i bought a black automatic LE this weekend for 15,700. negotiated price without including a tradein,because i told them i like the offer from carmax. they said we were $600 off, but i insisted on amount. sales mgr came over. he matched carmax tradein price and then agreed on 15,700. this included ev package 1 and floor mats. salesman is also giving me nitrogen for tires (im a little hesitant about this). i don't know how well i did, but Consumer Reports report said that bottom line cost to start negotiations was $15,731 before any options.
got 0% for 60 months which saves me about $2,300 interest. the finance guy said you need minimum of 680 FICO to qualify.

My only complaint is my salesman lost one of the keyless control key :mad: (car comes with 2 keys with keyless controls, 1 regular key and 1 valet key). The salesperson said they will order a new one from Toyota and ship it to me. I'll see how it goes. Can I take any steps if they don't mail me a new one?
Other than the lost key thing I'll recommend Fitzmall.
Glad to hear you had a good sale! I'm sure that they will get you the key. They really did not come across as sleazy and they were very quick with anything that I needed. I also drove about 100 miles to get my car too.
It makes it so easy knowing that you are getting a great deal and all of the pressure is off.

Jenkies! 15,7000 OTD ... please tell me that was with the 1,000.00 graduate discount. I'm showing a "great price" of 16,400 from Truecar.com. I talked with them (fitzmall) and got a quote of 16,500 ish for that package. I thought I had a decent thing goin' starting my talks at 16 flat for a base model with cruise option added! I just purchased a LE with cruise,keyless entry, power locks & windows,and tinted windows for 16112 (before tax & title). Also got the 0% financing. Great price, great car and great internet sales from Toyota Richardson. Ask for Jeff absolutely the least hassle/least gamey salesman I have ever dealt with. Gave the best price in town right from the start.
I began all contacts with the internet staff not the regular salesmen. I told them that I did not really care about price or features other than power doors and cruise and that was not a deal breaker as cost was the real factor and that was the price I was offered. I did buy on the last day of the month as I had been told you often get the best price then (bought the day I began making contact told everyone I was buying that day if possible). Toyota of Dallas internet sales dept Derrick (I think) agreed to match but I went with TOR as they came in with the price first and were a little less pushy.

Perhaps you should wait until after Christmas and buy the car between Christmas and New Year. I noticed that prices always get better towards the end of the month.

Thought I'd update with what I actually paid. Bought Nov 2 (so end of the month october) & the dealer needed to sell two more cars by the day's end. Bought the '10 LE with power package (keyless, cruise, power windows/locks), floor mats. No trade no financing. OTD for 16000 (everything included). The car was right off the truck... they were still taking the tape off, so no mileage. The previous price I had posted did not include TTT (as I thought... I looked it up again).

No I did not get the Graduate Rebate since I paid cash. The Graduate rebate is offered by Toyota "Finance" not by Toyota "Motors." I wish Toyota Motors offered this rebate since I recently graduated.

Also, does any one have any experience of what happens when one turns in a leased car at the end and wants to walk away? Do they really try to nail you with even minute details and claim that it is excess wear and tear? Put another way, if I were to walk away from the leased car without a new lease or buying the leased car, how much am I looking to pay in terms of end charges? I am really worried about this since this is my first lease and I don't want to become obsessed with keeping the car clean at all times, etc.

Subtract 3K from the Sticker Price and that would be a good price. Again, check out fitzmall.com as these are the best Toyota prices I could find on the web. I'm sure your dealer will just hate it when you print off some of the deals at fitzmall. Truecar.com seems like good data, yet you should be able to do a much better deal than what is described at truecar.com.

Wait until Dec 30-31 and go in there willing to pull the trigger with a i will buy now at this price. Make it reasonable but something you can live with do your home work. Be willing to walk out I have walked out when buying my last six new purchases since 1998 at least once some twice.
Just purchased an identical car at Darcars Toyota of Frederick for $14,500 including the $750 rebate 2 days ago. I used Fitzmall's price ($14,611) to negotiate, and the Internet sale manager gave me the price in 5 minutes. All communications are done via e-mails and later by phone. But due to high price tag for tax and registration for the car in NJ, the OTD price is close to $16,100 and actually is a few dollars more than the OTD price if I bought from Fitzmall. For out-of-state buyer, there could be some unexpected charges when you deal with the financial department of the dealership and your salesman may not know it. So, make sure you OTD price does include everything and have it verify by the financial department.

I am CA. Actually I saw some ads this weekend and the lowest was $14,488 plus fees and there were 4 at that price. Obviously, the price can go lower. Regardless, I am not worried over a couple hundred dollars. Its a great car and I am happy with the deal. I paid $14,777 plus tax, license and fees. OTD was $16,498.

Ended up getting 16,600 out the door with grad but not 750$ (So essentially 16,850 OTD with only the 750$) You definitely still have some run to negotiate. I ended up buying at Toyota of Anaheim. Garden Grove was awful, Elmore couldn't do anything for me. Huntington Beach was helpful but wouldn't go any lower.

Saw 2 ads over the weekend in So. Calif advertising new 2010 LE Corolla for 13,888 before ttl, but that included the 750 and college grad 1000 rebates. One of the dealer offered 8 to choose from (not just 1). Trying to use that ad to bargain with other local dealers, I won't qualify for the 1000 college grad rebate, so that should bring the price to 14,888 + ttl. Anyone has some idea what my OTD ballpark price should be based on the LA county tax rate of 9.75%?

Take Corolla LE sedan for example, the lowest price I can find from fitzmall is about 14661, but they don't do deliver, I need to arrange auto transportation and I did not do much research, just ask one agent, at least it costs $1000 from MD to CA. Plus I still have to pay CA tax, 9.25%. So i guess to save trouble, I just buy one from my local dealer.
Finally got the LE Corolla MSRP: $17,950 for $16,760 otd @ 9.75% tax, I'm happy with this deal since Longo was quoting me $18,000 otd for the same car, cheers!

2. How about TTL? I am living in CA (tax rate is about 9.25%), and what else should I pay before I can drive it legally?
