Yes... $25900 is including destination charge. I just had to add taxes and an allowance of $150 for license and registration. I got the price thanks to Timeshock's earlier post. I think dealers are looking to make $1500 over invoice ($24691) on the TSX but since the TL came out, maybe they are more willing to budge. When I gave the salesman the price, he just straight out accepted it so maybe you can even get it a lil lower. It also helps to go on a day when business is slow and an hour before closing. From previous car buys, I've found dealers are just so willing to make a sale.

Thanks Madatrub! I'll try to get a deal as good as yours!

Kagedude, thanks for the info. Just curious whether you went through the dealers on the floor or if you worked with the internet sales manager. I've heard thru others that you are better off going through the internet sales managers. We have two Acura dealerships here and I am trying to figure out how to go about getting the best deal. Anybody have any suggestions on how I should approach the deal.

Madatrub, did you get your tsx for $25900 including the rear spoiler as well??
  • kenk25kenk25 Member Posts: 16
I'm in the North Jersey area and the dealer wanted to sell me the TSX, auto, wheel locks, trunk liner and splash guards for 100 over Edmunds TMV of 26,473. When they showed me the website with that price, I sent them to Madatrub's message #372 and they offered me the car for 25,900. Thanks again.

i am looking for black/blak tsx for immediate buy
and one of the dealers has a certified used tsx with black/parchment and 500 miles.

hes quoting a price of 25590 excluding taxes, doc and tag fees.
I wasnt able to get an appraisal for a used tsx anywhere (including edmunds) so I donot know the exact value to quote for this deal.

Am sure 25590 is way high as my calc shows that at abt 25679 (4% of invoice + invoice) I should get a new tsx. And tht shd include destination charge (550) and 'protection package' too.

    1. wht should i quote for the certified used

    2. is the price quote of new tsx a good deal? Anyone got a tsx at this deal?

Could you share the dealership name? I'm in the same area. Also, did it seem like the dealer had trouble getting the colors you wanted? Did they give you a hard time over availability. Thanks.

Hi, just picked up my car tonight 12/29. Not bad brought Saturday, pick up Monday. It was just wonderful. No hassles! The dealer is Open Road Acura of Wayne. They were selected Precision Team award as a volume dealer for the last two years and have a lot in stock. If you believe Acura's website, only 77 dealerships got this award last year. Check their website. My color is Meteor Silver with a manufacture date of 11/03! That’s why I went there first because they had the car in stock. When I was there Saturday, I saw a new shipment!

I must admit, you might be able to get a lower price because I only dealt with the salesman; his manager never came to see me. Check the website and good luck. Get them before the end of the year. I'm sure they want to win the Precision Award again.

PS-Could have picked up the car on the same day but part of my payment was cash and the bank was close.

Congrats... I picked mine too yesterday from Acura of Manhattan. I got the Brilliant Silver 6m. It came Friday. I didn't check the build date yet but its vin is in the 19000 range. It was a very easy no hassle process as well. I got the 3.9% financing so I didn't have to go to war with the finance manager.
  • kenk25kenk25 Member Posts: 16
You dog! My vin is in the upper 18000 range. Yours should be late Nov or early Dec. My wife works in Manhattan and Acura of Manhattan would have been our third choice. Their website said they had the Meteor Silver in stock. Good luck.

Question to new owners- Acura said we don't have to change the oil for 10k miles. Maybe I'm old fashion but shouldn't we worry about new engine breaking in, like little shaved metal parts? My salesman said not to worry about it.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 263,787
I have a variant of the same engine in my CRV. When service intervals were 7500 miles, I changed at 3750, to stay on track.. Probably unnecessary... Now that Honda says 10,000 miles, I change oil every 5000, again to stay on schedule with the maintenance.. I don't do the other maintenance twice as often, just additional oil changes. I stay with the normal schedule for all the other stuff.

