Thanks!
It is called the "Put a GM in the driveway" program.
There is a heck of a lease deal on Saabs tho.
9-3 $299 mth, 9-5 $350, Convt. $399 in central
NY area. For everyone too.
My sister is turning in her troublesome BMW. She
can lease a 9-3 with the GM family discount deal for $250 mth, 36 mths., 12k miles yr., under $1000 cash down OTD.
Richn2, I thought that you might be interested in the fact that today General Motors introduced an additional $250 bonus cash for eligible participants of the GM Employee Purchase Program. This incentive is in addition to the bonus cash on a number of models for normal consumers, the 1.9% - 72 month special financing, and early lease termination programs that they have come out with recently. It sure looks as though GM having another rough month and is determined to buy sales so that they don't lose market share again in May.

Carman: thank you also for the additional information. Now if I can only find one of the 160,000 employees that are receiving the coupons to give me one then I would be in heaven. Hopefully some GM person reads and takes pity on me.
Once again thank you for your valuable input.
I had sent Saab an email asking if it would be possible to receive the s plan since they are trying to boost sales. Your right they to me NO in a very polite email. Cant hurt to try espically since they are offering 0% financing. I still have not given up on trying to find an GM employee that would be kind enough to provide me with a coupon because I really would like to buy a 8-2 ARC.
Thank you and anybody else that responds to this question.
regards,

Mazda6s auto, silver/cloth, sports, bose,
side air bag side air curtains, compass with
autodim and homelink. I felt great and ready
to negotiate the deal. I told the dealer that
I am qualified for the S-Plan and gave them my
pin number. Thought S-Plan is a no bargain deal,
everything would be like a breeze. Boy was I
wrong.
The MSRP is $24815 and Invoice $22755. Their
first offer is $23600, and told me it is
a good deal that it is $1200 off msrp.
I was like "What the xxxx". I pulled out the
S-Plan pricing sheet and did the math for them. And
they finally admitted it was a mistake and I
was able to make them mark it down $300 below invoice.
I thought it was a good deal but now comes
the financing part. They told me that although
my credit is very good but because I am
a first car buyer so I don't qualify the 2.9%
APR. They gave me 5.9 APR instead. I insisted on
having the 2.9 APR and them wouldn't budge. And
I ended up walking home empty handed, partly
because I don't trust them after they tried
to trick me on the S-Plan price.
Now my question is with $300 below invoice and 4.0 APR,
is it a good deal?
How come I can bargain even with S-Plan? What kind of
games are they playing?
Thanks
-Mudi
they finally admitted it was a mistake". Yeah, whatever. It was not a mistake, they were just trying to pull one over on you. They were hoping you had not done your research and would agree to the first price.
As far as the rate goes, try this. If it is being offered by mazda credit, Go to myfico.com, pay and pull your beacon score so you know what it is for sure. Then call a few more dealers or mazda's 800 number and ask if there are any other qualifiers to get the low rate and what beacon score is required to get it. I am not an F&I guy for mazda, but the first time buyer story sounds kind of fishy to me. If you are young and do not have alot of good credit in your name, I can see that being a problem, but that will be reflected in your beacon score.
If this rate is through some other finance company or bank, then yes they can set their own rules and that is their right. You will not have any recourse if this is the case. If this is your first time buying a car, you may want to take along a more experienced friend or relative. 4 eyes are always better than 2.
I am not an F&I guy nor do I play one on the internet. You may want to ask one of the experienced F&I guys like zueslewis or cliffy1 and see what their take is on this.
You should be able to find out if you qualify for the lower rate by calling Mazda finance.
It's not at all uncommon to get upsold on the credit. That 3% rate bump would be worth about $1.5K to the dealer on a 5 year loan.
Gm employee/retiree/family is one.
GM supplier is another.
The employee family deal is the cheapest.
I think the supplier deal is like 4% more.
Remember under those programs you dont pay adv. fees or doc fees...That saves ya almost another $1000 bucks too.........
But be prepared to get wholesale for your trade..unless its a hot pickup truck etc.....
I have one of those GM in the driveway coupons
which will get anyone the GM supplier price !
Its only good to the 30th of June tho...E-mail if you or anyone wants it. As long as it gets used ! Good for any GM or Saab vehicle.......geo
http://www.gmsupplier.com
http://www.gmfamilyfirst.com
will send out tomorrow !..............geo
NOTE: Program extended to Sept.2....I have requested
mor coupons...............
NOTE: I have a couple more coming and the program has been extended till Sept.
Gotta push them GM cars....My familys pension and my stock and 1000s of American jobs depend on it !
I will have 1 more if anybody wants one. .....geo
They should whip out the Invoice and it will have the GM deal price and employee price right on it.
I see SAAB is on another site. Hmmmmmm...Haven't noticed that untill today.
Sounds like that dealer doesn't want to sell a car as crazy as it sounds.
Hey if you need to know the GM employee price just email me the vin#, dealer name and zip.
I can tell ya the employee price.......geo
Best off asking the dealer tho. Funny 4 of my buds have bought new GMs with that coupon and have had no problem....Good luck..keep us posted ! At least the program has been extended till Sept. 3
This simply means that you're taking advantage of the employee or supplier price on a vehicle that is currently in a dealership stock. GMS does not refer to employee only or supplier only.
The GM Employee pricing is listed as "5% of MSRP of base vehicle and optional equipment."
The supplier is 2% (sometimes 2% less $25).
