From what I have been told the only Camry's that have folding mirrors are those that are built in Japan. The reason is to save space on the ships bringing them here.The serial numbers from Japan begin with "J". from Kentucky they begin with s "4".
That doesn't make sense. I don't think Toyota would sell Camrys with and without folding mirrors in one country (my 2002 XLE was made in Japan and doesn't have them). If folding mirrored Camrys are built in Japan, they are most likely slated for the Japanese market.
I personally would like to see pictures of the volume selling LE 4 cylinder- the exterior, interior especially- cloth seat fabric, center stack, instrumentation.

Yes, that will be great :P , as so far we've been only seeing the XLE and SE...I like to see some pics of the LEs....but I doubt anyone has any LE pics at all, probably NOT even one built yet :mad:
I thought it was a nice improvement style wise. My main complaint over the 2005/2006 models was the plain styling.
The interior looked very modern and up to date. It was spacious and airy inside, and the seats were quite comfortable. The trunk in the Hybrid was good for a Hybrid; I didn't have time to check the trunks of the LE SE and XLE models.
The Hybrid has a Hybrid Synergy Drive badge on the back, and a Hybrid badge on the left front and right front fenders. It also had different alloy wheels from the other models. Otherwise, it was pretty much the same car, except for the color. Everything was laid out nicely and was easy to reach for.

Is there any hope for a manual trans on the 2007 camry? It completely removes it from any consideration by me without it....maybe I'm a miniscule minority that doesn't even warrant such consideration from Toyota, but it would be nice....especially now that the Accord sedan V6 can be had with a sexy 6-speed manual.
Figure it out. Toyota redesigns its models every 5 model years. Sometimes, but not always, they introduce a new model a few months early. Should be model year 2009 if the trend continues.

The Camry CE, LE and SE I4 will be available with the manual transmission. Makes perfect sense that the LE would be available with a manual, espeically in the SET region, where the LE is sold in higher numbers than the SE as far as manual trannies go.

Does it make perfect sense that the LE is available with the 5M? I think Toyota would be able to cut down build combinations by not offering the CE and LE both in 5M. I mean, theres basically no difference between the two models anyway, the LE just has an options list and the CE doesnt.

I routinely average 38 to 42 MPG on the highway and the high 20s in the city, so the current 4 cylinder is a great engine. However, with a totally new redesign, wonder why Toyota didn't boost the power and MPG of its 4 cylinder model.
Also, does anyone know if leather will be an option for the 2007 XLE 4 cylinder of if leather will only be available on the 6 cylinder.

Any discussion of the 2007 having HID lights? As far as I know the answer is NO on this one.
My suspicion is that Toyota will be upgrading the 4 cylinder at some point PRIOR to the NEXT redesign, to include DUAL VVTi, as on the the 3.5L V6. This would bump fuel efficiency and power, most likely, as it would allow better "breathing" for the engine. It should be do-able because, from my understanding, it isnt a MAJOR design modification. I dont know why Toyota couldnt accomplish this for the current 07 redesign, and that is certainly a disappointment.
Two years ago I passed on a 2004 Camry SE V6, because the car had no sportiness to it even with the blacked out trim and the engine and driving xperience was not that great, so i purchased a '04 Galant GTS. Now looking at the car on the web I'll probably get a the new SE V6, depending on wheather Mitsu is going to put out that Ralliart Galant or a version close to it. So It'll be towards the end of the year when I make the purchase. The '07 Camry SE looks abosulutely 1derful, it's kinda mixed with a Lexus GS/Acura RL , but has the deep lines of the Mazdaspeed 6. This is the Camry I would have purchased two years ago.
What are you talking about???? The 2005 Camry isn't rated to get 38 to 42 MPG, so if you really get that, then you're beating EPA estimates and there isn't any reason for you to not continue beating EPA estimates on a 2007 Camry by the same amount if you drive it the same way.
Or continue to calculate the mileage the same, incorrect way. It always helps if you round up your trip mileage to the next 100 and round down the fuel to the nearest gallon before you top off the tank.
I have seen the color on all three vehicles. It is elegant looking, lighter than the Salsa, but not too bright, and fully metallic. The lights at the Detroit show made it look brighter than it is outdoors. If there is no BR Prius at your dealer, have them call you when they get a RAV4 in.
I just wondered why Toyota is advertising increased gas mileage for the 2007 Camry 4 cylinder when they list it at 33 highway and 23 city for an automatic when my 2005 XLE 4 cylinder was rated at 34 highway and 24 city? It is very strange that 2007 Camry didn't come with a revised version of more powerful and efficient 4 cylinder!
Not really defending Toyota, but the new car does weigh a couple of hundred pounds more, and the gearing could be different. Maybe the new engine (and it is improved a little) would be slightly more economical in identical vehicles.
Honda did the same thing with the Civic. Said it was more efficient, and the MT version is quite a bit less efficient.
Where has Toyota claimed the Camry 4 is more efficient? I havent seen that claim?
In actuality, the efficiency did improve on the 5M, for 06 it was 24/33, for 07, its 24/34. Its the MUCH more volume selling 5A that flip flopped due to the weight increase.
I still cant determine how much the weight increase was, because thus far Toyota has only listed one weight, for example, for the CE and LE 4s... which cant be possible if two transmissions are offered...well, it could be... but VERY unlikely.
There was a full set of specs somewhere that listed all the weights, but I can't remember where. I think it ranged from a little under 3,300 lbs to nearly 3,500.

No manual takes it off of my list as well.
All LE's and XLE's will be the 5A.
Though I cannot find any conclusive evidence of this, maybe Im making it up? Can anyone confirm?
