Some colors are metallic and some aren't (white, red, jet black).. Metallic isn't necessarily better, but if the color you want is metallic, then they charge an extra $475 for it..
So... pick the color you like.. if it is more, it's more..
Thats a very good deal if 36,000 includes MACO and destination. The Invoice for your vehicle is $35,825. So its as good as getting it at the invoice price!
Just dont let the dealer add any other charges to it and it will be an awesome deal as per me.
Yes, 30,030 is the 325xi base invoice price as listed by Edmunds, once you get the detail report, which I suspect you have already done on your 330i research. If you check out www.Bimmerfest.com, you may be amazed at the documents posted by some members. I even got a pdf 2006 325xi owner's manual there when none is available at bmwusa.com. What I found amusing was the dealer product info which compared competitors and gave demographics of us, the prospective buyers.
Hi all, this forum really helped me a lot in negotiating the deal with my bmw dealer. here is the offer: 2006 3.25i silver titanium metallic exterior black letherette aluminium trim sports package automatic transmission power seats
The MSRP for this car is $36,015 and the invoice according to Edmunds is around $32,800 (despite the dealer claims that its is around $33,315).
The dealer offered me $34,315 and another $3000 which is for sales tax, two other taxes that i did not know of, processing fee of 299 and lic. fee of 95.
My questions are 1. is this a good price. edmunds tells me that the invoice is around 32,800 but the dealer claims that it is 33,315. should i trust the info on edmunds or the dealer?
2. in addition to 7% sales tax, the dealer came up with two other taxes of $200. can you advice on what are all the taxes that i should pay?
3. is a processing fee of $299 reasonable? does everybody pay that?
You should deal for a price that includes EVERYTHING. After you have agreed on a figure, the only things you should pay for is the TTL (TAX, TITLE and LICENSE).
I think you should pay around 33300 (you are giving him a profit of $500 straight here but its reasonable) + Tax (looks like its 7% in your state...its 8.25 in Cali ) + Title and License (around $350)...not a penny more!
I myself had talked to a dealer and the first figure he gave me was 1200 over invoice. The only additional charges he had put was some doc fee of $50. If I wud have negotiated, I wud have easily got him to 500 over invoice (considering his first offer was 1200 over invoice). Also, he did not apply any other charges to me. He said 1200 over invoice + TTL + 50 (doc fee).
"3. is a processing fee of $299 reasonable? does everybody pay that?"
No way, do not pay that fee! It is suppose to cover them doing a credit check on you that costs all but $25 (heck, you can get one free). This is a big time scam that many states allow. I live in Virginia and they allow this ridiculous fee but since I'm only 20 miles from Maryland where they only charge $50 by law (last time I checked) I usually just do my entire car shopping in that state. Offer him/her $50 for the processing fee or just demand the difference off the final price of the car if they resist.
What is the best money factor and residual out there today for leasing a 325 2006 for 24 and 36 months, does anyone have those numbers? Also GMC and others have early termination deals on leases. BMW will pay 3 months to get me out my lease. Where does that money come from and should that be excluded in any deal I make for the new car.
What I don't want to hear from the dealer is, well we paid off your old lease that you stilled owed 1500 on so we can't move on the new car price. Any experience.
I want to lease the 330i for 24 months and 10k miles in San Francisco. Below are the costs that I have gathered from the message board. Please let me know if my understanding of these items is correct:
Destination $695 (this is part of the invoice price, so you have to pay it)? Acquisition fee $625 (you have to pay)? MACO- around 1% of invoice (you have to pay)? Training- $180 (you have to pay)? Dealer mark-up $500 to $700 (would be a good deal)? Residual 77% Money factor 0.00195
Cure: for your 2006 325i 28,300 silver titanium metallic exterior 430 black leatherette NC aluminum trim NC sports package (ZSP)1455 automatic transmission 1210 power seats 905 Destination 695 Unless my math is wrong, the total is 32,995. If the dealer tries to pull a fast one, and takes the base of 28,300 then adds the LIST price of each option  , then you get 33,340 total. Trust the Edmunds info. You can confirm this by going to another dealer...you may not get a better deal, but they will probably not misquote the invoice price.

