenues Internet salesman was the best price and most upfront. Will def. buy from them again!
  • minivannewbieminivannewbie Member Posts: 9
Ended up getting the 2012 touring, black with truffle interior for $39,109 (door guards was $100 from a dealer transfer). But basically it was $500 over invoice. I used www.truecar.com dealer called within 15 min, said he wouldn't charge extra to do a dealer transfer and agreed to the same $500 over invoice.

Grace Honda in San Bruno for you bay area folks. Gerry was straight forward no haggle, just came in and did paperwork. We signed everything tonight in a little under 2 hrs. I'm picking it up tomorrow.

I ended up leasing, $1K walkout which included 1st month payment, MF of .00155 50% residual on a 15K mi 36mo Lease.

    $406 after tax (8.25% here)

I'd definitely use Truecar again, transparency of what others are paying is awesome.

My husband and I bought a 2012 Odyssey EX-L w/ RES at White Allen Honda in Dayton, OH over the weekend. We went less than 2 hours before closing, they could tell we were serious about buying and were very aggressive (in a good way) to make the deal happen. Our USAA quote said $34,010, so we were hoping to match or beat that. I just asked them straight up, what's the best you can do....first offer came back $33,595 + ttlf. We were very pleased, but didn't show it. We acted like it wasn't good enough, and got them to go down to $33K even. Although we live and purchased in OH, we are legal residents of FL and decided to register there (military)...so I guess we saved 1/2% in taxes.

    Here is the breakdown:

2012 Honda Odyssey EX-L w/ RES (Dark Cherry Pearl II, Beige leather):

    Base Price: $33,000
    Doc Fee: $250
    FL Taxes (6%): $1980
    Reg/Title: $33+$18

    Total OTD Price: $35,281

Before going to the dealership, we went to get our 2007 Civic Hybrid appraised at CarMax. They offered us $12K, so we at least had that in our back pocket. Dealership only offered $9800 for the trade-in, so we declined. Decided to finance $20K at 0.9% for 36 months, and wrote them a check for the difference.

We were very pleased with the deal. From everything I'm reading here and all the website quotes, I think we did great! :)

Got a white+truffle from Rusty Wallis here in Dallas.

Base: $32,120 (with window tint, paint/fab protection, body molding, cargo tray etc.)
Total OTD: $34,500 (6.5% tax + ~$374 of other fees)

For RES, I bought a 10.1" Toshiba Thrive tablet for $279 and linked with the system via Bluetooth, hang it on the ceiling (slide into the sunroof gap).

There are 2 other dealers who promised to beat this price but I figure not by much as they won't tell me the price over the phone. I don't like to do business that way, so I went with RW.
  • vaodyexlvaodyexl Member Posts: 21
2012 Honda Odyssey EX-L w/ RES for $33k is a very good deal.

So it looks like dealers and Honda are slowly coming to realty.Given the economy and Europe crisis they can't stick to these unfair prices.
  • dyicarguydyicarguy Member Posts: 1
Bought the Odyssey today at Bobby Rahal Honda in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Traded in my 2005 model Odyssey (same features) that had 118,000 miles on it. Paid $32,650 for the vehicle, $1,446 in tax, and about $310 in other fees, for a total of $34,406. Received $9,300 for the trade, costing me $25,106 out the door. I declined all the dealer offered warranties and products.

I agree with earlier posts; Honda is finally willing to earn your business.

  • vaodyexlvaodyexl Member Posts: 21
Looks like the destination charge is included in $32,650. If we add up her final cost($34,406=$32,650+$1,446 +$310 ) it proves it.
That is the best deal for 2012 Odyssey EX-L w/RES I have ever seen on this post.
    Congrats!!!

I currently have an offer from my local dealer (in South Carolina) for a '12 EX-L w/NAVI (no add-ons or accessories) for $500 under invoice @ $34,075 (incl. destination) + $199 Doc Fee + $343 TTL which is $34,617 OTD. That seemed like a decent offer until I saw a couple of $33k (& under) deals on the EX-L w/RES that have recently been posted.

