Looks like I have the 04 package. The other stuff would have been nice, but not necessary for me. Thanks for educating me on the differences.

I guess the other important thing to know is...do you have the GLS, SE or LTD trim? I don't think the GLS or the SE trim levels got the signal mirrors. I believe that option was only for the LTD trim level (regardless of which package you got).

Also, the Azera is ONLY built in Korea...Hyundai has not yet opened a plant for Azear production here in the U.S.

I have the limited trim. As I indicated in an earlier post, I did see one with the turn lights in the mirrors. I was told it was an 07 that had never been titled (this was just last week). Some people were looking at it and the salesman indicated that they would probably be buying. I am pretty sure it went for a lot more that I bought mine for. I paid 19,000 for mine, The KBB was about 24,500 for it. I guess the market is soft for the Azera. I did see several other LTD's that were priced 2.5 to 4 K higher, some with more miles (mine had 14,200) so maybe I got a good deal. Some of those could have had the 05 and the 25 options however.

I look forward to following the forum, I also have an 06 Sonata LTD and will be perusing that forum also.
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
I wonder if someone swapped them out for the mirrors on an '06 model. My understanding is that all the '07 Azera LTD's would have the turn signal mirrors.

Contact Hyundai Corp on that one.

Ref. #691 Ok, so i finally took a picture and got my daughter to upload it onto my carspace. Here's the link to the album, I'm hoping this will work.

Looks good in the thumbnail, but you gotta work on resizing the picture because when I clicked on it to open it up...it filled the screen to the point you couldn't see the whole pic. However...from what I can see in the thumbnail...very nice look. I like the touch of red you did on the engine cover to go along with it. ;) Has the strut bar changed the driving dynamics of the car any?

Any other mods on the horizon?
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
Right...that's the one I was referring to.
  • 144tap144tap Member Posts: 44
The strut bar pic in #703 has been corrected. As to any improved performance??????? ah, well, I don't know, yet. I had a '72 911 T back in the '80's that had some bad bump steer. Now that needed a bar! I've also had a '61 A/H two seater, 2 MGB's, a 510 Datsun, the 911T, and a '69 dk blu AMX. The ZERRA would out perform any of em. I do know how to handle under/over steer. With ESC I have yet to push it to that point.....yet.

Was that Seoulful Racing bar very difficult to install? Looks good. Hope it's effective.

    :)

Has anyone bothered to ask for Mahout's opinion on this matter?

Is this product really of any benefit? Does it do any good?

    Just asking . . .

OK, I screwed up and won't go into a long story on it. The window vent visors I ordered for the new '08 Azera came and I put them on two days ago. Since, I have decided I don't like them for a couple of different reasons. Anyone tell me how to get them off aside from just 'prying'? They seem to have bonded quite well already and I don't want to pull the window frames too hard, nor do I want to scratch the chrome beneath. Any type of liquid glue disolvers, etc. that I should try? Thanks for any info/help you can provide.
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
You can use a hair dryer on the highest setting and work your way along the visor, pulling it up as the adhesive loosens up. When you're done...get some goo-be-gone to get the remaining adhesive up and after that...apply some wax to take care of it.

Thanks much, Mike ... will give it a shot.

No probelm, good luck...post your results when you're done too. Thanks!

Only 2007 models with the ultimate pkg gets the turn signals in the mirrors. (I have a 2007 ltd with premium but no ultimate)
P.S. I read nearly every post I could find on this car before I bought it and I must say, if all the members here had not loved this car so much I would have never even considered it. Now I KNOW I spent the smart money and am truly enjoying this car!!

I purchase a 2007 Limited without the power folding side mirriors with turn signals. I was going to add the mirrors until the dealer quoted a price of 480.00 per mirror which did not include the installation. If anyone purchase this product if so what was the total cost? Still interested, they really improve the look of the car.
  • wobbly_earswobbly_ears Member Posts: 160
I hear ya! I bought a 2007 Limited Ultimate after I spent months reading these forums. I had initially wanted to purchase a Sonata but after reading all the great reviews from members here, I switched to Azzy. And got it at a great price & 0% APR too! Now, how can you beat that? Just a fantastic piece of automobile! Powerful, Elegant & all the tech goodies!

A friend bought a Camry & I sat inside it. Couldn't wait to get out of the plastic heaven there. It was a 4 banger, no XM, no upgraded stereo system & plastic everywhere! And he paid 28k!

I sat in my Azzy's soft leather seat & laid my hands on the soft padded dash & felt even more smarter for buying this car!

