Any help greatly appreciated!
All the incentives seem to be aimed at RETAINING their current customers.
Why do they have no interest in enticing an import buyer? I am not a finance or lease customer, so those incentives mean nothing to me. I want discounts, not free money from the government. Looks like GM has nothing for me. Sad, this was the first time in over 10 yrs I even am giving them consideration.
It seems like they really do not want the business.
GM is missing a great opportunity to put a GM car in as many US homes as possible, while Americans want to support the company.
They said that they're not getting any more until November, so they're not as willing to sell super cheap. I believed it, but maybe I'm a sucker.
FWIW, I love the vehicle, although the build quality on minor things is giving me pause............
With rebates or 0% financing new cars seem to be a much better overall value.
The mark-up on a used car like this one is between $3,500-$5,000.
Good Luck!
Basically, you would get the $750 doubled to $1500, plus GM owners get an additional $1500. GM card holders can also use their "top off" offers. In my case, it would be $5,000 off before the dealer discount, and then 0% financing on top of it.
This same dealer has the same offer on '09 Chevy Traverses.
There are dealers out there willing to deal, it's just a matter of finding them.
To qualify for the owner loyalty rebate, you must currently own or lease a GM vehicle (excluding Saab). They usually ask for a current copy of the registration card for the GM vehicle to prove you are, or someone at your household's address is, a GM owner. The owner loyalty rebate expires 06/30/2009.
I have only interacted with Kerbeck via email so far, so I can't provide an opinion of them. The email interaction was typical of most dealers I have ever dealt with. I have not yet driven the 100 miles there to visit them in person.
I think it is important to recognize that the deals on GM and Chrysler vehicles right now are simply unprecedented. Once the companies complete their reorganization, they have made it clear they intend to drastically cut production and equalize supply and demand. Once that happens, rebates and incentives will be minimal, and prices will stabilize (both new and used.) It is starting to happen now. The standard rebate on Acadia is $750. That is "nothing" compared to the $30K+ price of the vehicle, and hardly enough to entice people to buy. What we are seeing is automakers weaning people from rebates. It is long overdue and essential for long term survival.
Thanks!
I am in the process of negotiating on a new GMC ACADIA
2009 SLT-2 just about fully loaded with, Nav, moon roof, DVD, power lift, camera, proxcimity sensors, 120Vac outlet, No trailer hitch and cooling unit for the transmission, No hit the road package, standard wheels, black leather, black ext. The price I am at now is $43,079. @ 0% financing in NY.
The dealers are not budging lower than their initial $3K reduction in sticker price that seems to be common everywhere.
I will let you know how I make out in the end and if there are any hidden fees.
It is my feeling that the dealers will not receive any more 2009 stock and they are trying to unload what remains on the lots. It is my bet that the 0% financing will comeback before year end to help keep the cars moving. In the next few months they will have the 2010's.
Before I got interested in the Acadia I was looking at the Acura MDX. The interior and 3rd row is not that functional compared to the Acadia. The Adadia is a rolling entertainment vessel. The captain chairs are reel cool because it makes the 3rd. row passengers feel less restricted. The second row seats are indivually adjustable front to rear. This is good for making room for the 3rd. row passengers if they aren't little kids. The ride is nice! I liked it better then the MDX. The only weird thing was the turn signal was silent with no click click sound. Something I will have to get use to.
We drove a SLT1 with rear DVD, dual sunroof, visibility pkg, power liftgate, trailering pkg, remote start, 115v power outlet. We like the Acadia, but feel like we can get more for out money for a comparably equipped CX9 or Pilot. In our opinion, the biggest thing we lose by not getting the Acadia is that the other two don't have the 2nd row captains seats, but we can get over that. It is also larger and has a few more convenience items than the others, but those things are minor to us.
We had no intention of buying or even talking price, but the saleperson asked us to sit down anyway, and I was curious what he'd throw out. The GM of the dealer came out and said he had lots of money from GM to give until July 31. This was his inital offer:
$44,090 (MSRP including destination)
$750 rebate
$3,346 discount
$39,994
When we were getting ready to walk out, the salesperson told us if we were ready to buy they could look at sweetening the deal a bit - so I assume we could have knocked some more off the price above, but I'm looking to get into the low 30s before a trade in and figured there was no way to get there from where we were. Invoice including destination for this vehicle is $41,427. Just thought I'd throw it out as a data point for anyone looking right now.