Both the Supplier and Employee prices are SET PRICES that you do not have to negotiate and will be explicitly listed on the dealer invoice. The dealership can tack on any fees for anything they want along with this set pricing, if they so choose. Just pay attention to what you're signing.
A dealership does NOT have to honor any incentive, period. They can give you GM incentives. They can give you their own in-house incentives instead or on top of the GM incentives. They can give you sticker pricing without incentives, if they want. They can charge you $1,000,000 for a vehicle if you agree to it. They can give you the keys, sign an agreement for $0.00 and let you walk away with a vehicle for free.
It's all up to them at the time of sale.
The incentives that are offered by GM or the seven major divisions (soon to be six major divisions) and other affiliates are simply what GM and the respective divisions/affiliates will reimburse the dealer for if they sell that vehicle. Most of the time, dealers will transfer to the incentives down to the customer to help convince the customer to buy. Other times they'll tell the customer that there are no incentives at all available on that vehicle and pocket the money.
This is why you do your homework before going to a dealer. This is why you ask a dealership what incentives that they are offering and if they're participating in the national/regional incentive programs offered by GM.
If you're not careful, you could be losing thousands. Other times, there simply aren't any incentives available. When a new vehicle hits dealership lots early (like a 2004 Grand Prix, Vibe, GMC Yukon, etc.), there usually aren't any incentives until those vehicles have been out for a few months.
Just do your homework and you'll do fine.
I found that out in 01 when I wanted a new HD pickup truck. Dealers ALL said stand in line !
I waited.....
Last year I wanted a new CTS. Same deal.....
So I bought a new Deville instead........
Seems funny tho that the SAAB dealer that Rich is dealing with has him jumping thru hoops over the test drive etc. Heck, the Caddy dealer just thru me the keys!..........
Ya figure SAAB would want to move units quick...........geo
*) GMS does refer to GM Employee Purchase Plan
*) Supplier Purchase Program is a price 4% above the GMS price
*) Dealers can not tack on any fees for anythning they want. GM discourages any charges other then those legally required.
*) Dealerships do not have to participate in the Employee or Supplier progrms. They do have to participate in any factory incentive programs available to customers. They must give those incentives to Employee or Supplier buyers if eligible. And in some cases Employee and Supplier buyers may get incentives that dealers do not offer to other buyers. They can not offer any in-house purchase incentives to Employee buyers. They must sell at the designated prices.
Hope this clears up any confussion.
Straight out of my glossary of terms look-up tool, I see "Under the GMS (GM out of Stock) option, a purchaser selects a vehicle from available dealer stock and pays the predetermined GMS price that is printed on the dealer invoice." GMS doesn't refer to employee purchase or supplier purchase specifically. Go to a dealer. Ask for the supplier price. He'll show you an invoice with the supplier price listed as the GMS price.
Supplier Purchase program is 2% of model and option net cost.
GM may discourage anything they want. Dealerships are independently owned and operated. They can do whatever they want. I tell customers every day over the phone who call in asking why their dealership screwed them that General Motors cannot effect the sale in any way. That means that if the dealership wants to charge additional fees for advertisements and whatnot, they CAN and General Motors can't do a stinking thing about it.
Dealerships, IF they give the employee/supplier discount, are required to give things like bonus cash, consumer cash, etc. to the customer in the deal. If the dealership doesn't honor the employee/supplier discount, the customer may or may not get them.
So what else would you like to "argue" with me about? I have more than enough information here to answer questions about GM products, incentives, old and current promotions, etc. This is what I do for a living. This is what I do all day long.
oops. :-p
It looks like you now agree with me on the dealers being required to pass on available incentives. So lets work on the rest.
"GMS" specificly refers to the GM Employee Purchase Program. The "GMS" price is listed on the vehicle invoice.
The GM Supplier Purchase Program price is GMS +4%.( refer to http://www.gmsupplierdiscount.com/getInfo.gm?page=faq question #4) It is also listed as a seprate line on the vehicle invoice.
As far as the additional charges such as Doc Prep, the rules are very clear that GM prohibits the charges. And GM can do something about it. The programs allow GM to disqualify purchasers and to charge dealers for rules violations.
A dealer can do what they want to regular customers and they can then call you, but the GM Employee and GM Supplier programs have rules that both sides have to play by.
and GMO- GM ordered vehicle
The ordered vehicle USED to be cheaper !!!!
But alas NO MORE ! Same price.........
They are even cutting your GM card bonus points from 5% to 1% soon when used on a employee/retiree/family deal.
I think thats happening at the end of the month...
Now on Wednesday I once again called GMINTHE DRIVEWAY and the nice person I was talking to was schocked with both SAABUSA response and the dealer. He spoke to his manager and was told that SAAB is indeed still involved with the program. He said he was going to contact SAABUSA and called me back. Less then twenty minutes later the gentleman called me back to inform me that the SAAB people are under the impression that the program was over June 30th but they had failed to inform GM if they were going to honor the extension. He said he needed to push this up the GM management chain to get a better answer. He did promise me that he will call me back once he gets a reply from the big boys. So needless to say I am in a hold pattern until he contacts me with what ever the answer is.
I gave one to my bud. He is going monday to close a deal on a new Chevy truck! He was just waiting for me to get the coupon! I ordered them a week ago. Chevy dealer READY to move that unit ! He has had the truck all weekend to test out. Price all set, color, model in stock he wants, credit approved, etc........
Hes lovin' it. Coupon discount, Rebate, GM conquest rebate, even 3.9% 3 yr finance thru GMAC
.................geo