I asked the dealer how I should break the car in and when I should have my first oil change. They said break in not necessary since premium cars like Acura are already broken in. They also said that the first oil change (although 10K?) in the manual should be 3500 miles for us NYC drivers. I checked Acura's website and they do state to have the original oil stay there till the first oil interval since its a different oil and they want to make sure the metal shavings are cleared out. As far as break-in, Acura suggests taking it easy for the first 600 miles.
  • kenk25kenk25 Member Posts: 16
Thanks for the response on oil change. I was in the other folder 'Acura TSX Owners: Problems & Solutions' and found a message about the tire pressure not set properly when you initially get your car. I checked my car and all the fluids are in the proper level but the tire pressure was at 41 psi as per that posting! I corrected my tires and hope you have a chance to check yours. Overall, my buying experience with Acura was great, unlike some horror stories I read.

Hey folks -- let's remember that the primary focus of this dicussion is to provide a place for our members to easily look up prices others have paid for their TSX's. Check out the link to the Owners Club at the top of the page for other discussions that would be more appropriate for some of these subjects. Let me know if you have any questions or need help finding anything.

    Thanks.

I picked up my Satin Silver Metallic Quartz 6 sp TSX yesterday from Acura of Spokane and am very pleased. Paid $26,290.00, which works out to $1,145.00 below sticker if you factor the protection pack that was "thrown in" (all weather mats, cargo mat, wheel locks and splash guards; $400.00 retail at this particular dealership).

Certainly not the greatest deal in the history of man, but reasonable considering the present market for these cars in the Seattle area.

I ended up dealing with the internet manager in Spokane because all the people I dealt with in the Seattle area were jerks. I'm tempted to drive my new car into one of these places just to rub it in. If you live in WA, I highly recommend dealing with the IM in Spokane. The 300 miles to drive there cost me about $20 extra in gas, and the drive back gave me a head start on my break-in.

    What a great car!

BTW, I was also given $13,800 trade-in for my 2000 Accord EX V6, sight unseen. That's what got me over there. The TSX only had 7 miles on it, and I was the first to test drive it.

I'm already developing an intimate relationship with this machine. Scary.

For sharing your buying experience. Sounds like you may have financed part of your purchase with the dealer. I'm interested to know if you got a good rate with them. Thanks again.
  • kenk25kenk25 Member Posts: 16
First, Happy New Year to everyone. Got the Acura's promo of 3.9% 60 months. Recommend reading Edmund's Buying Tips and also Carbuyingtips.com for purchasing new cars. I had an internet bank check with me, just in case I would be rejected.

The finance manager wanted me to purchase extended warranty and window etching. I declined and there was no hassle. FYI, I examined my car at home and see VIN etching already on the windows. Guess the manufacturer must have put it on.

Overall I recommend Open Road Acura of Wayne. Dosland, did you have a chance to visit them?

Congrats on your TSX. I know you'll be thrilled driving it!

I too traded in a Honda Accord for my TSX back in June. Mine was a nearly flawless '93 EX sedan with 93,000 miles.

Maybe I'll see you around...I still only see maybe one or two TSX's per month on the road out here. BTW, my Milano Red 6-speed lives in Kent but only comes out of the garage on weekends.
  • johnny420johnny420 Member Posts: 473
You're right, I love this car!

I'll definitely keep an eye out for your TSX. I find myself scanning for them, but I haven't seen one yet.

Your Milano Red beauty should definitely stand out though! My folks live in Kent, so maybe we'll see each other. I'll give you a beep if I do. You'll know me. I'll be the one with the goofy grin on his face :-)

Did I mention how much I love this car? LOL

I've found a slightly used 2004 TSX Auto w/NAV. The dealer claims that his wife used it for about 3600 miles (but I imagine it was also used as a demo car for some portion of that). He is offering it to me for $26,700.

    1) Is that a good deal?

    2) Should I worry about purchasing this car? Could there be problems with it having been used as a demo?
  • combustible1combustible1 Member Posts: 264
depends on how long you plan to keep it. If the car was a demo, it's best not to keep that car more than a few years as you don't know how abused it was during the break-in period.

Personally, even if keeping it for only 3-4 years, I would still only pay up to $26K.
  • lumbarlumbar Member Posts: 421
Personally, I'd prefer a new non-Nav over a "pre-owned" Nav at that price. But, if you -really- want the Nav, I'd want at least another grand off. At 3600 miles, it's a used car no matter who drove it, even though I assume the remainder of the warranty is in place.
  • pbanerjipbanerji Member Posts: 5
I decided purchasing a TSX '04 w/3600 miles on it wasn't a good idea. The uncertainties bothered me.

