As of 5-30-02 they list "The maximum redemption allowance" of $1,500.00 for the 2002 Yukon, Yukon XL, Suburban and Tahoe. Running your card up to a higher amount will do no good for this one purchase.
I`m am not saying that everyone can get the maximum allowance but this is just a published number.
I must admit I didn`t know of this " maximum redemption allowance " limit until a acquaintance bragged about running his GM up to max every month for three months. Thought I would check on his idea. As often happens if it sounds too good to be true - it usually is not true. You can earn a lot of points - you just may not be able to apply them to your purchase.
Had a total of $4500 in rebates...
$2000 from the rebate
$1500 from the GM card
$1000 from Gas tank Cert.
In fact the dealer said I think you got enough rebates....

The vehicles will normally arrive on dealer lots around 6-8 weeks after the order is placed and started being built.
Ok i have a question for all you Z71 owners
Today me and my gf went shopping. Seen a nice black Z71 burb. What stuck out to me was the plastic piece on the rear fender. The plastic piece which attaches to the fender flare. Id be interested in something like this (protect against rock chips). How is it attached and would it work? Are the rear fenders on the Z71 Tahoes/Burbs the same as the new (99 and up) silverados? Thanks for any help!!!
So why does gm have a 2 week shut down in June to stop production of the 02s and to startup the 03 production?
The information adunker got sounds more like dealer pricing information for ordering purposes.
One has to make that assumption in order to argue ... and some people just like to argue! ;-)

SOme just like having the last word, please reply, as I am not one of them -- either the 'like' to argue or last word types, but we all know others that this applies better to, fortunately he also does not like American made, so, we'll not see him here anytime soon.

Noticed the front bumper is not straight real close to a inch lower on the left side. Does anyone know how to adjust? Is it four to six bolts or to involved? Live about 40mi from the dealer and don't want to them business just yet.
Thanks
per year for seven years. If you go to new card you can't go back to old card. Hope this helps.
You are in the outer edge of the inner circle, and are no privy to the actual current info. I have a dealer salesman friend, he says that the dealers are the last to know anything. He also said that the dates you gave on this board are for pricing, so that proves my suspicion that that is when the dealer can give you an option by option price for ordering/specing out a new vehicle. For example, the dealers still can't give a price for an order of a 2002 Envoy XL, they are just too new, and not in the GM dealer pricing system yet. So the info you are getting from your source is dealer only and is dated by the time you get it. I also am assuming that you work for a Chevy dealer since you didn't include the Envoy in the build dates, and trust me by the time that plant closes on the 25th it will be full of '03 models, with a few off the line ready to ship. Most dealers will have the '03 models on the lots by late July, early August. Your dates are bogus, because if the info you have is true why would it take till September to get the new models to the lots?! That is what you said right? It also depends on the distance from the plant making the vehicle, and it is also effected by how many of that particular model the dealer sells, whoever sells the most gets the new stuff first. Out of curiosity do you know what they are doing with the Bravada? I do.
I'm thinking of buy a suburban,I see the rebates info that you provided. I would like to to know what is the gas tank rebate?
I also would like to know what you think of buying a used 2001 or should I just a new one. Please let me know what you think.
Thanks

