I went to two dealership in my area and they both gave me MF rate which is far far higher than what it says here.. I told them the rate here but couldn't even get closer around the .00058..

So far the lowest MF I got was .00099. When I asked to match to .00058 they refused and gave up.

    I am in VA.

What is the current RV for 2014 A4 Premium Plus Q with navigation and MF for Tier A?

  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 236,830

    2014 A4 Premium Plus Quattro 36mo, 15K/yr lease

    .00058 MF and 53% residual

Audi dealers are pretty well known for marking up the money factor for extra profit. It's the ones that play dumb or lie about it that really bug me, though...

Thanks! How about 42months and 12k with the same model line..?

They kept saying their rates are flat everywhere but then three of the dealerships in my area gave me all different MF which I found very interesting FLAT rate. LOL

    Thank you!

    2014 A4 Premium Plus Quattro + Navi + Side Assist. MSRP: 44,675.00

15K, 42 month lease. Going to sign next week in Texas - $592.00 per month. How does it sound?

I'm seeing that the residual is 50% with Audi care; What's the MF - is it 0.00078?

Quoted on Premium Plus Q A4 last weekend

    MSRP $44195.00
    Negotiated $41187.10 + Govt Fee 79.75 + Taxes 1635.44 + Doc Fees $199
    Cap Cost $43101.29
    Term: 42 / 12k
RV 52% with Audi Care (they offer me a free Audi Care as an end of the year promotion)
MF 0.00058 (originally .00078 but the sales guy said he did some trick here - I am not sure how it is even possible though)
    2k out of pocket
have about $2400 negative equity on trade-in car.
    Monthly = $549.76

Does this look good to you, @kyfdx?

with No down, the monthly payment is about a penny less than $600.
However I am now considering to do MSD rather than paying drive-off down.

Could you please briefly explain about how MSD works and the current MSD rate?

    I appreciate!

  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 236,830

MSD is multiple security deposits.. by making additional security deposits, the bank reduces the money factor a set amount for each one. I'm not certain of Audi's MF reduction, but I think it's .00008 per deposit. If you used $1800 for three deposits, the money factor would be reduced by .00024.. Lowering the payment by about $16/mo. pre-tax.. This would save $672 over the life of the lease, after which the $1800 would come back to you (it's a security deposit, not a downpayment)..

This is my offer, good? (So. Cal)

A4 Premium plus w/ navi, rubber mats, mud guards, 6-speed manual

    $41970 - final

    $2500 - down payment

    36 months

    15k miles

    $557 Month

  • cbov80cbov80 Member Posts: 1

2014 A4 Premium plus with navi, cold weather package and 6-speed manual
    MSRP - $42595
    They're offer - $41295

    $5000 down they wanted $595 a month for a 36month 12k miles

Doesn't seem like a good deal at all. Need to get them to come down on their end.

I'm looking to lease an Ibis White 2014 A4 2.0L Quattro Premium Plus, B&O, Black Optic pkg and Sport pkg. MSRP is $44,390. I was quoted approx $560/mo (tax incl) for a 42 month/12k miles per year lease. I was told the M/F is .00099 and the residual is 50%. The numbers all seem to jive but does the M/F seem too high and the residual too low? Am I paying too much if I agree to those terms? Thank you.

Forgot to mention that the quote was based on $0 cap cost reduction and about $2k due at signing.

  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 236,830

Looks like they are marking up the money factor from the base rate of .00059, which is typical for an Audi dealer... The residual is correct.

The money factor markup adds about $26/mo +tax to your payment...

I am looking into the A4 2.0T Premium Lease mentioned here http://www.bellaudi.com/specials/new.htm

    299/month for 36m/10k lease
$1723 down payment. 1st payment, $695 bank fee, doc & MV fees due at lease signing. $3495 total due at lease signing plus Audi loyalty or Audi Owner Acquisition 10,000 miles per year .25 ea addt'l, MSRP $37090. Lease end buyout $20749. *State Sales tax is additional.

The residual comes out to ~56% but not sure how to get the MF from this.

    What do you guys think?

I realize that this is not the Allroad forum, but there doesn't seem to be pricing or lease topics there. If you could be so kindly to provide MF and Residuals for 36 and 42 mo leases @ 10 and 12K miles. This would be for Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels.