I went ahead with the dealer that offered me $28k for a TSX 5A w/NAV. I also got $2k trade-in for my '96 Nissan Maxima. I've put down my deposit, but am starting to think that I may have gotten lowballed on the trade-in value.

I'm thinking about stopping by another Acura dealer to see if I can get a better trade-in value. Can I back out of my other committment and get my deposit back if someone offers me a better trade-in value? Or is that unethical?
  • lmp180psulmp180psu Member Posts: 399
Go to the "Real World Trade In Values" board, and ask Terry (rroyce)what the trade-in value of your Maxima is. He goes to/buy cars from auctions, so he knows what he is talking about :)

$2000 sounds low for a 96 Maxima. Be sure to describe your vehicle completely or you will be "sent to your room" :) Good Luck!

Paid $25,545 + tax and license for a Non-Navi, Auto, Meteor Silver at Downey Acura.
No options added to the car by the dealer, surprised by that.
  • tsxboy1tsxboy1 Member Posts: 1
I picked up my new Carbon Gray Pearl TSX on Nov 1st. The dealership, John Holtz Acura in Rochester NY was GREAT to deal with! I purchase the 5 speed Automatic without the Nav system. I paid a little less then $26,000.00 and the dealership through in fog lights along with the weather pkg which included the winter mats, mud guards, the trunk mat and the wheel locks. I have put about 1800 miles on the car thus far and truly enjoying it!!!
  • wowser1wowser1 Member Posts: 12
I paid $2000 drive off and $339 a month for a 48 month lease on a Silver with Nav. I think I got a good deal but it took a lot of old-school car salesman back and forth and 2 hours of my life that I want back. This was at South Coast Acura in Southern California.
  • combustible1combustible1 Member Posts: 264
is obviously mistaken. No way possible to get a Navi TSX for anywhere near that price, with "through in" foglights, no less! Unless it was a badly abused demo model. Or your Dad owns the dealership and you're his firstborn son.. but even then, I doubt it.

IF it is true.. clearly you are the best negotiator on the planet, as this is the best TSX deal EVER!
  • corymusscorymuss Member Posts: 1
I paid $25900 plus tax and tags for a Meteor Silver Automatic non-Nav TSX at Frankel Acura. Used internet salesmen rather than neg. on-site. Car is built just awaiting ship date. Very easy and good process with the salesman.
  • wowser1wowser1 Member Posts: 12
TSXboy clearly states, Non Navi, for which that price seems right.

    <<without the Nav system>>
  • combustible1combustible1 Member Posts: 264
I'm the crazy one.. I could've sworn he wrote 'with Navi', as I re-read it a couple times to make sure before I went off on my mini-rant.

unless he changed it later without acknowledging that he did so. *is my paranoia showing?*
  • johnny420johnny420 Member Posts: 473
Yes. Yes it is showing. LOL

Did anyone bought a TSX recently around the boston area ? If so could you please let me know how much you get for it. I am interested a non-nav 6spd.

    thanks

Anyone get good deals lately in Northern California?
  • ckdedmonckdedmon Member Posts: 7
Just wondering if it has been more difficult to get deals (under invoice) for cars with both 6-spd and Nav. It seems like I've seen very few people with cars outfitted like this. Most cars with Nav seem to have Automatic transmissions.

    Thanks.

Looking into one ready to put a deposit. Wanted a little help to see if this price is good.

$25842 with fog lights, and all weather package which includes mud flaps, wheel locks, and all weather mats. Price of course is plus tax, title, and doc fee. Seems fair?
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 263,787
How much is the doc fee? Unless it is specifically going to a government agency for your title/registration, its just additional revenue for the dealer. Your price seems great, if doc fee is minimal.. Even if the fee is $299, your price is still very good.

Doc fee is 53.52. I thought it was a good deal. I'm securing it with a deposit as I type. Any other advice from anyone else? Thanks again.
  • johnny420johnny420 Member Posts: 473
For $25,842 I'd say prices are starting to come down. If there aren't any extraneous BS fees, it sounds like a good deal to me.

