Lancia Trevi (looks like a late 70's :confuse: )

Those 'grale wheels on the front (and the beta wheels on the rear) give the maker away :P

It's an '83 Trevi, based on the late 70's Lancia Beta.

1964 Olds Cutlass. I had drivers training in a 1966 when the speedometer became round.

Apollo GT it is. The 5000 used a Buick 300 (5 liters) while the 215 was the 3500.

A real rarity in Britain - this is one of the first MG 1100s - and it's a two-door - never sold in RHD, and never sold in Britain - hence the LWL registration, which is a batch allocated to BMC for press cars. The 1100 Mk I was offered 1962/7, but I think the 2-door was late 63-67. - and this would have been one of the launch cars...

The MG 1100 went on to a MkII in 1967, but only as a 4-door in UK, and only for a few months. At the same time they introduced the 1300, which we did get as a 2 and a 4 door, and there was also a rare interim model, initially badged MG 1275, which never really went on sale. The 1300 went to a MkII itself in 1968...

Your information jibes with my recollections of my best buddy's Dad who owned a two-door MG 1100 around 1964. The MG 1100 was a rarity on this side of the pond but I marveled at the space contained within it's small exterior. My pal drove this car very hard and it seemed to handle extremely well.

They didn't keep it very long replacing it with a 6 cyl./ 3 sp. Mustang in '66 IIRC.

I never knew the 2door was strictly LHD /export. I don't think we ever got 4 door MG 1100s but we got the four door "Austin America", an A/T only version of the ADO ca. '68/'69. That car was a drag on the market even if it wasn't a bad idea to offer an A/T econo car to the stick-averse American buyers.

    Roewe :confuse:

    Another Chinese maker?

    What model is this one?

Looking into it, Roewe also builds a reworked, stretched Rover 75 (a car I've always like the looks of) called the "Roewe 750".

Maybe the Brit car industry won't TOTALLY disappear... other countries (Germany, India, Malaysia, China) seem happy to buy the remains & keep the flame alive :P
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,641
Yep Roewe 750 nee Rover 75.

We had Austin, Morris, Wolseley, MG, Riley and Vanden Plas versions in 4-door, both 1100 and 1300, and eventually most of them had a 2 door option, except the Wolseley I think and of course the Vanden Plas.
My own family had a Morris 1100, in 1964, and much later my mother had a Vanden Plas 1300 auto ( which was a gutless thing - the auto got a single carb, while the manual V-P had twin carbs)
When I was growing up most of my friends families had one or other of these cars at one time or another - the range was Britain's best seller for quite a few years in the 60's. They rusted terribly though - rare car now in everyday use...

Just to go against kyfdx, I'll say early '90s 944S2.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,641
Sorry Lemmer, Kfdyx has it right, it's an '88 944 Turbo S. The caption did not identify the Cabrio, it looks like a current 911/997.

I guess I missed it, too... then..

The Turbo S was a special model.. 247 hp, IIRC.. I knew it had to be a later model, because of the size of the wheels.. That 944S2 was a pretty good guess..

It really hurts my feeling when you disagree with me, though..... ;)

Just to disagree with kyfdx also, early '80's Jeep CJ-7.But to be honest from that angle it's hard to tell if it is the longer wheelbase CJ-7or a 5.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 261,214
Oh man... didn't anyone tell you guys that it's Friday? Quit dogging me!! :surprise:

CJ-7... the doors are square on the bottom... The CJ-5 has the arched doors, to clear the rear wheel wells, due to the shorter wheelbase.. '76 CJ-5 was my third car..

I had a green '74 and it didn't have fender flares and the stuff on the bumpers doesn't look familiar.

I bet the wiper motor doesn't work, and that's probably the 14th top. Fun ride. :shades:
