Can I get the May numbers please for 2015 X3 xDrive 28i?

    36 Months / 15K Miles Per Year.

Have a pending deal from yesterday with 55% Residual, wondering if there was an increase for May.

    Thanks, in advance.

Limited numbers from BMW so far ... 56% and .00129 for 36/10 is all we have at the moment.

    Greetings,

Can you post the MF and residual for the following xdrive models: (36mo/7.5kmi/mo)
    2016 X3 35i
    2016 X3 28d
    2016 X3 28i

Are there currently any lease cash incentives or eco credits on the diesel models?

    Thanks,

    .00128 MF and 55% for 36mo, 10K/yr. for all 2016 X3 models.

Don't think BMW has a 7.5K/yr program, but if they do, it's 1% more on the residual.

    No incentives on the X3

Got a sale price of $44551 (msrp 46650). Looking to lease for 36m/15k, Live in MI, 6% tax. What should be the numbers? Sales person told me it is $722.55 with 0 down. What is the residual value, 53%? My calculations shows $678.93.

    52% for 36/15 and .00128 MF.

With your MSRP and selling price, I get a $651.77/mo payment before tax. 6% tax takes the payment to $690.88/mo.

My guess is that the net capitalized cost is higher than the selling price as they've rolled in some of the fees. Get that number from the dealer.

Also, the dealer is allowed to mark up the MF from .00128 - confirm that as well.

Thank you for reply. So, my numbers are ok with correction of residual value which is now worse. Seller said that he was using 0.00129 to calculate payment. He does not want to give me itemized numbers although I insisted on it. What is the residual value for 12k/36m? 54%?

    Hello all,
    I am looking into leasing a 2016 X3.

I negotiated the following and was hoping to get some feedback on anything I should try and adjust. Purchasing in NC but the car is going to PA. Not sure what the tax situation is there. Car is for my parents. The numbers they gave me assumed NC tax numbers.

2016 X3 (x28i) (Cold Weather, Drivers Assist, Tech, Premium)
    36m/15k miles
    MSRP: $49400
    Negotiated price: $46600
    ?Bank fee ("Capped Fees"): $995
    Adj Cap Cost: $47595
    7xSD: $5250
    MF after MSD = 0.0008
    Residual 52%
    Base Payment: $666.42
Monthly Sales Tax (NC 3%): $19.99
    Monthly Payment = $686.41

    Drive off:
    Up front pmt: $686.41
    SD: $5250
    Up front fees: $672
    Up front sales tax: $177.66
    Cash due on lease: $6786.07

Thanks in advance for your help!

PA tax on leases is monthly, and it's the normal rate +3%. So, depending on where they live, 9%-10% on the payment.

Over $700/mo. is sort of pricy for a $49,400 vehicle.. Not that you have a bad deal. Just that the lease program isn't very good on the X3.

    2015: .00128 MF and 61%/62% residual
    2016: .00128 MF and 60%/61% residual

In all cases, the 36 month residuals are just 6% less.

I'm new to leasing, long story short I'm picking up a X3 today wondering if it is a good deal

    2016 xDrive28i
    MSRP: 48,900
    Term: 36/10
    Negotiated price: 44,300
NJ Taxes and Fees first month upfront: 3,900

Assuming your $3900 covers all taxes and fees, then I get $561/mo. So, not bad..

    Some good, some bad ....

Good - the base MF is being used. Dealer can mark it up for more profit, but they aren't doing that here.

Bad - we don't recommend making a cap cost reduction on a lease. If the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money. And, the total cash outlay for the lease is the same.

As is, I get a pre-tax payment of about $524/mo with your numbers; pretty close to your quote of $526.

Each $1000 of cap reduction lowers your payment by about $28/mo, so in reality your payment is around $638/mo.

As you can see, the X3 doesn't lease terribly well .. that's mainly due to the low residual.