  • joe1520joe1520 Member Posts: 6
Is the 25,842 including the 575.00 destination fee?
  • calambacalamba Member Posts: 14
Actually, I made a typo, it is $25,742.00 for a Non navi, automatic with fogs installed and all weather pkg. installed (mud flaps, wheel locks, all season mats). It does include destination charge; is it $545 or $575? As indicated previously, plus tax (6.75%), doc fee (53.52), and new title (143.00). Made a deposit and dealer faxed over the purchase agreement. Hoping to get it tomorrow or Saturday. Hope this helps. Thanks again for everyones input so far.
  • joe1520joe1520 Member Posts: 6
Wow, that is a great deal, it gives me hope!! I'm looking to pick up a non-NAVI 6M sometime this month, hopefully I can get it at a level close to yours!
  • johnny420johnny420 Member Posts: 473
Given the strong demand for the TSX so far, I'd say you made a really good deal. Enjoy your new car!

Bought a new 2004 TSX at Acura Carland in Duluth GA January 3, 2004. Traded in a 2002 Jeep Liberty. Dealership was very accomadating as I wanted to take the TSX home within a one hour time frame. Paid in the mid 26K range and got way over blue book for the Jeep in trade. The finance manager session turned out to be painless and was actually pleasant. They wanted to deal only on two TSX's that were in stock, a Grey and the White one. I liked the interior on the White one and thats the one I picked. It was on the floor as a show model but only had 8 miles on it. Needless to say, I am a happy TSX owner. One other thing, I have never had a car that so many people come up to me and ask how I like it. I didn't know this car was so much in the public eye and so interesting to people.
  • johnny420johnny420 Member Posts: 473
Congratulations on your new cars. I'm sure you'll both love them.

Donsur, relative scarcity is one of the nicest things about the TSX. I've owned mine for a month, and have yet to see another on the road. A few '04 TL's, but no TSX's.

Calamba, sounds like you got a great deal.

    Enjoy your new cars.

Just wondering if this deal is good or not - 25,500 for a non navigation, automatic. includeds the destination fee and cargo tray, mud guards, and wheel locks. does not include tax, 300 dollar doc fee, and 60 dollars for tags. Let me know what you all think!!! Thanks
  • calambacalamba Member Posts: 14
sounds like a good deal. see post #420 for my deal since we just picked one up about 2 weeks ago in Chicagoland area. if you can get them to throw in the fogs then you have a heck of a deal!!! Good luck.

I'm in Chicago looking for a deal. Would you mind telling me from which dealership did you buy your vehicle?
  • jstr2jstr2 Member Posts: 1
    Hello,

I recently (2/08/04) purchased an Arctic Blue '04 TSX Auto w/NAV & moonroof visor for $27K (including destination charge).

Added premium lo-jack for total cost (including MA 5% sales tax, title, registration) ~$29400.

Clair Acura on Route 1 (Auto-mile) was the only dealership in Boston area to have Arctic Blue Auto w/Nav on site. They also had Black, White and Silver auto w/Nav on the lot - probably in preparation for upcoming holiday weekend.

Also, car I bought was on the lot for only 5days, still had the plastic all over the seats and the odometer read 000000{7}!!

Picking it up on Wed 2/11 - can't wait!!!

I bought a Silver TSX automatic with Navigation. I test drove both the manual and the automatic and boy is the 6 speed a slick shifter. It is so much smoother then my 2001 Maxima. Fun to drive but since I bought the car for work the automatic with 2 overdrive gears better suits my needs. With the automatic at 80 mph in 5th gear my tach is only at 2600 rpms. The navigation has yet to make a mistake only problem is it does not have roads that are within 6 months new. TSX is a hot car here. I managed to get mine with $800.00 off list. I have always loved shifting my own gears, but since the TSX auto is so smooth, then why should I have to, unless for some off chance I need to get to 60 miles an hour half a second faster. I also spent an extra $1499.00 to get my warranty extended to 6 years/100,000 miles through acura. Anyway thats my 50 cents.
