zredsox,,,,,,just a word of caution. Check for the 12th wire in the door half of the wire connector before you order. I couldn't probe it with my voltmeter and get a voltage reading but when I separated the connector for the mirror, it was there. It's just barely above the door panel so no removal required. In all probability it is there as it is in mine (Dec 19, 05 assembly date) but 500 bucks is worth the peace of mind.
RE: 381 As there has been no change in the 06 wire harness, all 06's SHOULD have the same active wire for the LED side mirrors, just as they do for the 07 audio steering wheel remote switch.
I agree that all the wire harnesses should be the same, Bob. I just thought it was prudent to check it out before ordering. Besides, the practice of removing the cover and disconnecting the wire connector will make it easier to do the second time.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check it before I order. It's been so cold here in Virginia the last few days that I haven't felt like tinkering with the car in the evenings. Hopefully it will warm up soon.
Just installed the new steering wheel switch. For the DIY person on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being easy I'd rate this at no more than 4. Tools required T-40 torx with adapters for a 1/4" drive ratchet with 4 to 6" extension Phillips screwdriver Flashlight Small blade screwdriver
Steps to remove and install
1. set steering wheel straight, remove key from ignition
2. loosen the two T-40 torx screws, one on each side of steering wheel, note 1, the screws are parallel to the dash board, use light and take a look before inserting tool, note 2 the screws are tight so apply steady pressure, the screws DO NOT come out they are held by a good design after unscrewing them, the steering wheel center will become loose
3. carefully lift the steering wheel center (air bag), caution the wires do not allow for complete extraction, so don't yank it up, if the horn blows just move the center to a point where it stops
4. turn the center to allow access to the two philips screws that hold the switch in place and the connector
5. now you can use the small blade screwdriver to push the connector 'lock' (on the bottom of the switch) in towards the center of the connector and it will slip out rather easily. if it does not come out easily remember the screwdriver needs to be at a right angle and push the lock 'in' and pull down at the same time, it's a tight space
6. remove the two screws and remove the stock switch
install
7. snap connector into bottom of new switch
8. adjust wire bundle under switch as required and place switch in place using the tabs near the top and the two locating pins between the two screw holes
9. install and tighten screws
10. make sure the two torque screws are in the 'out' position before resetting the center, you can't see the threads
11. carefully align and place the center back in place, the horn may toot, this means you are not quite level or square, pick up center a little and try again
12. once in place start the torx screw on one side and give it a few turns, not tight
13. screw in the other torx and tighten, go back to the other screw and tighten
RE:387 You write a good technical manual. Although I did not do it, it is always a good practice to disconnect battery when working on or around the air bag system. A deployment of an air bag could be extremely dangerous, as well as costly. This would also eliminate the horn toots that can scare the hell out of you.
Just had a vision of how it might go: Horn blows, you jump, setting off air bag with a BOOM! Even louder sounds follow as you realize that you're gonna pay big bucks to replace that #@!#@!! air bag!...
Have you replaced your factory "H" grille with the sleek "H-less" version? Do you own a black Azera? If so...might I interest you in parting with your old grille???
If anyone is interested, please contact me and let me know. I really prefer a black one as my Azera is black. We can hammer out details on email.
Yes, I have installed the 'sleek' grill and would be interested in parting with my old grill. Problem here is mine is powder white pearl. Have you got some black paint? Let me know...
I remember a site from Korea, Dream something... and I can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated. They had nice accessories not to be found elsewhere.
RE:395 I have made several purchases from Dreamka4U and found that their price for a given item is normally cheaper than Korean Auto Imports. They don't do a good job of keeping their website posted with all the latest available parts but I learned that all I have to do is ask via email and they fire one back usually within a day or so.
Has anyone had experience with a really good fitting dash cover? If so, from whom? Are there any I should stay away from? Any advice would be appreciated. Many places don't even seem to have the pattern yet, 2006 Ultimate Limited
Has anyone installed the Azera hood emblem? If so, could you please provide isntallation steps? The box only came with the emblem and no mounting hardware so I am clueless about how it stays on the hood plus what do I do with the screw attached to the emblem. :confuse:
The screw should have a nut on it. You have to unscrew the nut all the way and put it back on the screw after drilling the holes and putting the emblem in place. This is what holds the thing in place. If the nut is missing, it's about an 11 or 12mm nut.
About one month ago I mistakingly posted that this web site was down. I just misspelled it.I was trying to reach them to return an item that was not what I had ordered. They were unresponsive. I sent a separate email and they finally instructed me to send a picture of the item. This was on Feb. 2,07. I have gotten no response. I found the original mailing carton from Korea and sent the merchandise back asking for the correct item. No response. Better be sure you really want the item you order. It's hardly worth it if a mistake is made. Korea is far,far away.
