i bought a black automatic LE this weekend for 15,700. negotiated price without including a tradein, because i told them i like the offer from carmax. they said we were $600 off, but i insisted on amount. sales mgr came over. he matched carmax tradein price and then agreed on 15,700. this included ev package 1 and floor mats. salesman is also giving me nitrogen for tires (im a little hesitant about this). i don't know how well i did, but Consumer Reports report said that bottom line cost to start negotiations was $15,731 before any options.

got 0% for 60 months which saves me about $2,300 interest. the finance guy said you need minimum of 680 FICO to qualify.

I can't thank you enough sdride, for making us aware of Fitzmall. Drove 100miles but was worth it.

Purchased a 2010 Corolla LE automatic with all power options, keyless, cruise and 1mile on odo. Paid cash OTD $15700. The salesman said this was the price they were selling LE Corollas for the weekend only.

My only complaint is my salesman lost one of the keyless control key  (car comes with 2 keys with keyless controls, 1 regular key and 1 valet key). The salesperson said they will order a new one from Toyota and ship it to me. I'll see how it goes. Can I take any steps if they don't mail me a new one?

Other than the lost key thing I'll recommend Fitzmall.
  • sdridesdride Member Posts: 5
Glad to hear you had a good sale! I'm sure that they will get you the key. They really did not come across as sleazy and they were very quick with anything that I needed. I also drove about 100 miles to get my car too.

It makes it so easy knowing that you are getting a great deal and all of the pressure is off.

I just leased a 2010 Corolla Le and am panicking that I did not get a good deal, as I have never done this before. I don't know all the specifics (I wish I'd done some research before hand, but I went in there and before I knew it I was getting the car!)

Down: 295, not including DMV stuff and GAP insurance
    Monthly: 195

Basic Corolla Le with only extra being floor mats. I got the $1000 graduate rebate too.
If anyone could let me know if I got a good deal or what to do next time I would greatly appreciate it, thank you!

Thanks, gtee. I was not able to get such good prices from Atlanta at all. The best I got 1.5 months ago was $16,000 OTD + tags since I need to register by myself at my county for a base LE + Cruise Control + Keyless that does not open the trunk. Which dealer did you get this price from? Thanks!
  • danialson67danialson67 Member Posts: 1
Jenkies! 15,7000 OTD ... please tell me that was with the 1,000.00 graduate discount. I'm showing a "great price" of 16,400 from Truecar.com. I talked with them (fitzmall) and got a quote of 16,500 ish for that package. I thought I had a decent thing goin' starting my talks at 16 flat for a base model with cruise option added! Sounds like I have some work to do ...

    Cheers ...

I just purchased a LE with cruise, keyless entry, power locks & windows, and tinted windows for 16112 (before tax & title). Also got the 0% financing. Great price, great car and great internet sales from Toyota Richardson. Ask for Jeff absolutely the least hassle/least gamey salesman I have ever dealt with. Gave the best price in town right from the start.
  • nguyentduc17nguyentduc17 Member Posts: 1
May i ask how did you get that price, because they gave me a quote of 17200 OTD
for the same package that you got
  • mame600mame600 Member Posts: 3
I began all contacts with the internet staff not the regular salesmen. I told them that I did not really care about price or features other than power doors and cruise and that was not a deal breaker as cost was the real factor and that was the price I was offered. I did buy on the last day of the month as I had been told you often get the best price then (bought the day I began making contact told everyone I was buying that day if possible). Toyota of Dallas internet sales dept Derrick (I think) agreed to match but I went with TOR as they came in with the price first and were a little less pushy.
  • gteegtee Member Posts: 179
My price was $16700 OTD plus I got the $1000 college graduate rebate. Which made my OTD $15700. I also noticed that the prices are up since end of November. Perhaps you should wait until after Christmas and buy the car between Christmas and New Year. I noticed that prices always get better towards the end of the month.

I started my negotiation by going to Overstock.com and getting a price from there. The dealers called me and I negotiated for the lowest price from there.

    Hope that helps

Thought I'd update with what I actually paid. Bought Nov 2 (so end of the month october) & the dealer needed to sell two more cars by the day's end. Bought the '10 LE with power package (keyless, cruise, power windows/locks), floor mats. No trade no financing. OTD for 16000 (everything included). The car was right off the truck... they were still taking the tape off, so no mileage. The previous price I had posted did not include TTT (as I thought... I looked it up again).

