    Hi,

Anyone purchased Odyssey EX-L recently in RTP area. I got a quote from Auto Park Honda and out the door price was 33422. If you have got it for a lesser price in the area please give me the dealership name, price and sales person info.

    Thanks.

We are also in the ATL area and in my initial research, I've gotten best price from Team Honda ($32,965 w/o doc, tax, tags) for the same options you are looking for (EX-L with RES). I haven't started detailed negotiations yet, but will keep you appraised of what else I come across.

Actually Team Honda in Lithia Springs was in the final 3 dealerships I wanted to work with. The issue is she only offered me the wheel locks, mug guards, and nitrogen in the wheels for $33080 w/o tax, tag, and doc fees. The guy at Carey Paul threw all that stuff in +moonroof visor, paint sealant AND i'm adding the Remote Starter System for $32687.46 w/o tax, tag, and doc fees. The guy at Carey Paul has been really helpful and was the first internet sales manager to respond with the price broken down into the different fees with a definite OTD price. The same guy also got my credit approval pushed through Honda Finance so I could get a great 1.9% APR for 60 months. I'll continue posting any changes because Carey Paul doesn't have the exact color Odyssey in stock atm.

Feel free to contact me on my personal e-mail-- andrewnhoang@gmail.com Maybe we can trade notes/quotes actively so we both can walk with the best deal.

    Garden State Honda in Clifton.

with NJ tax - 33600 OTD for EXL - (without considering 500$ honda finance.. so when you add that - the final cost is 33100).

Thank you everyone for the input and all the great advice. I really think I got a great deal on my vehicle and my entire family is extremely grateful.

2012 Odyssey EX-L (with RES, polished metal color, grey leather interior)
    Dealer Additions Included:
    - wheel locks
    - splash guards
    - moonroof visor
    - remote engine starter system
    - all season floor mats (threw those in after I brought up the minor door dings, manager recommended that I not request a full respraying for the door because it messes up the original factory paint job, but did agree to touch it up.)

Price, including destination fee, and all additions: $32,687.46
    Sales Tax (7.00%): $2329.21
Title, License, and Documentation fees: $608.00
Total out the door cost: $35,624.67

Did all my negotiations via email with the internet sales manager at Carey Paul Honda in Snellville. He was able to match my lowest offer, throw in the Protection Package, AND add on the remote engine starter system for way below MSRP + labor. There were lots of people waiting when we showed up late for our 2:30pm appointment but the entire process only took about 2.5 hours. All the paperwork was drawn up when we sign, we just had to wait for the vehicle to be cleaned pretty much.

We just purchased an Odyssey EX-L. I think we did well on the price ($33,264 with everything, including tax), though the finance manager of course tried to add on various items, including the Factory Wrap+Plus Care protection package (http://apps.cnanational.com/cportal/vehicle-service-contracts ).

This extends the 3yr /36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper (and 5 year/50,000 powertrain) standard warranty to 10 years / 120,000 miles for everything. There's a $100 deductible, and guarantees all replacement parts are new Honda parts. There are also a few minor perks, like roadside assistance, etc. The warranty is transferable should we sell the car before 10 years. Also, it can be terminated early for a pro-rated refund.

I resisted, then purchased it for the "employee discount" price of $1,338 -- only because I can cancel within 60 days. Suggestions?? Thanks!

I am in the market for EX-L in the RTP area. Test drove EXL at Cary Auto Park this weekend and was quoted 31,500 for base EXL.

Thank you for the prompt response, I gave your quote in an email to Garden State Honda rep, the response from them was

"Do you have anything in writing that I can show my senior manager that outlines the deal you are speaking of?"

    What do you suggest ?

    Suresh,

Can you tell me when you purchased this mini van? I am interested in the identical van and your price is very good.

    Thanks,

    Hi Sdani,

Garden State Honda Rep, called me and asked if you can name the person who bought the van at that quote, they said they are going to give me that price.

If you don't mind, can I use your name ? If yes, can you send me ur name ?

Just got a quote on a new Touring Elite. Price before TT&L is $37,900 (invoice lised was $41,990). Seems like a good deal. Other incentives would apply (0.9% financing and 1st month's payment).

Good deal? Should I jump on this one?

    Thanks in advance.