"Oh yeah, would the guy that had the brand new S-Class wagon on the beltway yesterday ashamed of his Benz? I mean... there was no badging on the back end of it, save for the encircled tri-star emblem."
He fooled you! :surprise:
There is no such animal here in the US. There are E-class wagons, and C-class wagons, but no "S" class wagons.
Maybe over there . .
I think that when a Benz owner does that, he is trying to fool people that do not know which model is which, hoping that they will think he's driving something that is more expensive than it really is.
I asked the question of Alpine Developments today in regard to availabilty of a blower kit for the 3.8. They do alot with Hyundai and supply turbo and blower kits for nearly all the Hyundai range. I will probably wait ages for a response but you neva neva know if you dont have a go. Are there any other forum users that would be interested in a bolt on supercharger kit for their Azera....this would probably include the Sonata, being the same engine configuration with the exception of 600cc.
I will post this thread on the other sites to boot.
Hi Jim101, Back in late January I ordered 2 or 3 items from Seoulful. One of the items was a metallic looking key surround piece. They sent me a two piece set that wasn't at all like the picture on the web site. I wanted to return the items and have them send me the correct piece. I had a problem contacting them through the web but got the email site of "kdmguy". He (they?)told me to start with sending them a photo of the pieces. This was done. One week later and no response. I sent another picture and still no response. I just happened to have kept the original shipping box with the return address in Korea. I priority mailed the pieces back requesting the ordered piece. All email correspondence was also included. Nothing came back. I included my home address, cell#, home phone, email address.
If they have a no return policy, OK, but a total disregard of my inquiries is not acceptable. Order from them if you wish, but be advised......You keep what you receive. I didn't think to notify PayPal. I will. The total cost was not much. Check their web site to see. I can't remember.
RE: 418 PayPal has a Dispute Resolution department, but it is not nearly as effective as a regular credit card bank. With a credit card dispute they immediately credit your account, on a temporary basis, while investigating, and make a final determination within 60 days. Non shipment of a purchased item becomes a no brainer. Incorrect merchandise may require more communication. PayPal is not covered under the same regulations as credit card companies, and there have been legal proceedings against them.
To be clear (and given your subject matter, he probably realizes this but just in case...), that's true of the second picture, but not the first - the first one is perfect! :-)
If any forum members visits the ebay hyundai azera site, you will note that someone is offering throttle bypass body kits, that are touted as increasing power etc. I would like some feedback about this concept.
I thought about doing this to my Azzy but never had the time to check inside the engine to see if it was as simple as the Elantra so thanks for the reminder Bob.
Anyhow, I really did not feel any difference in my Elantra after doing this mod but it should definetely give you better performance as far as not loosing horse power since hot coolant isn't passing thru the TB. I do advise if you live in a very cold place, you may want to undo this mod in winter. For us Floridians, this mod is great!
RE: 425 I have seen several cars done with the MMM product, installed by professionals. That is supposed to be the "top of the line". I was not impressed. One could clearly see the "invisible" line across the hood. When a stone hits the film, it nicks just like paint, and the nick is visable. True that you could replace the film, but you could also re spray the hood.
The dealer installed film on my 99 Volvo was and still is, excellent. It is not visible beyond 3 feet and I havn't noticed many nicks at 160,000 kms. I'll have to check with the dealer to find out who and what they installed.
I would never have even considered it, only for the quality of the Volvo install.

Exactly correct. That is after you have awakened after the air bag broke your nose.

Thanks.
They cannot!
If so, what type and size, and how did they fit and work?
If you doubt me, contact your local dealership, Hyundai Consumer Affairs, or your owner's manual
Thanks for the new title. It's better than some of the things that I have been called.
Within the next five days, anyway. EBay seller removed the cloth from his seats to replace with leather and is selling the cloth! :surprise:

A steering-wheel mounted remote shifter system?!... :surprise:
Not so sure that would work with air-bag supplied cars...
Steering wheel that shifter remote is mounted on doesn't appear to be at all similar to that on Azera Limited.

Been thinking about buying the 07 mirrors from seoulfulracing but now have a concern after reading your e-mail.
If I may ask, what did you order and have they resolved you issue?
Have you contacted pay-pal as they need to know and may provide a refund.
They do alot with Hyundai and supply turbo and blower kits for nearly all the Hyundai range.

Thanks for the input. The mod seems easy enough, although if it didn't appear to do anything, why bother?

No intent to disparage the system.
I myself am much to anal to see the line at any distance.
Hope you had success with wheels.