I leased/purchased an Audi 2014 PP MMI under what Audi termed a "hybrid retail/lease" contract with the following terms:

    • Negotiated Price: $42,500
    • Term: 42 months
    • Balloon payment option of $23,650 to purchase car after 42 months

MY QUESTION: Does this car really depreciate by $18,850 (42500-23650) in just 42 months? In other words, is it really worth $18,850 just to rent the vehicle for 42 months? (It's actually more, since I'm paying about $4,500 in taxes and $3,000 in interest.)

If the answer is "no," I'd prefer to just terminate the lease (without penalty), purchase the car outright and finance it through another lender at the same or lower interest rate.

Add 1% for 10K/yr. Subtract 2% for Prestige trim..

Would really appreciate any insight into my question two posts above. In short, I'm curious if a buy-out price at the end of a 42-month lease of $23,650 is a fair deal for a car priced at $42,500. (2014 A4, quattro, premium plus, mmi).

Is the $42,500 the MSRP or the selling price to you? The residual amount is based on the MSRP. $23,650 is about 56% of the $42,500 price. My co-host will have more information on the Audi residual values.

Oh, I see. The $42,500 was the selling price. The MSRP was $44,620. So, I guess that makes the residual 53%. Is that a decent residual? (I will review the posts above mine to see if I can find a good match.)

Again, I'll let kyfdx comment on the actual residuals offered by Audi, but the 53% seems pretty strong.

That looks like some sort of balloon payment program. Are you in a full tax state like Illinois or Texas? I don't really have much information on those, just on straight lease programs..

Yes indeed. It is a balloon payment program and, yes, I am in Illinois. I've looked at the details and I'm not really sure how the balloon payment program is any different than a lease. I pay a monthly payment for 42 months, and then they either take the car back or I buy it for the balloon amount. Isn't that essentially how a lease works?

  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 236,830

A lease does work the same way, but they don't always offer the same rates/residuals on the balloon as the do the lease.

Of course, the reason they offer that in Illinois, is so the car can be put in your name, and you get the tax benefits from trade-in, or purchase at the end of lease. It's hard to predict the future, as far as residuals (even though the banks try to do it). If you buy out your contract, you lose that option to turn the car in at the end of term. If it turns out to be a car with a lot of problems, or you have an accident and do $20K of repairs, that might be what you want to do. You have to balance the value of that option, against what you'll save by re-financing. Also, a traditional loan would probably have a higher payment, if that makes a difference to you.

So.... $8400 due at signing, plus $323/mo.?

That's more like $570/mo., with just 1st payment due at signing..

I would never put that much money down on a lease. All of that trade equity doesn't have to go towards the downpayment.. they could cut you a check. Your selling price is about 4.8% off. Since they aren't marking up the rate, and the residual is set by AFS, then the selling price is the only variable.

The deal looks decent, and the calculations are correct, but I'd keep all of that upfront money in my pocket. Because, the payment is $570/mo... Putting more money upfront to decrease the monthly payment doesn't change the real monthly cost.

    Hello,

I am new to the forum and love all the good informatino available on here. I am in the market for a 2014 A4 and have a questions about the offer the dealer has made me. I am new to leasing and am very weary of the terms, but am thinking I may do it any way just to try it out. I want a Premium +, but the dealer has a Premium they are offering up to me.

The following is the deal they offered.

2014 A4 Premium - MSRP $39,945 - Selling Price is Roughly $38,900 - 42 mo. - 15,000yr - $4,000 Total Out of Pocket - W/ Audi Care - Not sure the residual off the top of my head, it was like $19,897 or something 48-49% maybe. - Total Monthly payment of $474 including everything.

Does this sound like an ok deal? I am trading in my 2013 STI and am getting $32,000 for it, which gives me the $4,000 down and $809 cash back.

    Thoughts?

I really want the Premium + with sport package only, but the dealer doesnt have one on the lot and before I ask them to find one I want to make sure I am getting an ok deal.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

Is the $4000 all going to cap cost reduction or is that taking care of some of the up front fees as well?

If it's the former, that's usually not a good idea. If the car is totaled or stolen, you're out that money.

I'll let my co-host comment on the financials.

Quattro, right? 42mo, 15K/yr lease with Audicare residual is 49%.