a few days ago, i received a great quote over the phone on a 325i from a local dealer. when i went there, he quoted me a price that was $1800 higher than on the phone. I was upset, finally he came down on his price by $200 (which is ~ 400 dollars over invoice for that car). i did not buy the car from him because of the difference between the initial and final offer.
i got the same quote (~400 over invoice) at another dealer, and so i put down my fully refundable deposite (the car is on its way here). now, the 1st dealer just emailed me and sounded like he wants to re-negotiate.
most of me feel that i should stick to the deal i already have and not bother. but a little part of me wonder if he was going to give me a better deal. what do people think?
Has anyone had actual driving experience in both the 325xi and the 325i and is the xi worth the $2,000.extra? I am 84 and want to have a really great last car as I still drive 8 - 10M miles per year. I know my grandkids will love either one after I'm gone, but does the AWD make any difference here on Long Island, NY.
I say stay away from the guy who's playing games. Even if he now comes in a little lower, he shouldn't be rewarded with your business after using those tactics. Just my two cents.
I agree with bdr127 and jaj. The first guy should not be rewarded the business after he played game on you. Who knows what he is gonna do next? Stick you with some bogus fees? On the other hand, $400 over invoice is a very good deal already, in fact, among the lowest I've seen on this board. How much lower do you expect? $200 as he originally quoted you? Is it worth all the trouble to go back and forth between two dealers and your being unfair to the second guy?
I went to Grayson BMW in Knoxville Tennessee and traded my Hyundai Sonota - did not have much equity into car and Hyundai was going thru new mgmt. changes...
Anyway I did NOT expect to come out with a new car when at dealer...almost had 10,000 miles on Sonota and knew had to trade...
What I got.
$10K down included exterior protection and tire warranty $202 a month lease payments 24 month lease 20,000 miles on lease
I guess 7 out of 8 cars at this delaer - it seems smart people are doing leases...as less cost...
All Maint. is covered except tire balanced and rotation and wheel alignment...at 15,000 I go in for tune up and BMW pays for it and everything is covered....
The cost of the car was $36K silver metallic 325i sedan 2006 with 20 miles on car
$10k for a 24-month lease translates to about $417 a month, plus $202 you are paying $619 a month for the car. Quite expensive I would say. However, I bet you must be in an up-side-down position on your Hyundai since it is only 10k miles old. Much of your down pay could be for penalty to get out of lease early or covering negative equity. Wondering was there any issue on your Sonata? Otherwise, why did Hyundai's changing management lead you to change car? Breaking a lease early or sell a 1 year-old car is always a money losing proposition.
Finally, advice for future lease: put little or no down payment. You'd be better off putting that money in a saving account and withdraw a proportion every month. Paying high down pay can never be a good idea. Should the car is totaled tomorrow, you lose all of the down payment. It is not your equity, but is called "capitalized cost reduction".
Also I forgot to mention in my 1st post that all new BMWs come with the free 4-yr maintenance. I hope the SA didn't try to convince you that you were getting an even better deal because you got the free maintenance.
I just got a deal for a 30 month lease for a 2006 330xi with premium, xenon, cold weather and sirius satellite hookup pre-wired and 12k/yr for $574/month with $1,650 to pickup car.. Includes TTL/doc fee, bank fee.. Waived my disposition charge and security deposit because I just returned my leased vehicle. Comments please.. I don't know the money factor or anything just the price/term and OTD pickup money... Comments please... Am about to pull the trigger... The MSRP of the vehicle is 43,520.00
GET IT. I just ran the numbers and you are getting a very nice deal. If you extend your lease to 36 mos you should lower your payment about $27 @ month. If it doesnt, just take the deal at hand.
I have run the numbers for a 325i lease. Using the residual of 77%, money factor of .0025. A MSRP 34365 24 month lease, 10000 miles. I offered to pay monthly approx 370 that included the 6.6% sales tax. They come back with this 480 number!!. They said I must not be taking into account fees?!?! Come on. I am putting 1650 down.
What am I missing if anything. . I am offering 750 over invoice or 32315>
This seems so typical. He also told me that I must be getting bad information on the residual, but I believe the 77% is solid. As typical in the auto sales industry the sales rep has been trained to ignore facts, or try to confuse them and get the most money out of a person they can.
Thanks for the info. I just got another quote for $37245, plus $173 doc fee and $60 reg. Does that still seem a bit high? How close should I be to the $37000 mark? Would this$37000 also include all fees? Thanks in advance.

I was not, doc fees are 348, I do not need a security deposit as I have a current BMW lease, First month payment would be 370, Licensing fees are cheap here in Mo. Property tax is charge in Missouri, but was not figured in my last lease. BMW pays it and sends me a bill for it lump sum do at lease closing or at any time before the lease ends.
I think 37200 including everything will be a good deal. The extra fees are ways the dealers try to make up for the low price they offer you. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS MAKE A DEAL THAT INCLUDES EVERYTHING!
Coz what you see is the "$37245" figure. The additional $233 makes it $37500. So you are $500 off your price and its a straight profit to the dealer (in addition to what he is already making).
I would say, if the dealer is good, 37200 should be a decent price. If he is not coming down, ask him for free mats, polo shirt, chrome keychain etc.
If he not even ready for that, show him the middle finger!

Deal sealed at $37374. Dealer is well known. Should the deal have come with a jar of vaseline or did I do ok? I was trying for an even $37000 but in NY/NJ I felt it was hard to get to this number. 6-8 week delivery.