Here's a web site where you can order the mirrors yourself. From what I've gathered, those that have ordered (and post on this site) have installed them theirselves, so it must not be too difficult. On this site, $480 gets you both mirrors. ;)

I'm one of those who has installed the turn signal mirrors on my Azera. It is an '06, Limited with the Ultimate package. The installation couldn't be any easier.

If you will go to my post #444 on this topic, you will find my detailed installation instructions with pictures.

    Good luck

Thanks for the installed strut bar photo. Mine was ordered from KSPEC. My mechanic said he couldn't get it to fit. I just glanced at it and sent it back to KSPEC. When I saw your picture, I thought "That doesn't look at all like the bar I received". Sure enough, they sent the wrong strut bar. Received the right one yesterday and decided to install it myself. Piece of cake. It does look to be awfully close to the air intake. I'm going to let it go for awhile and check for rattles/noises before I take the hammer and 2 by 4 to it. Thanks again.

I searched, but did not find anything recent on the WeatherTech vent visors for Azera. I originally purchased the AVS Vent Visors for my '08 Azera Limited, but did not like them at all, and they covered up the chrome over the windows so I pulled them off. Anyone, recently, purchase and install the ones manufactured by WeatherTech, that install in the window channel, on their Azera? Thanks ...

I have installed Weather Tech Visors on my Azera and really prefer them to the chrome versions or the stick on type. It takes a little patience to install but can be done. Your windows might not want to go up all the way at first and will need a little help to fully close. In a week or two, they will fully seat and the windows will go up with no help.

We have WeatherTech on her Santa Fe and my Azera. Work great and easy install on both. A must have on rainy days.
  • rgb42rgb42 Member Posts: 40
Thanks for the updated info, I really appreciate it. I see they only come in a "light", not dark color with no choice ... was wishing they came in dark, but am going to go ahead and order them today. Would either one of you happen to have closeup photos of your Azera with the vent visors in place? Again, thanks for the info.

Steve, I dont know if or how we can post photos on this site but if you go to this URL, in their advertising, they used some photos of my car. The window visors are not easy to see since the shade is very close to the tinted windows.

OK, I ordered the Weather Tech vent visors on Monday, they were delivered before 8 a.m. Tuesday (free shipping!), couldn't believe it. Anyway, I got the old AVS stick on vent visors off with very little trouble. Cleaned up a very little bit of the residue left on the chrome and then installed the new vent visors ... very easy install. As I was interested in seeing these before I purchased them and no one had any really good photos of what they look like on the Azera, I took some photos for those that may want to view them, before purchasing, as I had wanted to do. I am embedding one photo below, but you can click on the link below the photo to view more, and larger photos at the site. When you get to the site, clicking on a photo brings up a larger photo. Hope this might help others.

    Zredsox;
In your post "Installing Turn Signal Mirrors on 2006 Azera" you provided some excellent photos of how to do the job. :)

I believe you said you had a Limited and not an Ultimate model. I did not see a picture of the driver's door mirror control. Did your car have the switch that makes the mirrors do a power fold-in? Or did your installation not include that feature? I would like the heated, power fold-in and the turn signals incorporated in my 2007 Limited. Is that feasible? Or am I just limited to the turn signal feature? :confuse:

I have the Azera Limited, with the Ultimate package. The model is Limited and Ultimate is a package ... they offer 3 different packages on the '08: the Navigation package, the Ultimate package, and the Ultimate Navigation package. My outside mirrors do fold in, are heated, and have the turn signal indicators. I had the heated fold in mirrors on my '04 Maxima also. For me, the fold in mirror feature is something that I don't use and would not pay for, except I had no choice ... the heated mirrors are nice in winter. I have read in previous posts where you can purchase and install the mirrors you want ... I believe the poster also provided photos of the install, or at least a link to photos of the install. The photos I posted really don't show the install ... I posted more for people who just wanted to see what the Weather Tech vent visors look like once installed. The other thing that I had been concerned with regarding the Weather Tech vent visors is that they are only available in a 'light' tint and not a 'dark' tint for the Azera. I prefer dark and was worried the light would be too light ... although not as dark as I prefer, they turned out to be not as light as I thought they would be from seeing photos of them on different dealer's websites. I like them and they are sure a whole lot better, functionally, than the AVS stick on vent visors I originally purchased and installed ... and they don't cover up the chrome over the windows!

    Joe -

As the pictures show, the install is very easy.

