Do you have the Fram or K&N part number for the Azera cabin air filter?

I went to the dealer to buy a replacement and the ones they have are thin paper-like flimsy filters. The one I have in the car is the original which has a thick cotton-type pleat with a plastic webbing around it.

    Anyone experience the same problem?

    Thanks

I use my "generic" cargo net from my old Camry. just hook the 2 ends of the net to the protruding hooks on the back of my new Azzy. No problem from grocery bags. :)

I bought the mirrors from http://www.dreamka4u.com. for my 06. They were painted my car color, price included shipping from Korea and plugged right into the wiring harness. Very good service. I forgot the price but contacting them from their website will get you all the info you need.
My car was built on 19Dec05.

    :)

That site won't come up for me. Perhaps I am doing something wrong? :confuse:

Wondering if those mirrors you installed will work on my '07 SE which came without 'em?

Noting your build date, have you had your front shocks replaced?

    :)

You can get the US mirrors. The limiteds with Ultimate package and the 08 limiteds have them. The US mirrors will be color matched. That way you don't have to have a paint shop repaint them to match your car. Koreanautoimports sells them. The one they sell is the OEM ones. They also have a power folding feature. The ones at that site will need to be repainted so you can get them in any color. I hear they just bolt right in though the power folding I don't know.

I think they might have taken it down. Korean autoimports or your hyundai dealer could sell them.

    Hope this helps.
  • grayfoxgrayfox Member Posts: 166
The mirrors were received with the correct matching color, have the turn signals installed and retained the folding feature. In my '06 Limited with Ultimate, the mirrors were a simple swap and plugged right in.
Yes, I have had front and back shock absorbers replaced under warranty.

Just finished installing the Roadruns grille from Korean Auto Imports, in Venetian Blue. I've been looking for a wire mesh grille since I bought my Azera overa year ago, and finally have one. About two hours to install, not counting the painting of the aluminum mesh back to the original aluminum look. Here's a link to photo

I have an 07 Azera too and would like to remove the trunk lid "H". Could you let me know what to look for on DreamKa4U.com?

koreanautoimports.com has emblems for Azera at $75.00 per pair
  • dazeoffdazeoff Member Posts: 7
floridabob1, thanks for the very quick reply. This forum was most interesting and extremely helpful. I think we are on opposite sides of Florida, (Port Charlotte for me).
I just bought my 07 Azera Limited, Pearl White with an Ultimate package from a Ft. Lauderdale dealer. It had 5,600 miles. It's one sweet ride. The posts about tweaking the Azera were excellent. My car came with just about everything. This is the first car that I've bought that wasn't a belly button car that everyone didn't have one. I just haven't seen any Azera's over where I'm from. By changing out the "H" symbols on the front & rear sure could add to the interest and curiosity level. I sure do appreciate you pointing me in the right direction for the change out. Thanks again. :shades:
  • floridabob1floridabob1 Member Posts: 1,190
Good luck and enjoy your new ride.
I have done lots of stuff over the last two years of Azera Ownership.
Back-up sensors, new "H" less grill, 07 radio and steering wheel remote, euro side lights, wood grain dash kit, custom hand painted pin stripes, high output head lights etc.
    It's my fun projects.
Most of the initial problems have been resolved and I am enjoying the car.
  • cdmuilecdmuile Member Posts: 152
Just checked Dreamka. The emblem is not listed anymore. They have stuff that isn't shown on the website. Contact them. They are very responseve and helpful. Mine was ordered almost two years ago. My emblem has what looks like an X in the center with the script "Advanced automotive dressup solutions" in small print surrounding the X. There are photos posted by me on other forums. Good luck.