If I could find a Touring Elite for $37,900 plus TTL, I'd buy it tomorrow!

sorry...I miss-typed. That price was on a Touring. The price on a Touring Elite was $39,900. Is this still a good deal for either?
  • nettaigurunettaiguru Member Posts: 5
The invoice price you mentioned in your earlier post seems accurate for a Touring elite. It cant be for a touring as the MSRP on the Touring with Destination is about $42K and the invoice price is generally about $3K lower.

I think the best price on a standard Touring may be around $39K drive out.
  • vinnynyvinnyny Member Posts: 764
$39,900 seems reasonable, especially if it comes with 60/1.9% and $500 first payment made by Honda. (Also assuming no added on junk or fees).
  • vadaivadai Member Posts: 14
    Hello All,

I have a clarification on the new financing offer. With the Honda Financing offer for 1.9% upto 60 months + $500 towards the first month payment, is there an expectation of any down payment at all? Or would a token amount $500-$1000 suffice? Does Honda decide what interest rate I would get depending on what I put down? I have excellent credit and I am already pre approved for the entire van purchase from my credit union at 1.99%, they just don't have the $500 cash back which obviously makes the Honda deal a bit better(unless Honda Finance decides to tack on some other crap stuff I don't want).

    Any thoughts appreciated.

    Thanks,
    G

My local dealer told me that as long as I had a FICO credit score over 710 and sufficient income, I would qualify for 100% financing of purchase price. I planned to pay TTL out of pocket so I didn't ask about that piece.

After haggling with several dealerships, this is what I got:

2012 Honda Odyssey Touring, Smokey Topaz
including roof rack and cross rails (insisted that they install it):
    including processing fee, destination charge:
$37,771 , plus taxes and tags.

    How did I do?
  • hqly2001hqly2001 Member Posts: 92
Is the Touring really worth paying 4-5k more over an EXL-Res or NAV?
In CA, the EXL with Nav or Res could be had for 35,500 or so but a Touring looks to be around $37k+TTL = around 40k OTD.

My understanding is that the major difference between EXL_Res or NAV, the Touring has both REs and NAV. There are some other minor differences but is it really worth $4-5k more?
I'm just trying to determine if I'm missing something in terms of value in the Touring that warrants a substantially higher price?
  • drewskidoubledrewskidouble Member Posts: 10
There is no expectation whatsoever. I purchased my Odyssey this past weekend and throughout the finance process the internet sales guy never asked if I was going to out anything down. I was pre-approved for 1.9% APR for 60 months well before I walked through the door. When I finally sat down with the finance manager after viewing the car and agreeing to the pre-negotiated price with the internet sales guy, he was really straight forward and was ready to finance the entire amount of my vehicle.

As far as FICO scores, my wife and I do not have 700+ scores, we are really close but not over 700. To be honest my FICO dropped ALOT because I helped co-sign for my sister-in-law's car about 2 months ago but I guess my income makes up for that. I did the same thing vinnyny is planning to do, I placed a down payment to basically cover the cost of my TTL.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello drewskidouble,

Thank you for your feedback and I do appreciate your response. I did get pre-approved with Honda Finance, but they don't specify the interest rate. I do think I will get the 1.9% rate.

Right now I am negotiating between 2 dealers about the EX-L, hopefully will square things away this weekend and keep everybody posted here.

Btw, the $500 off the first month deal, is that something the dealers factor in when they quote me the OTD price on the internet or not?

    Thank you.,
  • hpuri_leohpuri_leo Member Posts: 1
    All,

    The Honda website clearly states:
"American Honda will make the first scheduled payment for well-qualified lessees up to $500"

Nothing of the sort is listed in the 0.9% financing offer details.
So the $500 towards first month payment if for a lease, not for a financed situation.

Can anyone confirm that it applied towards the payment of a financed deal ?

    Thanks.
  • moshahmoshah Member Posts: 2
Yes,it also applies for the first payment of a financing deal.

    Source: Bought one today.
  • hqly2001hqly2001 Member Posts: 92
they will try to sneak the $500 in as the OTD price. I negotiated a price independent of the $500; so I got the price I want plus $500 free first payment and 1.9% APR.

This site helped me on my purchase so I feel I need to post my experience to help others.
Just purchased a 2012 EX-L Silver this weekend in PA.
This is the EX-L without NAV/RES.

