We shall see.... :-)
I will let ya'll know when I find out.
On the Island Blue.... they never said "no" or have yet to notify me of the fact they couldn't fill my order in that sense.
I will call and check with "Ford Cust Service" on the color deletions and what new colors have come out if any.
And I will try and find out about the tranny price difference if any for those of us that had them on order before they switched.
Try and get a lil jump on the dealer... :-)
BTW: Anybody know the deal with the alarms?
Can you upgrade those at the factory or do I hafta wait till it gets here then have the dealer do it?
Does anybody know the difference between I believe alarm 5 & 6 if you have the power locks and windows?
Are either worth up-grading to or just stay with the factory alarm?
Thxs
As for performance, the ST has an upgraded brake system with bigger front rotors. Also, the ST has a Bosch brake system, ABS, brake booster etc.
As for brake performance, read the TruckTrend and recent Motor Trend reviews of the ST. The ST braking performance is better than a lot of cars. Truck Trend showed how the brake performance was actually even better when the ST was loaded with heavy loads. The magazines reported 60-0 brake distances in the 120s to low 130s (feet). Impressive results for any vehicle let alone a truck.
This is a scan of the front and rear mud flaps on my ST.
See my post #187!!
It took 10 minutes to put all 4 mud flaps on. Unscrew 8 screws, screw in 8 screws, drill 4 holes in plastic, and push in 4 expandable plugs. That easy. The manufacturer did say they had a screw bagging problem. They sent me extra screws, even though the factory screws worked fine.
I also asked about the difference in the radio options and he told that the new single cd players will also come with a cassette and the 6-CD Pioneer is the upgrade option but w/o cassette.
He told me that there was a cd stacker behind the dash and it moves up and down and there was no room for the cassette.
Also the deal with the Boson Acoustics or Pioneer upgrade option is.... they were deciding which to offer in the truck as an upgrade and they choose the Pioneer.
However I did fail to ask if they corrected the gas cap door gap problem, the steering wheel vibration turning at slow speeds, and the paint on the bottom of the doors.
I am gonna make a list and call him tomorrow.
I will check this site before I call and see if anybody has any questions they would like me to ask him.
My cell phone plan allows me to call all 50 states from my home area with no long distance charge.
And since I never use all the minutes anyway I might as well put them to work checking on the status of my sport trac. :-)
Still waiting for a call on my cover.Sure hope it comes in soon.

Im not really wondering about the automatic trans costs. The truck being sold is with the option. I think it would only make sence that the standard trans truck will be less not the same price were paying now. Can't see $1000 more to the price.
As for the sound system update. I feel it will be worth it. I had a premium sound in my past Explorer. It was great sounding even with out the sub-woffer.
Im also getting an order date of 7/24/00 with delivery in early August. Well see.....
I would like the number to Ford Customer Service I don't remember seeing it on this web site yet.
1. When will quality issues be resolved?
2. When will tonneau really be avail?
3. When will X-plan be offered on the ST?
4. What shade is the silver paint(i.e. how dark)?
5. When will there be incentives offered on the ST?
6. V-8?
7. 4-Wheel discs?
Thanks, in advance!!!!!

I still need to follow up with the dealer later today, but after some time on the phone with Ford Customer Service and the rep there calling the dealer, they seem to come to the conclusion that the order is on material hold for the stereo.
No one yet provided a release date, if known (the dealer materials originally stated 4Q2000, which I specifically questioned before including it in the order.
Anyone???
I think the wording of the message intended to say you can "login/register" @="at" ... with the www implied.
Did some research through my print outs for the prices before the swap and....
Invoice (Auto) - $20,414
Invoice (Manual) - $19,882
+ $931 (Auto Option)
=======
$20,813
So that is a $399 difference.
My point was I hope the dealer(s) don't try and stick us with the extra cost since some of us ordered our vehicles before the change over.
Also called Ed and left message to call me.
Have the questions in post #332 written in my tablet with some of my own when/if he calls.
thanks
Took my Sporty in today for my first free oil change with 4700 miles on it and had my list of other problems, thanks to this web site. I had the gas door rub and the front doors with no paint on underside. The plastic cover on the rear passenger shoulder harness had also broken since purchase back in April. The service shop was great; changed my oil then told me to schedule an appointment after the seat belt part came in. The paint shop would fix the paint problem and the body shop will fix the rub. I hate the thought of having to drive the loaner, I've gotten spoiled driving the ST. Other problems I had posted previously include driver side seat belt clip broken and rear window motor broke, and had to be replaced.
I still love my Sporty and am so glad I got it before Ford stopped production of Mandarin Gold! We get lots of compliments on the color, and it's definitely an attention getter.
What color and options are you having built or have you already posted this info and I missed it?
My truck is post #312

I believe the information you got about the director's chairs being a dealer incentive was incorrect. The letter I received with the chairs was from:
Ford Custom Chair Headquarters
1501 Ha-Lo Drive
Troy, Mi 48084
and was signed by James O'Connor, President Ford Division.
The tin of cookies that I received look like it came from the dealer...
I was at the dealership last weekend and I seen a one w/Cloth Comfort Group(Tan), 2WD, Sport Group, Conv Group, Cargo Cage.
I was planning on going out to see what they have put on the lots since then this weekend.
I can post weather or not they sold it or got anymore in.
It's located in GA. about 1-2 hours south of Atlanta.
Let me know if anybody is interested in an update.

I was wondering as to why all these options need to have the automatic transmission to make them
functional.
I am not very mechanically inclined so I may be wrong about the Sport Group (4:10 Axle Ratio) but the rest of this stuff.
Come on FORD!!!!!!
Get real.....
Why not just keep the Auto as a standard item?
By the way, a couple of months ago, someone posted information that there were big problems with the manual transmission and it was not going to be offered in the near future. Has anyone verified that the manual will be offered when they start buliding the next run in late July?
That dealer is trying to work you over. He's just trying to give you a believable reason so you'll pay more than you have to. Many of the people on this board have stated that they've been getting prices for Sport Tracs that are just a little bit above dealer invoice.
So if the dealer doesn't want to negotiate then shop around.
Thanks,
Fordnut
1) My cloth comfort group has been changed to the full console (as others have posted)
2) My interior color has been changed to Tan since Dark Grey is no longer available with Estate Green (seems a number of other color combo limitations now exist)
3) My sales person realizes that time spent waiting for my ST equates to less money in his pocket due to the price changes (small price adjustment in April & the Automatic Trans pricing change). The total dealer cost increase for my order is about $550. My cost of course is still the same.
Build date with Tonneau cover is next week.
Can't Wait.....

to get ideas of the customers problem(s),
need(s), and wants.
Q) When will quality issues be resolved?
A) Those not resolved are being worked
Q) When will X-plan be offered on the ST?

A) No. Front disc... Rear drum...
Q) will lumbar support be avail in the cloth seats
A) No.
I got Sport Trac with 3 inch Ford oval embrodered in all for 55.00 included shipping. Looks great like something directly from Ford. I spoke with I guess the owner and he told me he personally went and checked the fit to see if the 2000 Explorer is the same dash as the 2001 ST and it is so its a perfect fit.
away and put in my request for a V8. But, realistically Ford would need many thousands of requests for the change, even though, the Explorer has the option avail for some time now. It's nice to dream anyhow. Thanks, again obr123.