I've been reading this thread and many others and am still having a hard time figuring out what price I should shoot for. I want a 2010 Corolla LE with keyless entry and cruise control. I'm not concerned with any other add-ons. I'm in Southern California and will be taking the 0% financing (so no 750$ rebate).Any help?
  • imnewbieimnewbie Member Posts: 2
No I did not get the Graduate Rebate since I paid cash. The Graduate rebate is offered by Toyota "Finance" not by Toyota "Motors." I wish Toyota Motors offered this rebate since I recently graduated.

2010 LE with cruise, all power, keyless, all weather package and floor mats.
Advertised price was $14,600 (including $750 Factory Rebate)

    So, $14600+TTL = $15674 OTD cash payment

Bought on the day after Thanksgiving.

Today, 2010 LE with cruise, all power, keyless and floor mats. 15K = 16,790 OTD

Made a deal with Toyota West in Columbus Ohio (Georgesville Road). They quoted me a price....drove down there from Westerville, then they wouldn't do the deal. Bottom line DONT DEAL WITH TOYOTA WEST IN COLUMBUS OHIO. I then went to Tansky Toyota in Dublin, Ohio.....16,400 OTD....Love the car

Can any one please share what was the least price paid for 2010 Corolla LE... I am waiting on around 14,500+TTL.

    MSRP: $17,950
  • mullink1mullink1 Member Posts: 3
www.fitzmall.com is the best deals I could find. I didn't want to make the trip to Maryland, thus I bought the car locally.

I am looking at a 2004 Toyota Corolla LE automatic with 88K miles on it. Its at a Toyota dealership. I would like to get all your opinions on what is a good OTD price I should pay for it. Its in good condition. Thanks.

Well, I found out too late about this forum; just drove off with the leased corolla yesterday. But would still like to know how is the following deal ...

Leased a Corolla 2010 LE A/T with extra value package (fully powered, cruise control, weather guard, heated outside mirrors) and floor mats; 36 Mo/36 K; Residual of nearly $11,000; Paid $1400 down ($400 for '93 Accord trade-in and $1000 for Graduate Rebate) and now need to make 35 payments of $200 each, which includes the GAP coverage from TFS.

Also, does any one have any experience of what happens when one turns in a leased car at the end and wants to walk away? Do they really try to nail you with even minute details and claim that it is excess wear and tear? Put another way, if I were to walk away from the leased car without a new lease or buying the leased car, how much am I looking to pay in terms of end charges? I am really worried about this since this is my first lease and I don't want to become obsessed with keeping the car clean at all times, etc.

Thanks in advance for a detailed reply on both questions!

I am in the market in Northern CA for a new 2010 Toyota Corolla LE automatic. What would be a good price OTD for this model? Any feedback and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  • mullink1mullink1 Member Posts: 3
Subtract 3K from the Sticker Price and that would be a good price. Again, check out fitzmall.com as these are the best Toyota prices I could find on the web. I'm sure your dealer will just hate it when you print off some of the deals at fitzmall. Truecar.com seems like good data, yet you should be able to do a much better deal than what is described at truecar.com.

I am getting a quote (southeast region) for 18888 OTD for a 2010 S with EVP, moonroof, Toyoguard, and carpet mats. Any thoughts on this deal?

Also the same dealer has a used 2009 S with the EVP and moonroof for 16,990 + taxes and fees...the vehicle has 12k miles. how much bargaining room would you guys say there is?

    I appreciate your help!

Is $14,800 plus tax, license and fees good for a new 2010 Toyota Corolla LE automatic? Thanks.
  • greengreengreengreen Member Posts: 1
it seems a pretty deal, since I got a quotation more than 16k before TTL, while you are looking at $16k OTD. Which state you are?
  • waihongwaihong Member Posts: 3
I'm also in the market for a 2010 Corolla LE, I lived in So. Calif. (Orange County). Would really appreciate any tips on actual prices paid for a typically equipped LE. The lowest quote I got in Orange County was 17,100 OTD with the following equipment codes: CK, EM, LE, QA, CF, this is after the 750 rebate and I don't qualify for the new grad. 1,000 rebate. Thanks in advance!

Wait until Dec 30-31 and go in there willing to pull the trigger with a i will buy now at this price. Make it reasonable but something you can live with do your home work. Be willing to walk out I have walked out when buying my last six new purchases since 1998 at least once some twice.