Another dealer (120 miles away) has just called me back and still has a 2011 EX-L w/NAVI (in my preferred color) and is putting together an offer for me on a 2012 and the orphaned 2011. How much of a price savings should I realistically expect on the 2011 vs. the 2012?
  • vaodyexlvaodyexl Member Posts: 21
Your OTD price doesn't talk about the Sales tax in South Carolina.
    Is tax included in $34,075?
  • southernhoodadsouthernhoodad Member Posts: 2
The sales tax was included in the $343 TTL (Tax, Title & License Plate).
South Carolina sales tax on vehicles is 5%, but is capped at $300. So my tax is $300, my title fee is $25 and a new license plate is $18. Total for tax, title and license plates is $343.

Meanwhile, the 2011 was not our color afterall, and the offer didn't make it worth settling for the wrong color and driving 150 miles.

However, I just received (and accepted) a better deal.
    -2012 EX-L w/NAVI - Polished Metal Metallic - Gray Interior - $33325.00
(Wheel Locks, Splash Guards and Cargo Liner included in that price)
    - Documentation Fee = $297.00
    - Sales tax/title/Tags = $325.00 ($18 less since I decided to transfer tags)
    Total OTD = $33,947.00

I live in Fairfax VA, is it worth driving 120 miles to Bobbyrahal honda to get this deal? the best offer I have so far from local dealer is almost $1000 more than this. Is there any complications I should be worried about buying from outof state dealers?
  • vaodyexlvaodyexl Member Posts: 21
I too live in VA (ASHBURN).
There is no risk of buying from out of state..but make sure you get the deal before you start driving.

I have a touring on order (deposit of $500) hope to pick it up in a week or two.

    Price $37500 (inc dest)
    Doc fee $349
    +TT&L

    No dealer add-on's

    36 months @0.9%

Anything I have to watch out for? I have the agreed upon price in email.

I have a '03 EX that has not given me a day's problem and never been in the shop (Only for services). With all the horror stories of transmission problems, and I plan to keep this van 8 years, is it worth the $1200 for 8 year extended warranty? I have always thought extended warranties were a waste.

I Just bought a 2012 Odyssey EX-L +NAV from a local dealer in San Diego. Decent deal, but not the greatest. As part of the negotiations, they used some type of cash back from Honda that they can give to customers when the vehicle is financed. In total, they gave me$750 to offset the purchase price (side note - I think some of this was just gamesmanship to make me feel like I was getting something). We closed the deal on 11/29. Now, the finance manager calls me back and says that they made a mistake and the need to redo the paperwork dated for december because they "RAN OUT" of the credits provided by Honda in november and instead want to use the December credits.

He assures me that there is no difference for my purchase, but this sounds a bit fishy if not fraudulent to me. Has anyone else experienced a similar tactic. I'm inclined to say "that's a no can do." This was the same sweet as pie finance manager who tried to sell me an EW for $2800.

    Any feed back?

    THanks
    John

What's the Base price and OTD?
  • davidungdavidung Member Posts: 3
You didn't say what the OTD price was or the break down. Unless you are totaly fine with the deal, I'd hem and haw and say I think the dealer needs to throw in something substantial. Did you get the extended 100k warranty? Free oil changes? Something for your trouble. Remember you are doing "them" a favor! Good luck! Dave

  • ymusymus Member Posts: 6
Our salesman had mentioned using $750 coupon from Honda. But when we went to sign the papers he told that they ran out of the coupons. We made him give us the wheel locks, mud guards, trunks tray and door edge guard for free to compensate that. He had to adjust offer price to match his old OTD price offer.

I don't have the numbers in front of me with the true OTD price, but the ultimate agreed upon vehicle price was ~34900. Not great, not terrible. They used this costco program and told me over email they would match written offers. When I showed them my TrueCar offer for $100 over invoice they hemmed/hawed. Eventually, I wanted to get the car and didn't feel like spedning another day at another dealer, etc...

At this point, I have to go back on monday for them to install a roof rack and supposedly resign said paperwork. I'm inclined to say that I don't feel comfortable with this request. Maybe they made an honest mistake, but I don't trust any car dealer after seeing how they negotiate and I am not sure that it is legal to "redo" the deal.

I will post the results. thx

I got 2 offers from Honda Dealers in MD. One is ready to sell for 32600 using $750 coupon from Honda, but not ready to give OTD price my mail, other one is offering OTD price of $34,985. Do you guys think its best offer?