So if I remove the cap cost reduction and instead go for MSDs how would that affect the quote? I am trying to understand the math behind it but am finding that piece challenging.

If I adjust the cap cost upwards by $4000 and drop the MF to .00079, the pre-tax payment goes to about $603/mo.

Yes.... even though the payment goes up, you get the MSDs back at lease end, leading to a lower overall cost.

Hello, I'm thinking of trading my 320 for an X3 since I can get the last 6 payments waived on my current lease but I feel like the payment quoted seems way to high. My salesperson quoted $590.00+tax (9% here in Los Angeles) =$643.00 on the X3 with MSRP of $43,700.00. He's telling me the sale price is $450 above invoice which I'm guessing is about $41,185.00 and the residual value is 50% but I'm looking a these posts puting the residual values at 55-59%. Here are the details on the new lease:
2016 X3 sDrive28i with prem. package and driver assistant package msrp $43,700.00
    36 mo lease 10k miles /year
    $1000.00 BMW credit
    $1000.00 total out of pocket
I'm hoping my salesperson is being honest about the residual value percentage otherwise it feels like I'm getting taken advantage of.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on my issue. Thanks

2016 X3's all have the same lease numbers - .00128 MF and 55% for 36/10. Dealer can't modify the residual value.

I get about $610/mo after tax with the numbers you've provided. X3's do not lease well, as you can see.

    Thanks Michaell,
I just had another dealer quote me $554.00 based on the same numbers I provided here, though I didn't get specifics on the residual %. The first sales rep told me " I don't make up the residual value numbers" but seems like he modified them. I'll probably just wait until the end of my current lease and hopefully the X3 will have an attractive program.

Technically true - the bank sets the residual and the dealer cannot modify them.

    Thanks Michaell!!!

Thank you once again!!! So if I do remove the cap cost reduction and instead go the route of MSDs, incase the car gets stolen or totaled, will i get the MSD back?

    Thanks in advance!
Yes.... even though the payment goes up, you get the MSDs back at lease end, leading to a lower overall cost.

I get the same payment before tax. Only way to sweeten the deal is to negotiate a lower selling price. You are saving about $37/mo by using the security deposits, or earning about 10% on that $4550 for the life of the lease.

Yeah I saw that which is amazing! Thanks for your help in this. I tried getting them down to $45,750 which is close to 7% off the MSRP but the dealership did not want to go any further from the negotiated price above mainly due to the fact that they do not have the car and will be transporting it in so they factored the additional $350 for the transportation costs (they need to get the car in before July for me to get these numbers).

Just sharing info on the forum. Turns out the car we were negotiating for was already sold at the dealership it was at and they didn't update their system. So my dealership went ahead and found an equivalent 2016 X3 and brought it close enough to our original deal. I will be going to sign the lease later today.

    2016 BMW X3 xDrive 28i

    36 month/ 10K miles a year lease

    MSRP: $49,150
    Selling Price: $46,144.11
    Adjusted Cap Cost: $47,104.11

    Adjusted MF: 0.00079
    Residual: 55%

    Security Deposit ($650*7): $4550
    Total Upfront: $5364

    Base payment: $616.11
    Tax: $33.89
    Total monthly payment: $650.00

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice!

Lease numbers for the X3 are .00130 and 55% for 36/12. Using your MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax, $0 down, payment of $752.16.

Ask the dealer what the net cap cost is - if it's higher than your selling price, get them to explain what's been added.

Can you help me with a couple of other things:
    1) Also tell me how much the monthly payment would be for 2.5k down and 5k down
    2) explain the formula you used. When I use the formula commonly available on other websites i get the following:
    Depreciation fee = (53,500-55% of 53,500)/36 = $668.75
    Interest = (53,500 + 55% of 53,500)*0.0013 = $107.8
Total = 776.55 before tax at $0 down.

What am I missing here? You are showing me better numbers so I want to get to those obviously

Residual percentage is applied to the MSRP, not the negotiated selling price.