They are changing the fullsize vans for '03 too. They are going to get the new engines and transmissions, AWD will be available, and they are adding a set of 60/40 doors on the drivers side of the van. These are much easier to convert and more affordable for most people. If they don't need or want a full size van, they can try for an Astro with a bubble roof.
Olds Bravada? Don't really care. My personal opinion of Oldsmobile isn't very high. Most of their vehicles are copies of some other GM vehicles. I may be wrong on the most, but close. Besides, all Olds will be faded out the next couple of years.
For your information, my dealership sells GM, Chevy, Pontiac, Olds, and Buick. And I CAN price a 2002 Envoy XL.
Strange you don't know, or care about a product that puts bread on your table. You should also know that 2002 is the last year for Olds. What is happening to the Bravada is that they are going to be re-badged as a BUICK!! It will not be offered in extended form and will only have the 5.3L V-8 engine and AWD. Another pop quiz, what plant is the Buick Le Sabre made at.
You sound like you work as a service writer or a service tech, not a salesman. Not discrediting your job, just pointing out that from the info you are giving us all you don't sound like a salesman.
I never said I could price a 2003 model year. Your assumptions have lead you too far. I can price a select few other than the Vibe and CTS, but not anything that really matters much.
You are correct on some point about the window sticker. However, a true invoice does arrive before the vehicle. It almost has to. As an example, do you buy a truck and have it arrive in your driveway before you know how much your paying for it? I doubt it.
If you really want to know, the Buick LeSabres that I have came from the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center. Oh, and FYI, I'm not in service, I'm the Internet Manager at my dealership. How else do you think I have time to waste on these message boards trying to help consumers?
"I'm the Internet Manager at my dealership. How else do you think I have time to waste on these message boards trying to help consumers" and arguing over such petty things, really puts your credibility in the toilet.
I understand that you may be frustrated, but arguing over a plant shutdown (for I assume re-tooling) that occurs every year, or insulting potential customers?, really is that what the internet sales manager is supposed to do?
My credibility has gone nowhere. I care for none anyways. If you look Jaw2000, I've quit arguing over a stupid plant shutdown. Now I have this jmilbrg(or something to that nature) continually trying to ask little trivia questions. I don't typically argue over petty things. I will argue until I may be proven wrong. That is what argruing is. I know others(a-hem) that seem to argue continuously over the same petty issue. I do not insult or degrade potential customers. Most people here have already purchased a new vehicle, or have their mind made up that they are buying a new one.
If you care to know, the reason I have "time to waste" is because I am on the internet all day long. I gather consumer feedback from different areas. That is the job of an internet manager, to gather info from the consumers. Now if I see something that looks wrong, I will reply just like everyone else on these message boards do. I just seem to get more flack from the consumers because, like all consumers, they want to be in control. And that's ok. So if I happen to be wrong, prove it to me. Isn't that what people who argue want - to be persuaded to change their view?
I envy you for having both time to waste, and a job that allows you to 'hang out' on line all day long.
I have heard from a dealer friend (guy who sold me my truck which i ordered in march of 00 and I had up until the end of april to order a 00) that there are some 03 silverados with the quadrasteer out. He personally seen a few at a dealership in illinois. And no these arent the gmc sierra denalis these are chevy silverados 03 model yr
Now one more question, if I was to order a new '03 model truck, can I select the new options that are available, and if so can you give me a price on them? From what you have told me the invoice for the vehicle get to the dealer first, and that makes sense so that all the finance stuff can be done before the vehicle arrives and is ready for final delivery. Now by the time the new stuff hits the lots do you have the ability to use the "build your own" program to price a vehicle w/o an invoice to draw information from, for those that want to order instead of take one from the lot or one that is already inbound to the dealer?
I am tired of the bickering also, so lets bury the hatchet. I still do want to know the actual way that the dealer eventually gets it's information on pricing though. It's not a test or anything, it's actual genuine curiosity.
Oh, and just so you know, Lake Orion is where my Park Avenues are coming from.
So the program now updates weekly, instead of once or twice a year? You can get the options ordered but don't know the price until you receive the invoice, at least at the moment, until GM releases the '03 pricing right? I guess what I am asking is if I wanted to sit down and get a price on a 2002 vehicle built to my liking that it can be done, but can I get a price. I know that they have changed the program for specing out a vehicle, and have not sat down to spec out a new car with the new system. I am in the market for a "mid-size" SUV, preferably an Envoy XL, w/5.3L V-8. I want to get one speced out so I can figure out the financing aspect of it and to make sure it fits into the family budget. So far what I am getting from my local dealer salesman friend is that I can spec it out in the system but I can't get a price yet, and that the prices will be out in mid to late August. The dealer does have some 2003s on order but none of them have been invoiced in GMs ordering system, so he can't give me even a ball park estimate. Is this true? I am figuring that the truck will be stickering at around $40k. I wish I could just talk my wife into a Yukon, would be around the same price, and with the new '03 options...
Thanks
use all your earnings at once !
The new ones you can only use $1500
max on a new GM pickup !
I differs on some models tho.
Just remind the dealer and the GM card
service people you have the "OLD" card !
Ask your dealer about handicap
accessories on your new GM vehicle !
GM pays some $$$ for MOST certain mods.
Ask the salesman...If he looks at
you like your crazy.
Take him to www.gmmobility.com
I think thats the right link .
If not search GM buypower site.
Hope this helps.......geo
BTW: a friend of my dads had a
wheel chair lift thing installed
on the drivers side of his xcab
chevy truck. GM paid like 500 bucks
towards it and hand controls too !
