Hi Iono37. I am also in LI and looking for an EX-L RES. What dealer did you get the $29,495 quote from? I assume that it is for an EX-L without DVD. Thanks!
  • lono37lono37 Member Posts: 5
    Portpilot,

Huntington Honda, and yes, it's without RES. Baron in Patchogue offered something close to that price as well, although it wasn't clear whether that included destination charges, etc. I'd be interested to hear how you make out.
  • stowoastowoa Member Posts: 2
    No Res or Nav.
  • copygirl1copygirl1 Member Posts: 5
Hi. This car has everything except for the NAV and RES. It's MSRP is 33,045 or so. Invoice is 29,704 (?). What can I expect to pay? The dealership had no problem when I told them we could get it for $30 at another dealer, but I'm thinking $29 would work b/c of the incentive. Maybe I'm a little off. Oh, and yes, the car is in MASS.

I bought mine on 04/01/06, the base price was $28,031, I am in NJ.
  • copygirl1copygirl1 Member Posts: 5
I've seen that base price for 2WD, cloth and no extras, but not with leather. That's unbeleivable. Are you saying you paid even less than that? Wow.

One more thing, I have 3 year/36000mi free oil change
  • copygirl1copygirl1 Member Posts: 5
I'm not being obnoxious, I just wanted to know exactly what you purchased, only because I know I'm not the only one out there who has never heard of such a steal for a fully-loaded EX-L (sans the nav and res). And how you swung the free oil change is unheard of, too- kudos! After all, isn't this the place to go to confer with other buyers?
  • pilotexl06pilotexl06 Member Posts: 5
The price is for 2006 Honda Pilot 4WD EXL.

Here is the link, you can check the deal yourself, it is still the same price as last week, the free oil change promotion ended this week.

Hi there, it is a 2006 Pilot 2WD EXL. The dealer is in Maryland. I sent couple emails to the Dealer and they replied very fast showing honest and courtesy. I called them to have a test drive but had the price in my mind if they wanted to sell the car to me that day. After test drive, I just simply asked I was here for a final and best price. The salesman gave me the price ($1900 under invoice + $550= $27309) upfront without attempting to ask what was my offering. His quote was very close to my price and I couldn't pass it up. So, I placed my order immediately. Very smooth buying process. First time oil change is free and every fifth free after. Free life time car wash.

Just bought my 06 Pilot W/DVD. Base was $30,600, found it as low as $30,200 but added almost $2000 worth of acc. Chrome exhaust, chrome side steps, door mirror covers, cargo tray, cross bars, back up sensors (4), rear splash guards, wheel locks, all season mats. Got a fair trade in. All and all a good experience, did everything via the internet.

Thanks to all for your shared information.

What was the interest rate that open road was able to get for you? I assume that in order to get the free oil changes you had to finance through them. Thanks.
  • pilotexl06pilotexl06 Member Posts: 5
It was a 'cash' deal. You don't need to finance through them to get the free oil change or free remote starter.

$1900 under invoice sounds like a really good deal. I am in the market for the same car. Can you tell me if you had a trade in and/or you financed thru them. What is the name of the dealer? I am in northern virginia, but would not mind picking it up in MD.
    Thanks!

We live in the midwest and are looking to find out what folks are paying for a 2006 EX L AWD with DVD. I am also interested in any thoughts of front wheel versus AWD. Our winters are unpredictable but not terribly snowy.

    Hi,

I am shopping for EX-L with Nav on it. There are two dealer installed extras, a running board and and cross bar. I have received a quote of $31994, out of the door. I live in Maryland where state taxes are 5%. Is it a good price? Also, what is the best color to choose. Any suggestions??? Also, dealer told me something about 4WD that I didn't quite understand. He said that 4WD works only when you have less than 18 miles/hour speed. Above that it is two wheel drive? What does it mean?

    Coolie

re:"dealer told me something about 4WD that I didn't quite understand. He said that 4WD works only when you have less than 18 miles/hour speed."

could you or the dealer be mistaking Traction Control? Because that does work only at lower speeds. As for AWD, that couldn't be right.
  • luvasuvluvasuv Member Posts: 14
The AWD Pilot allows you to 'lock it' in 4WD. The restriction on this is that it only works up to 18MPH. Above that, I'm pretty sure that the AWD automatically kicks in on acceleration and when there is any slipping of the main drive in the front wheels.

On 4/1 I purchased an '06 Pilot AWD EX-L w/Navigation from Grand Honda in Elmhurst, Ill. I paid $30,797 including destination but excluding Sales Tax, Registration, Title, etc. I negotiated the price over the phone with their internet manager after previous e-mails with him. He was very low key(non-agressive) and easy to work with. It pays to purchase this way because I saw walk-in buyers who were not prepared sparring over purchase prices and trade-in values while I was there to pick it up. Be prepared!

    It is ODonell Honda.

I found the info on this board very useful prior to looking for a Pilot in Houston this week, thought I'd reciprocate. Got a price of 30,500 for EXL/DVD/AWD (inc. delivery), $32,667.00 drive-out with 6.25% TX sales tax. With top-tier credit I could get a .00068 money factor/12K/36mo./55% residual lease, but they lose their $1000 from Honda at that money factor (special lease program at that rate which is only 1.6%, they showed me fairly convincing Honda literature-I almost believe them. They were willing to lease at the 30,500 price but money factor would be standard something like .0024 or 5.9% which was a difference of 2 or 3K) so price was 31,500, still $260 or so below invoice. I took the low money factor and 31,500. Payment came to 445/mo. with side step and inside bicycle attachments (which are really cool if you have an expensive bike) and only 1000 up front. Used Goodson West internet guys, low pressure and no add-ons. Decent experience. Of note, very few AWDs in Houston. If you want 2WD, inventory is REALLY high. They'll be happy to make $50 a vehicle to clear their lots. Anyway, hope this helps-it's a great vehicle.

