I did try my ratchet and phillips bit but never thought about turning the wheels.
Perhaps that is why I don't install mud guards for a living... I'd starve.
Pastor Shaun
You will need a bank loan to buy a kit Ave about $180
they won't split kits..it's all or nothing
If you buy the full kit and use all the pieces IMO you will take a fine interior and make it look like a clown car
Thanks
MsAzzy
The mud guards are not standard equipment on the Azera Limited even with the ultimate package.
I'm on a vacation trip for about 5 weeks, but will take some new pics and repost upon return home.
So...you want some help with your black Azzy, huh?
Trust me...I've got some plans for this car. It will truly be a one of a kind!
I went to a place called Atlantic Window Tinting on Richie Rd. From the Beltway, take the Central Ave. Exit towards DC. At the light for Richie Rd., make that left (you'll see the McDonald's). After you make the turn, start looking on your left hand side for the sign. They charge $99 for whatever tint you choose. They don't offer a lifetime warranty, just 5 years. Their reason for this is that most folks don't keep their cars longer than that (makes sense). Only problem with them...they are a first come, first served type operation. My advice, get their like 30-45 mins before they open to be one of the first. After that, you could wait all day long.
There's another place I can send you though, but it's up in Glen Burnie...Vivid Motorsports. It's a shop owned by a guy named Dan, just tell him you were refered by another Azera owner named Mike, he'll know who. He'll take good care of you. By the way...this is the shop that installed my side marker lights. You can schedule a day and time to bring it in and he'll take care of you.
I don't have the window vent shades for the side windows as of yet. The only ones I could find have to be affixed to the outside of the door around the windows and that would cover up the chrome trim and I don't want that. I'm looking for the ones that install in the channel around the window. When I find those...then I'll add them. However, if you go with the regular ones...it's a peel and stick process you can do yourself. The only thing you need to be sure to do is to clean the area they'll be sticking too with some rubbing alchol to get any oils, waxes or anything else that may stop the adhesive tape from sticking. Once you do that, just line it up and apply it. Press firmly all the way along the piece and you're done!
As far as the 'down payment program' that Ken Dixon offers, I think you have to have bought your car from there to get it. However, if you start spending your money out there, I don't see why you couldn't ask about it. Maybe they do offer it to those that get their work done there regardless to ease you into buying from them later on down the road.
Which, by the way...was the best buying experience I had. I told them the terms I needed, filled out the papers and they slid me an offer sheet with a price that was lower than the MSRP at the time. So not only did I pay less for the car, they gave me the terms I needed to get it out the door. They didn't have the one in stock I wanted, but they found one for me up in Rockville and brought it down for delivery. No fuss, no muss!
I saw a link around here somewhere for the window guard thingys and I downloaded the installation manual and it goes up underneath the outside covering made especially for the Azera. I have it saved as a favorite on my computer at home. I hope I remember to post the link later on tonight for you. Just remind me.
I noticed a change in my radio reception as have a couple other folks too. However, I don't listen to radio too much for it to be a big issue for me. I will be adding the FM signal booster down the road though.
I would appreciate that link, that's exactly what I've been looking for.
Check your carspace email inbox in a few mins.
I think I disabled the email feature, let me turn it on, then turn it off in the next 20 mins. It keeps the spam out of my inbox...lol
No...I don't have the mirrored look on mine. I know what you're talking about though. Mine is the smoke tint at the MD legal limit of 35%. You can go 20% and you shouldn't have any problems as that's what's on most SUV's from the factory. I really don't like the darker tint look on the Azera as seen on the one running around MD/DC/.
For $150...it better be the metalized film. Just tell them you want the regular smoke color, not the mirrored smoke tint.
Let me know if you got my email. You get spam in yours? I don't get any spam in my carspace mailbox...one of the things I truly love about it!
Try www.weathertech.com. They show window ventshades for the Azera and explicitly state that "no" exterior tape is needed or used.
Azera Ventshades
I've gotta ways to go before it's show ready, but once I lay out my plan and get it into action...I'll be good to go!
Oh and I would like to add the bluetooth. So that's going to run me about $1000. A girl needs to tile her bathroom oh decisions, decisions...LOL
You can spend $1000 if you want to, but you can buy an aftermarket radio that come with bluetooth and get it installed for much less than that! Before you ask, yes...it is VERY easy to replace the radios in the Azera.
Pioneer Bluetooth Radio
Sony Bluetooth Radio
JVC Bluetooth Radio
Check your inbox too.
If you are talking about the email address in your profile (which I think you are), spambots cannot get it there. You have to be a registered, logged in member to see it, so those automated webcrawlers will never find it there.
If you are talking about your CarSpace email account, you can set it to only receive email from other CarSpace accounts. That should help, but I agree with allmet33 - I've never seen spam in mine.
Hope this helps.
As far as what to do with the Bluetooth issue... There is one or two folks that have posted about adding Bluetooth to the factory stereo. Advantage...you keep the steering wheel controls. If you replace the radio with one that has built in Bluetooth, it's simpler, you lose steer wheel controls, but...most of them come with a remote anyway. I replaced my radio and I don't miss the steering wheel controls since I have a remote. It just boils down to what you think works best for you.
One thing I will say, changing the radio offers a sound upgrade as well. If you think the factory radio sounds good, aftermarket ones will almost alway sound better.
window guards + Labor - $120 chaa ching
Portable Nav - $600 - double ching
Bluetooth + labor - $249 - semi ching
Total - $1119 (give or take a few)
I haven't even entertained the thought of an upgraded radio...LOL
Don't know why someone would charge you $30 to install the vent shades on the side windows.
Portable navs are nice, but as long as I have internet and a GPS enabled cell phone...that's money being spent elsewhere!
Contact the folks at Vivid Motorsports and find out how much they'll install Bluetooth for you. I don't know where you priced it out, but if you selected Circuit City or Best Buy...they are a joke!
I only suggested the radio w/ Bluetooth as an option. I'm not sure how well the aftermarket Blutooth will integrate with the factory stereo. If you buy a radio that has it built in, then it's completely integrated already.
You can take a look to see what the light smoke looks like by typing in Sonata as your car choice then look at the Alt view #4.
Hope this helps, now back to the drawing board. *sighs*
Then again, if you hold off long enough...they may offer one in the darker finish you want. It's not black, it's just a really dark tint.
As far as your nav unit, look on Ebay for one. I shop on there regularly and have always had a good experience. That coupled with saving lots of coin...why not!!!
Installation charges - again I'm a woman and we don't know better well at least that's what they think so we always get charged more for anything involving a car
I don't have internet on my cell phone, shoot I hardly use it as it is now.
The other drawback to Best Buy or Circuit City...it's hard scheduling a day to get your car in there. I had a guy bring me his car to install his radio, speakers and add an amp and sub because Best Buy wouldn't be able to get him in for like 2 months. He also saved a lot of money going with me too, while still achieving the same results. :shades:
Stainless Steel Pedal Covers
Although if you're entering into shows and stuff you can go as far as putting an aquarium in the back seat with lava lamps...LOL Ok I'm being silly.
I've seen those crystals they have for sale. I shall not resort to those bamafied methods to get attention! LOL
An aquarium would add too much weight and the handling of the car would be compromised. However...lava lamps, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Nah...don't get it twisted, when it's all said and done, it's gonna stay grown and sexy. You will not confuse it with your neighbor's son's Fast & Furious wanna be!
This is correct, I ordered the light smoke. My wife installed them because she is left handed, has smaller fingers and said "it was a breeze".

Thanks allmet33, this may work
