Out the door for a Honda CRV EXL 2010 $27160 Included cargo tray and
all the perks with the EXL (2) free oil changes and maybe a honda shirt for my
wife if the salesman keeps his promise. That price included tax tag tranfer
They offered extended warranty about $1500 which we turned down. We
called Gieco Insurance they offer extended warranty on new car about $20
every six months coverage to $100,000 miles we are researching this. We
live in central Florida. Any one get a better price?

Looks like an excellent deal. Where did you get this deal? Can you tell us the price before the tax and tags? I couldn't get any better than $26,200 before taxes +tags.

The price on the warranty is great. What state are you in? Do you have a Honda Care Package? I just got off the phone with Honda Financial Svces b/c I recently paid off my Acura. What does the 6yr./72,000 miles cover (bumper to bumper? just pwertrain). What dealer did you work with ? You can email me at cverdi08@gmail.com

Hi Id like to buy a new Honda CR-V 2010 EX 4WD . Can any one tell me OTD price of this vehicle in OH. I am quoted $25000 as OTD (includes, destination, title, doc plus taxes). Any feed back is very much appreciated.
  • uzitouzito Member Posts: 11
Recent price quotes for 2010 CR-V EX 4WD I got in NJ were from 22700 to 23300 for the car + $710 dest fee + variable doc fees. Lower car price usually gets compensated by high doc fee, so I'd say average is $23k.

In the market for a new CRV (currently own a 2003). Visited a local dealer on June 4 and clearly said - not ready to buy only wanted to look and test drive which I got to do without any pressure to talk money at all. Obviously had to give name and contact info and have received a few emails from salesman and internet manager (who we did not meet). Responded to second message and explained I was still thinking and not in a rush. continued to get some emails. Received the following message on Friday from the internet manager:

"We are currently 25 deals away from where we wanted to be for the month. Bring your best legitimate deal to my managers in our showroom, select any in stock vehicle that matches what your deal is on and we will give you an even better deal! My managers are not turning down ANY reasonable offers this weekend! What time is going to work best for you today or tomorrow?"

My questions a bit naive I suppose:

    1) "Bring your best legit deal" - does that mean we need to have a deal in writing from another dealership? we dont have one or can we just go in and make an offer?

    2) to make an offer how much lower should we start from the Edmunds.com TMV? MSRP = 25,095 Invoice = 23,348 TMV = 23,678 transportation = 710

    3) We have no trade and will pay cash - shouldn't that get us a good deal?

    thanks in advance!

It's just advertising... The e-mail doesn't mean anything, other than they have your e-mail address and they are trying to sell cars..

No trade and paying cash will make things simpler for you, and make it harder for them to obscure what you are paying for the car... That's a good thing... But, it won't necessarily get you a better price on the car..

Car dealers make a lot of money selling financing, accessories, extended warranties, etc.. If they think they won't see any of that profit from you, they may not discount the car quite as much... That's why you should shop around for the best price...

did you buy a CRV and if so from what dealership? we are in Boston MetroWest and are getting ready to deal for a 2010 CRV EX AWD, just wondering who to avoid in your opinion and who to deal with if you don't mind sharing
  • jo14jo14 Member Posts: 12
    thanks for the quick response!

disappointing to know that we may will not be considered a good customer because they can't make money off of us.

so to shop around for the best price - do you recommend visitng dealerships or asking for intenrnet quotes?

Some people have great luck shopping for Hondas over the internet... Personally, I have six Honda dealers within a 30 minute drive of where I live... I try to get a good idea of what I'm willing to pay, then go see if I can make a deal.. I'm a good customer, because I'm willing and able to close a deal, when I get what I want... I'm a bad customer, because what I want doesn't leave a lot of profit for the dealership..

And...paying cash doesn't make you a bad customer.. But, dealerships are like any other business.. They want to make the most money possible. You want to pay the least amount possible... but, both of you need to complete a sale to get what you want... It can work, but if you want a cheap price, you have to work at it..

    regards,

I just purchased a 2010 Honda CR-V EX and turned down the extended warranty at the dealership. I was pressured to make my decision if I wanted the extended warranty or not on the spot. We got him to go down to $960 for a company called Reliability for the warranty but was told by my ins. agent that we will be offered it again. He did not even give us time to read though the terms/policies of the warranty.

I live in Long Island, NY. Who else got an extended warranty? If so, where did you get it and for what price. I am asking b/c my 2003 Acura 3.2 Tl transmission died and if I did not have the extended warranty I would have been in the hole for $3500.00. Also, even if we purchase the warrant and they decide to trade in the care in a few years will the warranty help in resale value? Thank you

Go for Honda Care extended warranty.
You can get 8 years / 120.000 miles plan for CR-V EX from online dealers like http://www.saccuccihondacare.com for around $1070 with $0 deductible.