Thanks for your update. Floridabob sent me a link for Koreanautoimports.com that has replacement emblems for an Azera "Grandeur TG" Emblem Set. As the Azera is called the Grandeur outside the US, I think replacing the standard H with the TG emblems would be most interesting.
  • cobrazeracobrazera Member Posts: 352
I popped for the " Grandeur TG " emblem for the rear along with the " S380 " emblem which replaced the " Limited " emblem on the right rear. I also removed the " Hyundai " emblem from the left rear.
Thinking about the " TG " center caps for the stock wheels also. The Roadruns grille, of course, removes the " Hyundai " ID from the front.
The curiosity factor is definitely there as most people have no idea what the car is, but more important to me is that now I can park it in this GM/UAW area without worrying about it being " keyed " when I return.
  • dazeoffdazeoff Member Posts: 7
I'm not rrying to do a drastic change to the car's look as the lines are very symetric now. It all started by removing the dealer stick on ID. As many other posters have stated, I'm not going to advertise for them. Then reading on I saw that other posters also removed the Hynduai name from the rear. That lettering came of yesterday. My 07 limited came with the Ultimate package and there isn't much that I can do, or for that matter, would want to do. I've ordered the wind visors for the windows. None of the local parts stores had them in inventory. Checked out JC Whitney, who had them in stock. When I bought my car it only came with one key. It's a lazar cut and had to visit the local dealer. Was told I had to order 3 keys @ $200 plus programing. Thought that was a total rip when I only needed one extra key for my wife.
  • cobrazeracobrazera Member Posts: 352
If you purchased your Azera new, it should have come with 2 " master " keys and
1 " valet " key, along with 2 remote transmitters. You should not have to pay for a 2nd master key unless the car was used, in which case you should have been informed of the missing key up front.
IMO, if you can't get satisfaction on this from your dealer, seek help higher up.
  • dazeoffdazeoff Member Posts: 7
The Azera was a trade with only 5,600 miles. Not a big problem going for the xtra money for another key set. It took two days of phone calls and follow up email to get the car for the price I wanted. The big stumbling block was a trade value for my SUV.
They finally agreed to my offer and I drove across the State of Florida to pick up the car. :)

I just ordered a set of Azera "Grandeur TG" Emblems to change out the H on the trunk & grill. Has anyone removed the grill H? I'm not sure if a heat gun will do the job. Not much room to see behind the grill, but there appears to be some plastic studs from the H itself that goes through the actual grill assembly. Any input?
  • cdmuilecdmuile Member Posts: 152
Just checked out my OEM grill (I've replaced it with an aftermarket). You're right, on my '06 there are two studs holding the H on. They used locking washers, or whatever you call them, to secure the H to the grill. No nuts. You would have to remove the grill to pry the washers off. Not a tough job to remove the grill. Eight nuts need to be removed. See this forum and other forums under "Grill removal". Really easy. Good luck.

I've checked the Korean Hyundai accessory sites -- has anyone tried any of the rear deck spoilers they offer? Your opinions? To me, the rear-end of the Azera just needs something.

Here's a page from the Car Domain website of a guy that is using the Studie rear lip spoiler. Looks sweet (see below)!!!

OK, hit 20,000 miles the other day and cut a 1/4th section out of a high-quality, residential air handler disposable 3M "Filtrete" filter, leaving enough behind from the rather large filter (24" x 24" x 1" thick) for three more Azera filters later on. I measured by placing a dirty Azera filter over one corner of the Filtrete, marked with a Magic Marker pen, cut with serrated-blade scissors and duct-taped the two cut edges, pulled out the Azera filter carrier from behind the glovebox and swapped new clean for old dirty, no problems.

I'll see what this new filter looks like 10k miles down the road from here... :shades:

What a great idea...of to the hardware store and I'll be doing the same thing!