My car is a 2006 Azera Limited with the Ultimate Packaqe, so the original mirrors did fold in, were heated and would wink at any blonde that pulled up beside me. The only thing the 2006 original mirrors didn't have was the turn signal built into the face of the mirror housing. The replacement mirrors have all the capabilities of the original mirrors plus the turn signal built in and the smoke release nozzle. So, now I have an answer when someone asks me, "How's that done?"

Bob, don't get me wrong, I like the visors, I tried two of them from Weather Tech. But I had both of them snap on the front windows in the upper corners when I put the windows up. I even ground the ends to half their thickness on the second order to help reduce the effect of the window coming up against them. It didn't work. Plus, the whole point of the visors in the rear windows was missed when the glass was lowered an inch or two. That little bit of angled window, what 5 or 6 in, was open to the elements, rain etc. I really wanted mine to work too. It was the first mod I did/tried to do to my 06 Zerra. Weather Tech was good on my refund. I liked your pic's.
  • rgb42rgb42 Member Posts: 40
Seems I read a post (probably yours) someplace in the past about the problem you describe of the plastic flanges snapping. Fortunately, I didn't have that problem, they went in pretty easy and so far, have had no problem with the windows being lowered and raised. I agree with you on the rear window visors. I noticed that when I had installed the AVS stick on visors that when the rear windows are lowered there is a gap between the glass and window frame towards the rear. But, when I ordered the Weather Techs, I went ahead and ordered front and rear because although I knew that problem exists with the rear windows, I thought it would look weird with the vent visors only in place over the front door windows ... so I went ahead and spent the money just for the matching looks pretty much. Thanks for the kind words on the photos, I appreciate that.

Has anyone replaced the rear taillight strip with the azera letters (between the taillights) with an Azera "Grandeur" LED light strip? I am interested in turning this strip into a LED light strip but I want to keep the Azera letters. Does anyone know if the "guts" of the Grandeur strip can be removed and put into the Azera strip that came on the car?
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
You might be better served by removing the Azera strip and drilling holes in the back side of it and inserting LEDS and securing them with clear silicone, then you could just tie it into the wiring from one of the tail lights. Just a suggestion that would save you a lot of money compared to buying a strip just for the "guts".
  • gr8guyimgr8guyim Member Posts: 5
Thank you for your suggestion. Do you know where led light strips can be purchased? Do you know if the back of that strip is closed or not? The Grandeur strip appears to be open.
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
I know that I've seen LED strips being sold at AutoZone, check there. If not...look onlinse and I'm sure you'll find a few sites taht sell them.

I haven't had that strip off myself, but it looks like it should come off pretty easily.

Good luck and post any results you come up with.

I bought the same one's from weather tech a few months ago. I was a bit leary since they only came in light, but since I have a black car with tinted windows, it actually looks really nice, you almost cant tell they are there.
  • rgb42rgb42 Member Posts: 40
I'm assuming that when you say you have tinted windows, they are "after market" tint. I'd like to get mine tinted also, but here in NY we are pretty limited on the amount the windows can be tinted. Having a black car, like you, I think it would look nice. Do you happen to have any photos of your car? I like the Weather Tech visors and the way they look on the car very much. Hey ... do you work at the White House?
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
The legal limit on tint down here in MD is 35%, but most folks go with 20% (in most cases to match factory tinting on SUV's and the like). I've got 35% tint on my Azera and it looks great (my opinion). If you select a tint, try to find the new ceramic tint as opposed to the metallic tint. I say this because the metallic tint will interfere with the antenna which is located in the rear window. The ceramic tint doesn't have the metallic content to interfere with reception, and still maintains the "no-fade" properties of the metallic tint. Just a lil FYI. ;)

Hello, Before you purchase any vent visors, log on to ebay and search for 250174470651, these are chrome plastic and really look great. I have an 07 pearl white with the stainless steel piller post ( 10 pcs ) which dressed it up beyond imagination. I will be adding the chrome vent visors to compliment the pillars. I'm now searching for an exact trim kit that matches the factory wood trim. I found a kit with 52 or 56 pcs. but $300.00+ dollars is a bit much. It might be going overboard a bit. Good Luck
  • fittvrfittvr Member Posts: 5
do you have an account with weather tech? I went to there site and shipping was $14.00 ground. How did you get free shipping? Did you make more than one purchase?
  • msazzyindcmsazzyindc Member Posts: 118
No i don't work at the White house, sorry. But I had a 35% tint on my windows, and it looked great.
