    Hello,

We bought it from Honda of Lisle Superstore. The actual price was $31,300 including destination and splash guards which were already installed. No RES or NAV, no other accessories.

The $31,353 quote was from Valley Honda in Aurora and I believe it was for vehicle without any accessories. Original Honda of Lisle's quote was $31,699 and I used Valley Honda's quote to negotiate with Honda of Lisle.

Schaumburg Honda also gave me a good quote - $31,500 but they didn't have the color I wanted.

2012 Odyssey EX-L (no RES, no Nav)
    ==========================
    Vehicle Price = $31,661
    Dealer fee =$ 339
    ------------------------------------------------
Total (before tax and tag) = $32,000
Sales Tax (SC) =$300 [ gotta love SC]
    Tag transfer = $37
Total (OTD incl tax, tag) - $32,337

Smoky Topaz Metallic with Truffle interior

Lifetime power train warranty (over and above the 5 yr / 60K mile from Honda)

Based on the posts here , had a reasonable idea on what a good price will be. E-mailed 5 dealerships in and around Greenville,SC ,… gimme a call if u can meet $32K all incl (before taxes). Within a hour got the first call where they offered 32.4K – “we cannot offer a dime below that” – told them not interested and within 5 min got a call back with 32K even. Did not ever visit the dealership. They sent the sales guy home with the car and all the paper work. Took 0.9% / 36 mo financing from Honda.

Thanks for all in the forum for posting their experiences, greatly helped me to eliminate the guess work on “what is a good price”. The whole experience was hassle free and took 48 hrs from my first e-mail to the dealer to the delivery at home.

Best price I found was at two places: the first was $34,007 for a 2012 EX-L w/Navi was at Western Branch Honda, in Suffolk, VA. Ray Solis (757) 867-3130 was the rep & they offered the unlimited power train warranty.

However, this price was 'offered' to be matched by a sales rep (haven't bought yet) at Bob Barbour Honda, in Greenville, NC. However, I did NOT get the 'Barbour' price in writing, and I don't have the sales reps name with me (I'm in NY for for the holidays). They also offered the same warranty BUT I never got it in writing.

I spent about an hour sitting in a 2012 Honda EX-L at the Bob Barbour lot, using the voice activated Nav (it also runs other stuff, like heating, a/c) in order to see how 'user friendly it is). I have a Kenwood voice activated non-factory system in my 2008 Toyota Sienna and it doesn't control temperatures, a/c like the Honda BUT, I'm not super impressed with the voice activation of the Honda because it appears to be very limited in finding POI's plus its $200 a year for the upgrades to the maps, however, there IS one thing I do like and that is the very recessed screen of the Navi system, since it blocks most of the sun that washes out my screen.

When I do buy, it will probably be in the spring and it will definitely be a Honda.

Thanks a lot for the info.

I called them both and they are saying the best they can do is 35,306 + tax + doc fee + title.

He said the reason they cna;t do $34,007 is becasue the market demand changed :-(

    Thanks again for your reply!

First of all, thanks for the inputs in this forum. This has helped. Apparently all dealers I contacted in houston got only 2 - 4 OdesseyEX-L RES in stock.. Not sure why!

    2012 Odyssey EX-L W/RES + (Window Tint , IBEX paint+interior protection, splash guard)

    Car Price : 33,419.72 ( 34,169.72 - 750.00 Honda Incentive)
    Dealer Fees + TTL : 2,480.28

    OTD Paid : 35,900.00

Bought 7 year 80K miles Honda Care W/ No deductible for $600 and it was added to the loan (Hyannis Honda quotes $765.00) .

For some documentation reasons, the finance person need to put a higher price for Honda care, and to offset that he offered to lower interest rate to 1.7% for 60 mos instead of the standard 1.9% for 60 mos deal. That seem to have saved me $169.02 in finance charges over the period of loan.

Have you purchased your Odyssey yet? I just bought an 2012-EXL (no navi/RES) at the end of November and am urging you NOT to go to Kirkland. It was/continues to be the worst car purchase experience to date.