I got my pearl white Azera in 8/06 out here in Escondido, CA. The WeatherTech window visors were a problem for me. When I installed the front ones in the top window channel and raised the window, snap went a little piece at the rear in the channel. It happened again with another set, Soooo, back they went again. Besides that, the rear set worked well but if you lowered the window an inch that opened a gap on the semi vertical part of the window. I've used and appreciated the widow deflectors in the past having first seen them in Europe in the early 80's. I've removed all lettering from the rear except Azera and the 'H'. Dreamka4u.com is shipping my new 'H' less pear white grill. Others have installed them so mine should go on w/o a hitch.
  • cdmuilecdmuile Member Posts: 152
I too had a problem installing the WeatherTech wind deflectors. I didn't break anything but it was a struggle. Ended up putting a little axle grease on the inside of the deflector and running the window up and down until they seated properly. Two years later and no problems.
  • 144tap144tap Member Posts: 44
That was one of the first (of many) things I did to my beauty was to get a quality house filter (hepa),mark it,stuck it in. I ordered a pearl white grill from dreamka4u,shipped Jan31, so far no grill. Said it would take 10-14 days. Sent them an email 5 mins ago.

I just purchased a new '07 Azera Limited, it did not come with any additional packages so it lacks the 6 cd changer and there is no sunroof. Can an in-dash cd changer be added? What do you think about after market sun-roofs? :P
  • cdmuilecdmuile Member Posts: 152
Adding a 6d changer shouldn't be a problem. The center audio portion of the dash is the same. Aftermarket sunroofs are very good anymore. Don't try to go cheapie on it......leaks and wind noise could be a problem. Be sure to check out the warrantee.
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
The only issue you MIGHT encounter with trying to put the 6-disc changer in the dash is wire harness may not be the same. I'm not 100% sure. You might be better off going with a double din unit that can play MP3 CD's, has USB input so you can use flash drives and Blue-Tooth capable. Below are some units...

I received my powder pearl white 'H less' grill from dreamka4u and installed it per form # 507, looks good. Local dealer wanted $250 installed. For $99 (free shipping), I saved a few bucks cause I surf this form.
  • oskidunker1oskidunker1 Member Posts: 213
Do you have a picture of this? Will it void the warranty? I don't really like the front grill. Only part of the car I find unattractive.
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
Changing the grille won't void the warranty.

Have any of you added a bar across the top of your strut towers called a strutbar? One is offered by Seoulfulrac out of S.K.
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
I, myself am curious about that as well. I see it in the pics they have posted on that website, but haven't seen it on anyone's actual car. I think I'm going to get one anyway, but I want to find a way to install it and keep the strut tower covers in place as well.

    Good luck!!!
  • cdmuilecdmuile Member Posts: 152
I had a bad experience with Seoulful Racing a couple years ago. They shipped the wrong item and wouldn't acknowledge the error or let me return it. I ordered the strut bars from KSPEC, also a S.K. enterprise. Two different mechanics tried for a week to install them on my '06 Ultimate with no luck. They simply didn't fit.Contacted KSPEC and returned the bars. They credited me with the total cost plus shipping. A nice company to do business with. Just a caution..... I couldn't get them to fit.

    Hey everyone,
I just picked up my 08 azera ltd. Red. My question is fairly simple i hope. My wife thinks the door handles on the azera interior are cheap looking, she likes the interior door handles on the 09 sonata. The difference is the 09 sonata is chome while the azera is brished steel looking. Question is can i change out switch door handles form the 09 sonata into the 08 azera, and how hard would it be ?
I thank you for any info, and i love this site awsome. :)
  • cdmuilecdmuile Member Posts: 152
I guess you could try checking part numbers. I hope you are more than just a shade tree mechanic. Anytime you get into removing door panels, fooling with fasteners and linkage pieces, seems like it would quite a job. Good luck.
  • dwengier77dwengier77 Member Posts: 30
to be honest i have worked mostly with engines and trannys, not interiors ! So i really am not sure how hard it would be>