MSRP - $46,330
i bought it for $42,800 + Sales Tax and other fees
it includes,
rear view camera with navigation
dual skyscrap sunroof
remote starter
heated front seats
dvd entertainment package with rear seat console
8 passengers
other standard stuff like roof rails, etc.
the only thing my car doesn't have is trailer package and cooled seats.
tell me your opinion on this deal.
My plan was to put $12,500 down but if i can finance the full purchase price, i maximize my savings using the 0% offer.
Financing $42,500 at 0% has a present day savings value of $4,506 vs financing at 4.5%.
Financing $30,000 at 0% has a present day savings value of $3,181 vs. financing at 4.5%.
Both of these assume 60 month schedules. Both are significantly better than the $2,250 cash off incentive.
remember if you finance whole amount then the monthly installment will go high.
but still i think its a great deal.
My understanding is that the primary qualifier for the 0% is a 700+ fico score. I'm right around 800 right now so i should be good.
Yes, the payment would be high. My plan would be to leave the $12,500 in a separate savings account pulling out $300 or so a month to supplement my regular payment.
If you could describe the rebates that would be very helpful... I'm "this close" to pulling the trigger on an 09 AWD, but my local options are fading, as these the 09s are leaping off the lot with supplier pricing and the 0%/60 months promotion going right now. As such, my dealer doesn't want to budge from the supplier cost price point...
Thank you in advance.
$2,250 customer cash
$1,500 conquest
$1,000 aged inventory
another $500 was associated with a dealer rebate.
Hope this helps - good luck!
It sounds and looks like the 2010 Acadias will be coming out sometime in August. Do you think $500 below invoice is fair? Should I wait for the 2010?
I just hope the thing holds up - fingers crossed.
The one I am looking at is a 2009 so will the deler be getting the aged inventory rebate? I am going to take the 0% if I buy it so I think I am SOL on the $2250 customer cash.
Thank you!
Good Luck.
350.00 Estimated Motor Vehicle expense(State imposed)
Also, does anyone know if the rebates are before or after taxes?
Thanks.
39 months
12,000 miles per year
$2600 down
$385/month w/gm discount
thoughts?
If you do plan on keeping it for a while, then the trade-in value is less of an issue but I'dthink about an extended warrant.
Whatever you do, get a CARFAX report and have a mechanic check it out. Good luck!
True - We're talking about $13k more. But for that $13k you get a newer car, 55k miles back and a warranty that you'll probably need. Even at 15k mi / yr, that's 3 1/2 years of ownership you're giving away. Also, one 55k SLT-2 Acadia that I looked at in MA was already in their shop with a power steering pump replacement. During negotiation, they told me they'd invested $2,200 in repairs in this vehicle (as if this would make me want to pay more).
2009 new Acadia's come with $2,500 in rebates + $500 discretionary dealer rebate and another $500 for your waiver of the "try it for 60 days" program.
BTW - If you do look for a new 2009, don't just look locally. I found a new one in another state and paid $300 to have it shipped to my driveway.
Thanks!
MSRP $42,760
Invoice $41,297
Sales Price $41,447 (the dealer said they'd sell for $150 above invoice, I'm not sure what the "dealer holdback" is from GM, but I'm assuming they're making more than $150 on the car.)
In addition to the $41,447, the following rebates apply:
$1,000 Old Inventory
$1,500 GMC current Promo
$500 Waive of 60 day money back guarantee thing
$550 rebate for the driver seat not being 10 way power (this is some non-advertised rebate, but given that most SLT-1's are only 6 way, it applies to most SLT-1's)
So, $3,550 in total rebates brings cost of the car to $37,897. I saw someone else say they paid $35K for a 2009 back in Oct 09, but that's also a 2009, so I'm wondering if I'm paying too much and I should be more like $35K. How much holdback is there to work into? Thanks.
The car doesn't have side steps or rear DVD and they offered a price of $500 for side steps and $1000 for DVD to install at dealer.
How does that pricing sound? Anybody getting any better deals? Any rebates I'm missing?
Thank you.