    Good Luck

Just purchased an identical car at Darcars Toyota of Frederick for $14,500 including the $750 rebate 2 days ago. I used Fitzmall's price ($14,611) to negotiate, and the Internet sale manager gave me the price in 5 minutes. All communications are done via e-mails and later by phone. But due to high price tag for tax and registration for the car in NJ, the OTD price is close to $16,100 and actually is a few dollars more than the OTD price if I bought from Fitzmall. For out-of-state buyer, there could be some unexpected charges when you deal with the financial department of the dealership and your salesman may not know it. So, make sure you OTD price does include everything and have it verify by the financial department.

I also tried this price at another Darcars Toyota at Rockville but they not even tried to reply me.

I am CA. Actually I saw some ads this weekend and the lowest was $14,488 plus fees and there were 4 at that price. Obviously, the price can go lower. Regardless, I am not worried over a couple hundred dollars. Its a great car and I am happy with the deal. I paid $14,777 plus tax, license and fees. OTD was $16,498.

Keep looking. I was offered 17,700 with no rebates without even going on a dealership. Ended up getting 16,600 out the door with grad but not 750$ (So essentially 16,850 OTD with only the 750$) You definitely still have some run to negotiate. I ended up buying at Toyota of Anaheim. Garden Grove was awful, Elmore couldn't do anything for me. Huntington Beach was helpful but wouldn't go any lower.

Hi I have some questions about buying cars from fitzmall.

    1. What is the real (plain explanation) about their price? That is the price all I pay for?

    2. How about TTL? I am living in CA (tax rate is about 9.25%), and what else should I pay before I can drive it legally?

    3. How about financing? say I want to buy corolla LE from them but also want to get 0APR financing, should i talk to fitzmall staff as well?

sorry, I am a newbie buying car. Thank you for reading and answering if you can!

Maita Toyota in Sacramento had a ad this weekend for 2010 Toyota Corolla LE automatic 4 @ $14,488. Thats the best I have seen. Hope this helps.

If you're going to buy, do before Jan. 1. See this from a Chicago area car dealer's
    site. http://thomasautogroup.com/Newsletter.aspx
  • maple3maple3 Member Posts: 6
That is very helpful. I am in bay area and just need a quote to talk to dealer. I searched for many prices, this is the lowest so far. I really plan to buy one this week. Thanks a lot!
  • waihongwaihong Member Posts: 3
Saw 2 ads over the weekend in So. Calif advertising new 2010 LE Corolla for 13,888 before ttl, but that included the 750 and college grad 1000 rebates. One of the dealer offered 8 to choose from (not just 1). Trying to use that ad to bargain with other local dealers, I won't qualify for the 1000 college grad rebate, so that should bring the price to 14,888 + ttl. Anyone has some idea what my OTD ballpark price should be based on the LA county tax rate of 9.75%?
  • maple3maple3 Member Posts: 6
I am in north CA. so I think it is 14,888*(1+your tax)+ doc fee 55 + government fee 332.75

It is the best price they promise, however, they will match 150% of (the difference? of) the lower price you can find on local ad.

TTL is based on your driver license. They will give you a temporary tag ($10) and you take care the TTL at your local DMV -- as far as I know for out-of-state buyer and cash-deal.

Financing is based on your residence I think but not sure. If financing, the dealer will collect the tax and give you a check with the same amount of money so you can pay at your local DMV when you register the car.

    Hope it helps.
  • maple3maple3 Member Posts: 6
Thanks for your reply! I am living in CA, so I emailed them to ask about more details. Take Corolla LE sedan for example, the lowest price I can find from fitzmall is about 14661, but they don't do deliver, I need to arrange auto transportation and I did not do much research, just ask one agent, at least it costs $1000 from MD to CA. Plus I still have to pay CA tax, 9.25%. So i guess to save trouble, I just buy one from my local dealer. :)
  • waihongwaihong Member Posts: 3
Finally got the LE Corolla MSRP: $17,950 for $16,760 otd @ 9.75% tax, I'm happy with this deal since Longo was quoting me $18,000 otd for the same car, cheers!

I seem to remember seeing from this forum that dealers receive different discounts (up to 5% below the invoice price) from Toyota. What's the term for the discount? Is it called "Volume discount", or something else? Thanks a lot for your help!