Ref; #'s 681,682,683. My red strut bar came via USPS yesterday and it's on! So, after reading cdmuile's experience with Seoulfulracing I said to myself OH MAN!!!!!, what did I do? But I guess they cleaned up their act some. I mean I had no clue the bar was sent or what, it just showed up. Anyway allmet33, I took the black plastic strut covers off and the black metal ring held on with the three black nuts. I preferred to have the black bar attachments under that ring. It lowered the bar a bit and the three black nuts fit better when tightening. I still wanted a better clearance for the hood,so with a small 2x4 and hammer,a few wacks latter on the bar at the attachment bolt, I made sure the top of the bar was below the hood rubber seal. Allmet33, I wanted the black plastic strut covers on too. Out came the drumel/rotary tool and half hour or so later they were back on. Now, I have no idea if the bar will prove to be beneficial or not but, what the hey. Good luck!

I just bought a used 07 Azera and it does not have the turn signal built into the mirrors. In fact I only saw them on one Azera, and I though that it was an 08. Am I missing something here? They do look really sharp and I may have to change mine out.

    Thanks
  • snaglepussnaglepus Member Posts: 160
    :)

The GLSs and the SEs came that way, and I too wish I had those
standard mirrors that are part of the Ultimate Limited package.

But not badly enough to cough up the big dinero required for the parts
and labor to have 'em installed. Others have done so. Do a search.

144tap...glad to hear your experience was positive. Could you possibly post some pics so we can see the end result of your hard work???

Also, if you will...post some results of your driving experience now that you have the strut bar in place as well.

    Thanks in advance!!!
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...are you SURE it's an '07 you bought??? That was the one major upgrade difference between the '06 and later models. Look at the door plate and check the build date of your Azera.

Anyway...the other differences are the dash gauges. In the '07 model, the driver info center is positioned between the speedometer and the tachometer. On the '06, it's in the lower right hand corner. Also, the other change was...the '06 models came with full size matching spare, the '07's and later models get the space saving donut.

There are sites you can order the turn signal mirrors from...

    Korean Auto Imports

    Seoulful Racing
  • avondanavondan Member Posts: 8
Thanks for the reply. Well I think I'm sure I bought an '07. All the paper work including the carfax says it's an '07. The door plate says manufacture in Dec '06. The dash has the info between the tach and speedometer. I drove an '06 and the info and spare details are as you mentioned. All of the '07 that I looked at did not have the lights, and as I said the one I saw with the turn lights in the mirrors was an '08. I did notice that mine was made in Korea, could it be that '07 made in the US had them and the imports did not?
  • snaglepussnaglepus Member Posts: 160
    :)

The VIN will tell you for sure what MY your car is. :surprise:

From left to right, the tenth character is the year. :)

    If it is a "7" it is a 2007. If it's a "6" it's a 2006.

Usually the wood trim on the steering wheel is part of the Ultra Limited
    Package
as are the adjustable pedals and I thought all ultra
limiteds had the direction signal lights in the mirrors.

"I did notice that mine was made in Korea, could it be that
'07 made in the US had them and the imports did not?"

The Azeras are not nor have they ever been made here in the United States.
They are all made in Korea.

Thanks, it is a 7. I have seen references in this forum to option packages numbered 04, 05, and 25. I am also aware of the ultimate package. Since I did not buy new all I was aware of when I was looking for one was the SE, limited, and ultimate models. Could someone explain the different option packages 04, 05, and 25? I guess that the turn lights in the mirrors are specific to one of those or the ultimate package.

    Avondan
  • cobrazeracobrazera Member Posts: 352
The SE and Limited are models. The Limited has a subset of packages called the Premium and Ultimate. The Premium package ( 04 ) consists of sunroof, and a 315 watt Infinity stereo upgrade.
The Ultimate package ( 05 ) contains the items in the Premium package and adds power tilt/telescope steering wheel and pedals. Both are part of an Integrated Memory system which includes those items and the driver's seat as well as the " power folding side mirrors with Turn Signal ". Lastly, the Ultimate has Rain-sensing wipers.
The ( 25 ) package, I believe, was a surround sound stereo upgrade which added to the Ultimate package ( 05 ).
