2015 Volkswagen Golf R Lease Questions

i understand that the Rs will begin to arrive in early March -- at least the 500 pre-orders. I also heard that some lease info (residual rates) may be available now.

Any lease details on the R (auto, sound, nav) on a 36 month term @12,000 miles/year would be most appreciated.

Doubtful that they will publish any lease program until March.

Dealer is quoting 00232
can not seem to find out if they are jacking it up or if thats VW bases rate

This car has a very high residual along with a very high Money factor.

residual 67-70%
Will these drop to say a normal rate compared to other VW's?

While the residual is fantastic.The money factor is super high compared to say the GTI.

For March, I'm showing .00172 MF and 66% residual for 36mo, 15K/yr.

Back in Summer and Fall, the GTI also had a similar money factor.. and, a high residual... But, as the MF dropped, so did the residual..

Don't know if that will happen with the Golf R, though.

Hey guys, I'm new here, but do have some experience with leasing. I'm tracking down the last remaining Golf R's and seriously considering a lease.

Here's what I need help with:

Golf R
-15k lease rate and residual
-CT sales tax and fees
-Monthly payment estimate with $1,500 down and all taxes and fees included, OTD payment

I'm using MSRP for each trim level. The dealers I've found list the MSRP as the 'Internet' price, and some don't seem very willing to negotiate, so I'd like to have an idea of where I stand before I go to the dealer in-person. They may give me a slight break on the sale price, but I'm sure they'll try to mess with the rates and residuals to make up their loss of profit.

@kyfdx do you by chance have an idea? I did a a lease for the DCC trim with a sticker of 39,910, sale price of 38,353, 15k miles, .00172 rate, 66% residual, 2500 down, and came out at around $452. Does that sound right with CT taxes and fees included?

I get $441/mo.+tax.. So, $452/mo. with $2500 upfront looks pretty close

The dealer quoted me the same residual but a much higher money factor at 0.0025. At that rate it's not worth it at all. any suggestions to get them to drop? I feel the demand for this car will end up having someone commit to those terms.

Have your checkbook in hand.... and tell them they have a deal if they use the base MF and drop the payment by $40/mo...

If that doesn't work, then wait a few months... the last Golf R was not nearly as popular as the previous R32 iterations from 2004/2008. There are not enough enthusiasts out there to snap up a whole lot of $40K hatchbacks (IMO).

Currently shopping around for a Golf R with manual trans. I've been getting quoted different money factors and residual values by different dealers. The best MF I've gotten is .00182 and the best residual value was 68%. These were at different dealers, my plan is to see if I can get one of them to put those numbers together. My question is if you know what the official VW money factor and residual values are on the manual Base R and manual DCC R.

I show the MF as .00185.

What lease term and how many miles per year are you looking for? Residual is fixed by the bank and the dealer cannot modify it.

I just heard from my local dealerships, that they are charing roughly 7k-10k markup over MSRP on the 2016 Golf R, because they are so rare in production.
Is this true ? Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, what kind of markup is expected ?

What's the dealers?

Politely tell them you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF. And reach out to other VW dealers - only takes one to make a deal on your terms.