    MSRP: 35685 ($34875 + $810 destination)
    Purchase price: 31500
    Doc/Reg/Misc charge: 176.50
    6% PA tax: 1890

OTD: $33566.50 (if I deduct the $500 that Honda will pay on the 1st payment, it is like $33066.50)

Pay cash $15820.23 and finance at 0.9% on $17746.27. This will make the 1st payment at $500 exact. Honda will pay the 1st payment of $500. This is stated in my purchase document.
I was told that I can pay off the loan right after Honda pay the 1st payment.

Please keep this website going. It's a great site and it helped me on my last Odyssey 2001 and this 2012 purchases. Thanks to the host.

Hi. I saw in this forum that PA sales tax is 6% and NJ tax is 7%. Being a resident of NJ will I save some money if I'll buy my van (let's say EX-L NAV) in PA ?

No... you'll pay NJ tax, if you register the car in NJ, no matter where you buy it...

    Hello,

We just purchased a 2012 Honda Odyssey EX-L White(my primary choice) today here in NJ at DCH Kay Honda in Eatontown. All negotiations were done via email. I started off with an email blast and of the quotes I received the one I closed shown below was the best.

Price : $30,900(inclusive of destination fees)
    Tire Tax : $7.50
    Sales Tax : $2163
    Doc Fees : $299
    Registration : $399
    OTD : $33768.5

I further got the American Honda Finance deal at 1.9% + $500 off my first months installment. It was a very great experience, other than the final push to get some extra insurance there was no attempt to push anything else on me.

Please email me with any questions at g_junk2001 yahoo com

After requesting quotes from all dealers in a 150 miles radius I got a 2012 Odyssey EX-L Silver (no NAVI or RES) the best offer was from Landmark Honda in Alexandria VA ( a 2 hrs drive for me....I dealt with Sales Rep Thomas Mcclendon) the guy gave me the OTD price from the beginning ($32,129)...no tricks. This is how it looks on paper:

    Car- 29,480
    Dest-810
    Processing Fees -385
    Taxes/Registration and fees- $1873.74 (3.75% Delaware tax)

They did sold me the warranty extension, which i can still cancel, ($0 deductible) from Honda America (8 years / 120K miles) for an additional $1500. Not sure on this but I will appreciate any inputs.

I hope this can help other people. Went to MartinHonda here in Newark, Delaware and their OTD price was $33,400
  • maxima13maxima13 Member Posts: 1
    Hi,

can you share which dealership ? Thanks
  • jking2012jking2012 Member Posts: 5
I forgot to add that I also got the 1st payment up to $500 and the 1.9% APR in top of the $32,129 OTD price.

For me it was worth the trip from Delaware to VA.... as I said a 2 hrs drive saved me over a $1,000 because no dealer around, including PA, NJ, DE or MD was able to compete.

    Enjoy your shopping!!

    Dealer Additions Included:

    - all season weather mats
    - cargo mat

    - Dealer installed headrest mounted DVDs (two systems so kids can each watch a movie)

Price, including destination fee, and all additions: $34,500
Sales Tax (7%) - but I had a $2,500 trade in, which lowered the tax a little)
Title, License, and misc other fees: $450 (NJ)

We were happy with the deal!

Based on the information I have gathered from the other forum about Honda Care, the 8yr/120k mile plan ($0 deductible) has a dealer cost of $1295. In essence, you overpaid by $205 dollars.

I personally emailed the three dealerships about Honda Care for my 2012 Odyssey w/RES and got a quote of $1295 from Bernardi Honda and Saccucci Honda and $1270 from Hyannis Honda. Hope this helps.
  • dinehsdinehs Member Posts: 11
Congratulation. I think $29,480+ is very good deal for EX-L. I have been trying to locate a good deal in OH, MI, IN, or FL stats for EX-L w/RES without any luck. I just don’t understand why EX-L can be discounted where the w/RES cannot! The RES should only add $1,600 at the most (retail price). If anyone has been able to get below $32,000+ for EX-L w/REST, please let me know the dealer name.
  • erdocerdoc Member Posts: 10
if you want Nav and RES, you have to get Touring or higher. the Touring models also comes in a 6 speed rather than the 5 speed which gives a little extra mpg efficiency. the 4-5K is MSRP. the actual cost is less, more like 1600-2K. i bought the Touring because i needed both NAV and RES, hope that helps.
  • erdocerdoc Member Posts: 10
Just bought a 2012 Touring in Chicagoland area today

    base+dest: $37,046
some BS add ons (splash guard+door trim guard): $264
    doc fee+ filing fee: $186
    + 9.5% tax on above: $3,563
    license plate fee: $194
    -$500 dealer incentive cash
    total OTD price :$40,753