Looks like your $4K is probably 1st payment, acq.fee, AudiCare, taxes upfront and maybe $700 of CAP cost reduction. The biggest problem I see is the selling price. If they were offering you a car on the lot that they really want to move, and a deal that you can't pass up, I could see it. But, $1000 off MSRP? For a car that you don't want? An average Audi deal should be 4%-5% off of MSRP... That's another $1000 lower. That would lower your payments by $25/mo.

If it were me, I'd hold out for the car I really want, and insist on a 5%-6% discount from MSRP. Also, get a breakdown of any upfront money and ask for the money factor. On the A4 Premium Plus or Premium model for 42 months, it is .00059.

And... finally.. What's wrong with the STi that you want to sell it? Is it the hatchback?

So there is nothing wrong with the STI, however, I am adding a new addition to the family and will now need 2 carseats instead of 1 and Daddy can't eat the stearing wheel all the time, so its time to get a more family friendly car.

As for the note about wanting the Premium +, I really wanted Audi Driver Select, however, I was comparing the option in the A4 with the option that was with the 2012 A6 that I went for a ride in some time ago and it is nothing alike, so I am ok with the Premium trim line.

As for the figures above, I was incorrect on a couple of points, below I have redefined the deal with the most up to date numbers I have received. Could you confirm if I should continue beating on this dealer or try to find another that will work on the "factors"?

    MSRP - $39,495 (Not $39,945)
Selling Price $38,100 - 3.67% discount from MSRP
    Taxes/Fees +1st payment - $2,273 (Paid from $4K down)

    Down payment - $4,000

$500 Audi Cash for Presidents Day

CapCost Buy Down - $1,727 - (Remainder of $4K down)

    Monthly payment $470 - 42mo - 15K/yr (including Audi Care)

The dealer I am working with is the only one in the area and they are not a big one at all. They are quite small actually and I am thinking that they probably don't have as much room to bargain as other larger dealers. I have also heard from a co-worker they are harder to bargain with as well.

Thank you for the feed back. I have never leased before and am worried about jumping froma car that "never" loses its value to a car that depreciates instantly once you roll off the lot...

Just wondering if this is a good deal?

    Their deal:
$500 down, 15k miles per year, 36 months, monthly payment is $431 including tax

There are similar deals out there right now with a $1499 cap cost reduction and 10k miles for $299 per month. Does this Audi deal not include state sales tax?

I calculated the payment to be approx $415 per month with a 50% residual and .00018 money factor. Am I missing something? Does 15k miles per year and $1000 less for the down payment boost the monthly payment by $132 per month? Seems too much.

2014 A4 2.0T FWD MULTITRONIC, IBIS WHITE, AUDI NAVIGATION SYSTEM

    MSRP $36,795

Your ePrice for this vehicle is $33,769 + tax & fees!

Well... none of that is unusual for an Audi dealer. I've never found one that was very easy to deal with. Well, they are easy if you don't mind paying a lot.

That just seems like a big monthly payment for a $39,500 car, especially with $4K upfront. That doesn't make it a bad deal, just an expensive car to lease..

Regarding the advertised deal. $1000 more down, plus $700 acquisition fee, plus $1100 for 15K/yr mileage (- 3% residual). That's $80 more per month.... then add sales tax, title and registration.... Getting pretty close.

Yes, but I'm not sure of the specifics, as far as how many MSDs and the MF discount for each one.

Are the new March rates out? Looking for mf and residual for a 2014 Audi A4 Premium Plus Quattro with manual transmission, 36 months @ 10k miles per year. Are the rates for 39 months different? Many thanks!

Ok so stupid question - I'm starting a car search and am considering luxury cars for the first time. I've noticed some have special lease deals like the one below:

    1) Is the asking price still negotiable on these?
    2) Are these usually good deals if they match the car you are looking at?
    3) If you add on a new option to these deals - does it "break" the deal or does it just add to the capitalized cost?

Also whats the MF on 36 month lease and residual on the below car? (36 month, 10k miles)

    2014 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Premium
Rate based on MSRP $37,545 of 2014 Audi A4 2.0T quattro Premium Package, Tiptronic, Cold Weather Package and destination charges, excluding taxes, title, other options and dealer charges.
    Dealer Offer
$379 per month for 36 months
    $2,873 cash due at signing
Offer only valid 3/01/2014 through 3/31/2014
$379 per Month Lease for 36 Months, $1,799 Customer Down, Security Deposit Waived, $2,873 Due at Signing

Sorry for the stupid question - new to luxury cars and want to go in and not give into the "dazzle" :)
