Rather than a down payment, might I suggest using that same money as multiple security deposits (MSD)? Each security deposit reduces the MF by .00007; a maximum of 7 can be applied, which would reduce your MF .00049, taking your MF from .00130 to .00081.

Reducing the cap cost with money down is not a good idea - if the car is stolen or totaled, you are out that money. With MSD, you get the money back at the end of the lease.

I don't think $475/mo is an achievable goal for this particular build.

How does the MF and depreciation value compared to the gas models already talked about? Any of these numbers for diesels for May would be appreciated.

Residuals are 1% higher than gas model, but $250 less cash, so pretty much a wash. We don't have May numbers, yet.

Lease rates for BMW 328i x-drive 36/12 and option credit? I'm in MA.
If I have to special order my car will I be able to lock in this months rates or am I subject to the programs of the month in which my vehicle arrives? I'm particularly worried about the option credit. How many months has BMW been running the option credit and how consistent are they?

I'm not sure if the option credit is lockable, but it's been going on for 3-4 months now.. You can definitely lock this month's program in, until the end of July..

If the car has been previously registered, then I believe it is **not* available for the option credit.

However, if the car is a dealer demo and has not been registered, then it should still qualify for the option credit.

The salesman sent me the info, but didn't break it down like Edmunds. The Sales Price is $35,630 including $2,500 down (1st month payment, title/license registration, and all misc. fees outside of acquisition fee). The Net Sales Price $39,142.93 after sales tax.

I'm currently sitting @ $350 a month on a 36 month, 10k a year lease. I haven't really pushed too hard and know there is a lot of room left to negotiate. For instance, the two local BMW dealers have the same car and I haven't even really played one off the other.

What would the experts at Edmunds say if I can get the lease at $325 a month including tax and $2,500 down?

$350/mo for a car with an MSRP of $42K is already a great deal. Asking for another $25/mo off would require the selling price to come down another $900. Can it be done? Only you and your dealer know.

Hi guys, I am about to lease my first car. I am looking at a 328d xi for 36 months @ 10k miles per year. The MSRP is $52695, the selling price including all incentives is $46985.00. The dealer used a RV of 62% and MF of .0017, but they said that this could change with my credit score. So monthly payment is $600 if i put $2000 down or $570 if I put $3000k down. The dealer processing fee is $495 and my sales tax is at 4%.

Is it me or do the monthly payments look high?

The money factor is being marked up - base MF is .00130. Residual of 62% is spot on.

Not a good idea to put money down to reduce the cap cost - if the vehicle is stolen or totaled you are out that money.

Plugging in your numbers with the base MF I get a pre-tax payment of $501.17 for 36 months - 4% tax takes the payment to $521.21.

Ask your dealer to break down all the numbers for you to see where the discrepancy is.

Hey Guys,

Getting the following offer for a 320ix with premium package and heated seats (skipped cold weather package and mandatory leather)

MSRP $39,375.00

sale price $36,906.25
Residual 64% (25,200.00)
$3150 security deposit (7 x $450)
Money factor .00130, reduction .00049 (7 x .00007) = .00081

$413.03 payment per month with $3802.53 down ($3150 security deposit + first months payment + plate/registration fee)

Payment includes 9% PA tax

I think there might be another $10 on the monthly payment but based on my reading of truecar/edmonds tmv they are in the ballpark. I am having second thoughts after seeing posted deals for 328s on the forum. I guess extra 1k is making 328 an appealing choice.

Would love to hear expert opinions on the deal and 320 vs 328 scenario.

Hello, can you kindly let me know what a 2014 335xi's MF and residual is for 10k 36 month lease is? And from my previous leases, the 12k is 1% less than 10k, and the 15k residual is an additional 2% less than 10k. Is that still the case?

e.g. say 15k/36M is 59%, then 12k36M would be 61%, and 10k/36M would be 62%. Thanks!

reg007. From what I've read on BMW's website and talking to the guy at Schomp in Denver that's very good. Although without knowing your total costs to get into it it's not possible to say. BMW's site has it for a pretty basic 328d (MSRP about $43K I think) with $4300 total to get into for $389 at 10K miles.

We considered leasing but purchased our 328d instead. Picking it up tomorrow.