Honda Care can be transferred to a new owner for a nominal fee (about $50).

You have time until you get 6000 miles on your car to decide whether you want to buy it or not.

I got an internet quote from American Express car buying service for a 2010 Honda CR-V EX 4WD for $22,379 (destination included), but the dealer is 400 miles away.

I have talked to the lead, and she stated that they are a high volume dealer and can not reserve a car with a deposit. This made me a little unsettled. I offered to buy the car over the phone, and then pick it up at my convenience, to which sales person replied that she needed to make sure the color combination was in deed in stock. She called back an hour later to tell me that they no longer had the color combination we were originally quoted, however they have another color for the same price.

Has anyone bought from Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburgh, VA?

The price seems too good to be true.

American Express states that there will be no further negotiations needed, once dealer posts the price through American Express web site.

Just picked up my new black with black interior CRV-EX AWD for 23,657. OTD excluding state sales tax and RMV fees.

Breakdown was 23,262 for car (MSRP was 25,095 and transportation was 780 for a total of 25,875), 100 for splash guards installed (original price was 123.57 with 10% off if purchased at sale and we offered 100 and they said yes), plus 295 for docs.

Did a combo internet/phone deal with first dealership and got the 23,262 price but when we went in the salesman was a little obnoxious so we walked out. Called another dealership and asked for best price - they said 24,100 and we said we would buy today with cash for 23,262 and they agreed provided we took a car on their lot and not ask for them to do a search.

I think we did okay because TMV for our area was 24,388 and Consumer Reports Pricing Service quoted 24,128.

Just bought a CRV-EX AWD for my wife this past Saturday for about $23,585(price + destination + Docs). After some back and forth I also got them to throw in a free Moonroof visor at that price(suppose to be a $200 value from the dealer's price list).

Here is the break down of the cost:

    Car was $22,437.38
    Destination was $750
    Doc Fee was $398.00

Tax and Title were extra of course.

My price is pretty similar to what the last poster posted. Seem prices will drop a bit further as inventories are cleaned out for 2010.

I am going to buy a new CR-V 2WD EX-L. Does it have parking sensors? If not, how much do I need to pay for them usually?
  • neonbrightneonbright Member Posts: 4
No they do not come equip with parking sensors, you have to pay extra to have them installed. I am not sure how much installed but they cost $528.00
  • uzitouzito Member Posts: 11
You can check how much it would cost to buy any accessories with and without installation at your local dealer using http://estore.honda.com

According to www.dealerrater.com they are a well rated dealer. I'd have them prepare the paperwork, fax it to you and if it is as you expect (year/model/colors/options/mileage), setup a closing date. This car is a commodity. It's not going to disappear. There's a new one every day. There's no such thing as a limited time offer. Just take your time. Keep us posted.

By the way, I see they have a doc fee of $399, so adjust the quote accordingly.

Just cut a deal with a NJ top rated dealer: 25822(car)+255(doc)+tax+title
Best regional quote was: 25063+399(doc)+tax+title but that was 225 miles away.

FYI: I had (still have) a backup quote on CRV EX-L 4WD of: 26089(car)+xxx from an East Stroudsburg dealer. Out the door, the total was the same (100 more) than the deal I cut. And, I've only good things to say about this dealer.

Hi, Very new to this site. NY dealership I was quoted EXL no NAV- 28500 with the Triple AAA discount- 27015- all in 29677 which seems high. Help. Thank you
  • markhousemanmarkhouseman Member Posts: 5
Why don't you go to a site such as cars.com and see if you can get a better quote. I purchased my vehicle this way and got a price that was about 4% below the stated dealer cost plus tax and tags.
  • 2010_crv_exl2010_crv_exl Member Posts: 19
A (2-day old) NJ price for 2010 CR-V EX-L 4WD (no nav) out-the-door price is 28234. Had (still have) another for 28389. Could have done 500 better if I was willing to drive. So I'd say your price (as you sense) is high. But then, that's what you'd expect.

    Hi,

I'm new to this forum and to Hondas. I live in Maine and have been researching CRVs. Found a 2007 EX, assembled in Japan, with 58K miles for $18K. However, when I pulled a Carfax report, it showed the previous driver hit a deer which damaged the front of the car.

If the car had not been in an accident, is this a good price? Even though the car has been in an accident, should I still consider it and if so, is the current price fair?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

That's a pretty good price. Can you give me the breakdown of the out-of-the door price. Could you please provide me with the dealer information? Were you able to negotiate any free accessories with that price?