Just noticed some nice looking prices for 4WD EX-Ls in New Hampshire at the Berlin City, Gorham, NH dealership -- posted online at $28,545 at http://www.berlincity.com/ -- any recent price experiences in new england EX-Ls?

Is the leather dealer installed? Leather is not a factory option on the LX.

    Just bought
    2006 EXL AWD Pittsburgh
With splash guards and pin stripe
    28,400 plus tax and title
    Price sound ok?
  • driveindrivein Member Posts: 15
Is that with or without RES or NAV?
  • aspesisteveaspesisteve Member Posts: 833
I'm sure he would of included RES or NAV in the info if it was included - so I guess no.

and yes, that sounds like a great deal to me.

it's making me want to send out the e-mails and go for it.

What prices have been paid for the Pilot EX-L in the L.A. Area ???

The local dealer (Fresno, CA.) said that LA dealers sell their Piolts for what Fresno area dealers purchase them for..... The price quote for the EX-L (no nav or res) was $29,500.00.

I've heard a quote from the L.A. area for 28,225.00.... IF SO..... WHAT DEALER(s) is this from ???

    Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
  • hvackennydhvackennyd Member Posts: 5
That sounds like a great deal as well as a great way to shop. I used to enjoy the back and forth nonsense with the dealer, but I've grown out of that phase :) I live in the area(Orland Park,IL) and am preparing to start shopping. Did you shop other dealers in the area as well? I noticed the Grand Honda ad in the newspaper and must say, it might be worth the drive! Thanks, Ken
  • zaphodxzaphodx Member Posts: 3
Leather is dealer installed for 1400/-. I checked with other dealers and the price they gave was about 50$ above or below.
  • smith1smith1 Member Posts: 283
From the deals being discussed I'm guessing the $1000 incentive to dealers remains in effect in April....is that correct?
  • sobotkaksobotkak Member Posts: 1
That appears to be a great price for the Chicago Land Area. We are also looking to purchase a new Pilot and live near Elmhurst. Do you have any further information on the salesman you dealt with on the internet?

Did you get any subsidized financing from Honda?

It was a tossup between Grand Honda and Honda of Lisle...either was willing to deal for my business and over the internet until the final details were to be resolved. I also contacted Valley Honda but I thought their Sales Mgr was to pushy for calling me personally rather than initiating contact via e-mail as I preferred.
  • drjlbphddrjlbphd Member Posts: 2
That is exactly what I want to pay. Was the destination charge ($550) factored into your price? What dealership did you use? Thanks.
  • davidromdavidrom Member Posts: 1
    Hello,

This model seems to have an invoice price of $31,179. I am curious what folks have been paying for 2006 EXL's with Navi in the greater boston area.

    Thanks
  • brokedudebrokedude Member Posts: 13
I don't know bout the Boston area, but I just took delivery on one in NYC for $31000 which included the destination but no TTL.
  • copygirl1copygirl1 Member Posts: 5
Trying to be helpful here, so bare with me. I just bought the EX-L without the RES or NAV and invoice was at 29,300 or so. Keep in mind that the $1000 incentive is still out there (at least it was on Saturday). Best bet in Boch Honda in Norwood - this is the 3rd time I purchased from them- great experience and they are the only dealership that has always had what I wanted (I wanted white- somewhat difficult to find on the lot as an EX-L). Since I can't say the guy's name, he is the only one from Queens and was awesome- would use again. If you had to go into Natick or Westboro, I would recommend you take this info- they insulted me with the trade-in AND on the new car.

Just wondering about prices in the NW. Portland/Vancouver area. We were quoted at around $32700. Does that sound like a good deal around here. They didn't have the color that we wanted so we are getting the first one that comes into the NW. also is that $1000 incentive also valid in the NW? I have not found/heard anything about it. Help please...

Any one recently bought EX-L 4W drive in New York-Westchester county/NJ area? Wondering how much people are paying for EX-L these day as I am planning to buy or lease one later this month.
  • lono37lono37 Member Posts: 5
We just bought a 2006 EX-L 4WD on Long Island - $29,195, dealer ate the destination charge and other dealer fees, we just had to add in tax, title, and plates. Nardy Honda in St. James, very low pressure, dealt through internet/e-mail and was in and out of the dealer in 90 minutes.

Just took delivery of my 2006 EXL 2WD (sage brush pearl) with no navi or DVD tonight from Goodson Honda West in Houston. $27808 including destination, so it's $1394 below invoice. Sent emails to 3 local Honda dealers through edmunds last Friday, got the lowest bid from Goodson, was able to had the internet sales manager lowered another $200 to make the deal. Went over there on last Saturday afternoon to test drive, left $150 security deposit. I bought splash guards, wheel locks, and cargo tray for $250 from the dealer. I know it's a rip-off, but it's ok. Out the door price was $30066. The overall experience was good. I probably could have saved $200 or $300 if I got the dealers into a bidding war, but I didn't have time to play the game. I am happy with the deal and very happy with my new ride.

This site has been beneficial in my research for purchasing a new 2006 Honda Pilot EX-L w/ rear mud guards and so I thought I'd return the favor. I purchased in Jacksonville, FL with no trade-in and independent financing (USAA). No monkey-business from the dealership (Coggin).

    Cash price: $27,852
    Amt due dealer: $30,554

    Good luck.

I recently purchased a 2006 exl w/nav awd in Portland. I shared some of the pricing info from these forums at Beaverton Honda and I couldn't even get a quote. They were extremely rude. I ended up paying 32,500 out the door at Thomason Honda.

what kind of fees you paid to Goodson Honda West ?