I did it all online over span of 2 weeks via e-mail..... unless you like a million phone calls from everyone from every dealership you contact. ask for itemized OTD pricing. a price means nothing unless you know whats in it, ie, tax rate, add ons, include destination, etc. once i got some good prices i made them compete amongst themselves. i called the dealer i chose the day of and made appointment to buy. no problems really. the only thing was they originally quoted a price $500 less than what i listed above. when i got there they said that price included $500 dealer incentive cash, but the taxable total would be $500 more, then they subtracted $500 off the final price at the end. doing it that way its about a $50 difference @9.5%.

i financed the whole thing. 0.9% for 36 months. i would recommend to trade in if they dont lowball your trade (which they almost always do). it will reduce your principal and save on total amount taxed. they know this and will emphasize what youre saving in taxes and lower amount owed. just make sure you understand that they will give you a great sale price if they can make a killing on your trade in. Know what your trade is worth! i love this forum, it has helped my buy all of my cars below invoice. i hope this helps anyone who is looking to buy, and its a great time to buy!
  • jking2012jking2012 Member Posts: 5
Just to clarify the EX-L comes with NAV and RES (both optional). It is not just the touring model.
  • erdocerdoc Member Posts: 10
yes, the EX-L does have NAV or RES but not both. as far as i know, you cannot get an EX-L (5 speed auto) with both NAV and RES. if you want both NAV and RES, you have to purchase Touring or Touring Elite, and thus the price increase. the post asked if it was worth it. you have no choice if you want both. if i could have bought an EX-L with both NAV and RES for cheaper than the Touring, i probably would have, but it doesnt exist.

We are planning to buy Oddesey EXL this weekend but still confused about the price part,so far the best quote we got was from Gwinnett Team Honday for $35,600 driveout price. Can anyone help me in finding a good dealer who can give a better deal than this.We are new to Atlanta and are not sure where to buy from?Is the quote which the Gwinnett Honday gave is the best or can i wait for some more time to get a better deal.Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
  • jking2012jking2012 Member Posts: 5
Is it a regular EX-L or with NAV / RES? Anyway, I don't know what is the Atlanta Taxes but other than that price seems a little bit high. I think that people posting here is getting as an overall the EXL at the base price of $30,500-$31,000 approx including the destination fee (approx $810) to that you should just add your taxes and documentation fees.

I'll advise you to look for all honda dealers in a 200 miles radius and request quotes from all of them. Once you have an email from a dealer with a decent offer, email the rest of the dealers and tell them you already have a quote with X price and ask if they can beat it. Always ask for an email so you can document the offer. If a better quote is receive keep doing the same until you are sure that nobody can beat that price.

Be aware that they will try to sell you the extended warranty. You should not pay more than $1300. Don't get caught on this. The same thing they are offering you; you can buy somewhere else. Read the previous threads for more info.

    Enjoy your shopping
  • dinehsdinehs Member Posts: 11
I agree with jking2012. Based on my own research, it is not the best price. I would even look for $30K-$30.5K for EX-L including destination fee. There are so many of them out and dealers want to lower their inventory as 2013 models are almost out.

Thanks jking2012 for the extended warranty advice. I will definitely use it.
  • mishty1mishty1 Member Posts: 4
Its a EXL with Rear Entertainment System $32,018 plus Destination fee $823 AND 7% Tax & Documentation fee of $500 so iam still confused if i need to get the $823 included in $32,018.I emailed all the dealers in Atlanta and this is the lowest quote i got from Curry Honda Team which is $32,018 plus taxes, documentation fee and destination fee
  • jking2012jking2012 Member Posts: 5
Yes, the destination fee should be included in the $32K at least. I really think that you can get a better deal. I am not sure how much the RES adds to the base price of the EX-L but I will say like another $1300 at max. That will put you at $31,600 including destination fees.

That is my guess, my advice, keep looking. I really think that more than $1k for RES is a lot. Try expanding your search to other areas. Maybe even another state.

    Hope this helps.
