That's similar to what I'm experiencing, I'm going to check my speedo to see if it is accurate - is your Liberty a 2005 or 2006.
I did a search of the codes on this site and the infamous EGR rose its ugly head.
Two questions:
1.) What would you use to "clean" the EGR?
2.) How would you clear out the error codes?
Since our EGR is, I believe, a little different this side of the pond, comments and experiences from other would be appreciated...especially if this is going to be a maintenance issue every +/- 20K miles.

1-) I would use a petroleum distillate such as "White Spirit" paint thinner. Avoid using acetone, synthetic paint thinner or gasoline.
I think it's best to immerge the metal part of the valve in the thinner and remove the contaminant when it's wet (soaked) using a 1/2" round paint brush. Never use the edge of a steel object to clean a valve or it's seat.
2-) I read that the ECU removes the error codes after 40 "non-occurences". This might take care of the OBD stuff.
Since I've not yet repared/cleaned mine, I don't know what the guiding part of the valve looks like. Could we propose to use a small stainless steel bellows to seal out the stem and bushing :confuse: The known alternative today is the rotary valve proposed by Siemens. It's just a bit more expensive...
The wear (increase) of the gap between the stem and guide will allow future contamination to occur more rapidly. Perhaps a graphite bushing and titanium coating of the stem could be faster fix?
Once you have the valve in hand, don't forget to try it. You have to make shure it responds to a few volts. I think 5 VDC is sufficient to see it move. The manual calls for a 12 Volt check light...
On "this side of the pond" as you say, the second hand market of recent diesel vehicles is not doing well because of excessive cost for maintenance and obligation to have service done by costly "specialists". A few people are already saying we went too far with this type of engine and emissions controller.
The same company offers biodiesel processing kits.

Eventually this crd amy be a real special highly wanted Jeep, like the 4 door Wrangler, Dakar from 1997. DCX did not sell many of those either.

But I thought I'd post my experience with my '05 built in March 2005. Although I got an EGR and reflash at 6,000 miles (light came on and the dealer didn't quibble one bit), I now have 19,700 miles and haven't had any problems. No shudders, no brake problems, no nuttin'. It's so boring.
Mileage has been a reliable 21.5-22.0 city and on a 3,450 mile road trip from MN to SC through the Appalachians and Piedmonts we averaged 29.6 for the entire jouney.
Went 790 miles round trip last weekend and averaged 30.4.
Went from Minneapolis to Pierre, SD and back again yesterday and averaged 30.2
I don't baby it. I don't beat on it either. I think it's an amazing little machine!

Remember the premise of Dukes of Hazard? Anyone remember the song Copperhead Road? For the old timers, how about the classic song Rocky Top? This is serious business with serious consequences that is being taken a little too lightly.
For those that think this is new, big government issue...open your history books. What's one of the first police actions George Washington took out on his own people? You guessed it, a group of farmers who would not pay taxes on their whiskey, AKA the Whiskey Rebellion Whiskey Rebellion
If you think that the government is going to differentiate your still from Seagrams or from Jessie Dukes, you may be in for a rude awakening.
...that doesn't mean that it isn't fun scheming about fightin' the man!

The discussion about using biodiesel rapidly aborted !
If so what do you think of it?
How about any other Module?
No. The dumbest deer in the world reside in Wisconsin.
I've never in my life driven through a place where, when they hear you coming (and they do when you have a CRD) they run TOWARD YOU instead of away. It's like a Saturday night live skit.
You could also just drive to DCX headquarters in Auburn Hills and ask them what the problem is!
I have a June 2005 Black CRD Limited that I bought in Southfield. 27,000 miles and lovin it. Been to Chicago, the Upper Peninsula, Mackinaw and Myrtle Beach. Getting 23 to 28 MPG. Still need to install Mopar skids this summer.
Using Walmart Rotella 5W40 and PS only in the winter. My Wranglers are still in great shape and performing well even when I swerved to miss a deer on I-69.
No need for the dealer until now. Got a P0410 according to my dash and P0401 according to the mechanic. EGR time for me! Waiting a week for parts to arrive. Still driving it but acceleration is poor now. Not happy with dealer: one rookie and one "pro" in the diesel dept. No updates from service unless I call. Considering looking for another dealer.
I could help but that voice in my head say "Now here's your sign."
Cheers,