Hi There. I am so happy to find your post. I am actually in negotiation with Honda Lisle now for the EX-L Odyssey 2012. Would you mind sharing who you dealt with at the dealership? I am pushing real hard at my target price $31K which is real close to what you paid. Thanks so much!
  • vaodyexlvaodyexl Member Posts: 21
    Indra,
Avoid dealers from VA..their documentation fee is too high.MD dealers have low doc fee and better price.
Don't spend more than 31500 for 2012 Odyssey EX-L (no RES, no Nav).
On top of itthis price you need to pay the tax +doc fee and tags.

I got a quote of OTD $35,407 for 2012 EX-L w/RES from Landmark Honda in Virginia. They would include the wheel locks and and mud guards. Any comments on the price. Thanks.

Thank you for the reply! I ended up buying an EX-L with Nav from McGrath Honda in St. Charles since they had the color I wanted.

    EX-L with Nav.
$34,450 incl. destination and Protection Pack (all season mats, mud guards)
    -$750 dealer incentive
    = $33,700 + TTL

According to the Edmunds pricing tool, I guess I paid under invoice, though I think I've seen better deals than mine posted on here....
  • vaodyexlvaodyexl Member Posts: 21
Finally I bought my 2012 EXl with RES for 32,650+ TTL from Bobby rahal Honda, PA yesterday.
They did not offer any extras like mats, mud guards...
I don't think they have any more $750 dealer incentives at this dealer any more.
The dealers in VA charge a lot and also their doc fee is too much. So look for deals in MD or PA.
You can get a good price.I'm not against dealers in VA..but they should think practically.
This forum has helped me a lot in buying my odyssey. Thanks for all your feed back.

Hi Azaz, could you please let me know where did you buy your vehichle and what was the price you paid for? I am looking at buying it and negotiated a deal of 33350$ for EX-L as of now. Not sure if this is a good price.

    Thanks!

Bought a 2012 EXL (no nav, no RES) last week in Winston-Salem, NC. Price paid for vehicle was $32760 (does not include doc fees or tax, tag, title). I did finance 0.9% for 36 mos. Was told Honda receives a $250 incentive if you finance so it allows them some negotiation room if you finance instead of paying cash - didn't matter how much or how little down payment you wanted to put on it. I had no trade-in either. Thanks to those on this site. It helped me establish what I thought was a fair price.

Priced match dealer in OKC bartlesville dealer for $39,899 with pro pack and side moldings thrown in at Frank Kent Honda in Ft. Worth, TX. Signed Dec 31st. Dealer was excellent to deal with, no hassle or pressure. Got in and out of dealership in 40 min.
  • duplexdianneduplexdianne Member Posts: 20
That's a great price. I was aiming for $39,750 and think that's a reasonable target for the next month or so. Seem to be quite a few Touring and Touring Elites available right now. It's worth a drive.
  • duplexdianneduplexdianne Member Posts: 20
Have you ever leased before? Curious what made you decide to lease over an outright purchase? What would be the difference in your monthly payment?
  • dc_minivandc_minivan Member Posts: 3
does it include TTL? If yes, that's a fantastic deal i think.
  • johnm94johnm94 Member Posts: 1
We just got ours for $39485, but no extras thrown in. We refused to budge from a price of $5000 below MSRP. Also, they had a the promo for 1.9% 60 months financing, which was great. Overall, we're very happy with the deal we got, and loving our new van!
  • ipodslaveipodslave Member Posts: 3
that's a great price on the TE! is that a drive out price? we live in north of DFW, and also looking for a touring or touring elite. do you mind if you send me the sales person's name and maybe a copy of the invoice?
  • donethat_1donethat_1 Member Posts: 66
Before you buy a ODY be sure to read ODY article at Motor Trend....for all of you that have already, good luck!

February 2012 Motor Trend Long Test Article 2011 Odyssey Touring Elite, 6 months old, 14999 miles "...we'll have the technicians look at the transmission as well. Over time, shifting has become rough, and occasionally upon acceleration between first and second gears, the transmission seems to be shuddering."
  • azazazaz Member Posts: 2
I got the car at invoice. Was quoted that price over the phone by a SM @ HoK to get me in the door. Purchased the day before Thanksgiving...was in the market for a 2011...but no one in WA had an EX-L (no navi/res). Bellevue had (2) 2011's...one w/navi & one w/res. You might be able to get a deal if they're still available. However, after calling around...no one was willing to get even close to invoice on a 2012 while I was looking in 2011. And I was an all cash buyer. The best quote on the phone I could get was from Fife...for $1000 over invoice...so close to what you found. If you're not in a hurry...I'd wait for another month or so...and see if you could get closer to invoice.

