Heck they have steering wheel controls on cars costing one forth as much, but even I don't think ITS WORTH YELLING ABOUT.
Please share your experiences. Is it easy to get one now at closer to invoice price without wait in Norcal
Thanks
My Sequoia tows my boat really well without anything additional.
Re:brakes. Trailer Boats magazine (new one)has a feature on electric vs. surge brakes for boats. You may want to check it out.
I guess I just don't understand your point. How many cars total does that dealer usually stock? 200? (Guessing)... 1% or 2% of your total line up is "collecting dust", let's say for that dealer? I just want to understand your thinking here.

2. If a SR5 is ordered without overfenders, do the front and rear bumpers match the boby color? (I realize they will in Silver Sky).
Thanks
This dealer has never had more than 1 Seq. on his lot, and many times none, over the last 3 months. There was no great point here, just a piece of data, as I had a few minutes to kill during an errand and took a quick drive by the dealer. I expect to see the April sales/delivery numbers posted shortly for Sequoias, which should be up again after a strong March number. Unfortunately, my interest level in buying a Seq. has softened substantially during the past month, triggered by the gas price spike. I'm not really surprised now by some of the early reports that are showing 12 and 14 mpg in the real world, given the weight and heft. So I'm currently rethinking, since I have several months left before the lease expires. I may choose to sacrifice space and take on the occasional inconvenience of being jammed a little, such as on vacation, in order to obtain more moderate mileage performance. Of course if the net prices drop by another $1000 - 2000 (last price I had was invoice + $1700 + state tax + registration), then the fuel cost differential is offset, making it a neutral to positive decision. So if other Seq. fans like 714cut don't want lurkers participating in the forum then I'll rest my keyboard. Doesn't make any difference to me. I still think the Seq. has the best value in this segment, but that Toyota should pay attention to the feedback, problems and annoyances raised in this forum. This is valuable feedback that every manufacturer should want in order to improve the product.
In housekeeping matters, please remember that the Terms of Use (participants agreement) frowns on dealer soliciting or promoting. Thanks.

Ford does the same thing with a very thin (probably 1/4 the Sequoia diameter) flexible whip antannae. It's black and essentially invisible to the eye. Probably 1/20th the cost of the retractable. Zero maintenance cost. Toyota are you listening!!!!
As a consumer, I would like to reply to your message. I have been in the market for a Toyota Sequoia for a few months. I came to your site to get some information. I think I have gotten some wonderful help. A great deal of it has come from two people, Diane4toytoa and Cliffy1. They have been helpful, knowledgeable and their conduct has been, IMHO, above reproach. Had they been soliciting my business, I would have had less trust for them. I sure hope you are not discouraging them from being active participants on this board, as I feel we need them and their detailed and helpful into. If you drive folks like them away, you will be reducing the worth of this board! Folks like myself will be forced to shop for our info elsewhere.
Thanks for considering another perspective!

I would like to take this opportunity to point a few things out that some of you may not be aware of. Beyond the sound advise she has offered here, she genuinely gains a lot of good information from all of you.
She is also very well connected within Toyota and was actually instrumental in getting two different things changed within Toyota. Those were the TSB on the Land Cruiser stereo and the "hammertone" trim on the Limited Sequoia. For 2002, the oak interior will have a matching dash and this is thanks largely to Dianne's pleading of your cases. It will be a shame to loose her participation here.
Come on Edmunds, do the right thing. Admit you've made a mistake and let dianne back in. These forums wouldn't amount to much if the only people here were those of us asking the questions.
That being said, I think dealers should be allowed on the site, to post facts and to clear up misconceptions, which both Dianne and Cliffy have been of great benefit in tht past. Admittedly, Dianne is also a very good source of info on the Seq. Hopefully she will be allowed back on the site down the road, and will avoid bending the rules.
Mapconsultant 3: post 259, 346 are examples of Edmund's no-no's I believe...

So far, I haven't seen any posting objecting Diane's conduct. Rather, her comments are often sought after by the users of this board. Let the users decide.
The gas situation ain't going away, so accept it and move on.
discussion at hand.

Thanks in advance for your help.
With so much metal surfaces exposed I wonder how a vehicle could fight rust. My Volvos' underside are completely coated except where it obviously shouldn't be. I also have read articles that advise against applying more undercoating on top of what manufacturers have already applied.
Well, it seems like Toyota barely applied it.
Cliffy, do you have an explanation. Should I worry about premature rust? Thanks.
I did use e-loan when I was searching for a new car loan on our Highlander. I started in late January and re-applied two more times as my vehicle was delayed in arriving. At the time, I was given a competetive rate of 7.35% / 48 mo. (max loan amount 20k). The last time I applied they offered 7.25% / 48 mo. As it turned out, I did not need them after all. The dealer, after seeing the e-loan package, found a local credit union which was offering 7.1% / 48 mo. so I took it.
I would recommend that you check out http://www.bankrate.com to check out rates, etc. in your area. Interestingly enough, the particular credit union I am using for my loan was not listed.
Good luck...
Dave
I think it is fine for dealers to participate, and clear up misconceptions, give facts and specs, etc. They should not be allowed to promote the vehicle, or self promote their own dealerships. As I have mentioned earlier, this is unfair to dealers who play by the rules; it is also unfair to the consumer. If you want to have a seperate board for this, fine, but PLEASE Edmund's, keep it out of here.
Incidentally, many of the Edmunds boards have no or very little dealer participation, and they do just fine....