But DO NOT GO to Honda of Kirkland. I wrote *2* complaint letters to the GM/Owner. I attempted/was in contact with the GM/Owner, Customer Service Manager, a Sales Manager, and 2 Sales Associates...and I'm telling you...worst car buying experience ever. Only after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau did I get a response to either of my letters. So many dealerships in the area...go to *any* one of them. I honestly would have paid more for a better experience...and if you knew me...that's saying something.

Just got back from visiting two dealers in the Los Angeles area. Both want MSRP on both Touring and Touring Elite. And here we were expecting invoice or even lower :-)

It this normal for being this close after the holidays. How long would it take for more supply to roll in ?

Anyone know of a dealer in the Los Angeles area that is willing to a near invoice price on the Touring Elite ?

These two dealers claimed that Honda is purposely keeping supply limited for these two models and hence they are able to sell at MSRP. Are they BSing me ?
  • po65nypo65ny Member Posts: 34
Go to Norm Reeves in Cerritos. Through their Internet department they are quoting under $37k for 2012 Touring and under $41k for Touring Elite. This is including destination and without any haggling (yet). They are blowing all the other SoCal dealers out of the water, especially on the Touring.
  • hondaphanhondaphan Member Posts: 35
This happened with ours and after a number of "fixes" it turned out to be a software change that fixed it. The shuddering at about 25mph goes away with about 5mph and feels like an out of balance tire.

Where is this 750 Honda Cash? I am in ATL, GA and there are no dealers offering Honda Cash for the Odyssey at all...
  • gowda1gowda1 Member Posts: 4
If you finance through American Honda there was 750 incentive through Jan 3rd. Not sure if it's been extended.
I only came to know about it when I was signing the option to purchase. Nice surprise!

Thanks po65ny. Great tip! Just heard back from Norm Reeves in Cerritos. They seem a lot more reasonable. Any idea what price I should shoot for. The best price I have seen on this forum is $39485 with no extras (that includes destination).

    Greetings:

Thanks to all of those who have posted content here--very very helpful. I am from Ford/GM families potentially buying my first Honda Odyssey as our family continues to grow and needs the space. I have searched the content as best I can on this site but still would ask for some perspective on my experiences thus far.

Scenario: Had been looking to buy a Honda EX-L (with NAV)...although now I am thinking just the EX (with neither NAV nor RES...since we already have portable systems for both purposes).

    First dealer quoted me $37,700
    (-1,000 unspecified customer discount)

    Perma PLate....................300.00
    Trim masters...................490.00
Wheel locks.....................195.00 (but then stated that these were not options and that ALL hondas had these prices and these costs cannot be removed !!!...really? c'mon).

My trade in was worth........2,250 ( a little low but higher than Carmax)
    sales tax...........................1,200
    Tags/fees..............................67.0
    Doc fees.............................450.

    total OTD.............................37,140.

This seems rather high to me....also, I was stunned that they told me that those protection items were not options (they are with almost every other car company). Any perspective on price and/or any other info would be appreciated. I am happy to keep posting through the purchase of the car for everyone else.
  • jennyd4jennyd4 Member Posts: 4
An Ex without anything should be closer to $30000. I payed 31000 for my 2011 odyssey in Aug 2011. Did you get a quote for an online price? That is how I received the lowest price in the area. I was able to compare all the local dealers online rather than in person to get the best price. Wheellocks were no charge to me. Not sure where you are located but you may try BernardiHonda.com for an online quote and go from there. They are located in massachusetts.
  • boris36boris36 Member Posts: 3
Thanks Jenny. Actually, I should have been clearer in my note. I am in DC (North Virginia, NOVA) and that price (37,140 with a 2300 trade in) was for an EX-L with NAV ....

On a separate note--we are going back and both on whether we need a NAV or a RES or both ( I think untimely we will not get either).

    thanks
