I'm new to leases. Please help me calculate what my lease will cost me.

Let's assume that I can negotiate an Odyssey EXL for $32k out the door. If the residual value is $20,700 after 3 years, what is my payment? (Btw, I live in Texas)

I want to trade in my 2009 RAV4. I believe it is worth $10k blackbook trade in. I'm hoping to get close to breaking even (paying the full 36 month lease up front with the trade in value)

No way to avoid the money factor charges, even if you were to pay the lease up front.

Odyssey EX-L lease numbers are 54% for 36 months, 15,000 miles per year (you didn't specify this in your original post; add 2% if you only want 12,000 miles) and .00044 MF.

Using your MSRP and selling price (adding 6.25% tax to it), I calculate a lease payment of $431.28/mo for 15K and $411.72/mo for 12K.

Thank you very much for your help! I have purchased several cars and I'm very comfortable negotiating an "out the door price". I can usually negotiate well below "invoice" and I don't pay anything extra for all the dealer add ons. Leasing however, was new ground and intimidating for me.

It's dealer cash... .so, any negotiated price will already include it. Since you know about it, negotiate a lower price.

No difference between Touring and TE. Add 3% to the 15K residual above for 10K per year. Same MF.

on an exl with a sales price of 30,990 (msrp 35775) mf .00044, 36/15, IN tax 7%, 0 down, dest 880 - what do you get for a payment? I'm getting 356.68 and not sure if that's right.

Why are you listing destination separately? does your $35775 MSRP include the destination?

on the calculator I found online it is entered separately, so the 35775 is before 880 dest, sorry for the confustion

Destination is part of the MSRP for the purposes of calculating the residual.

So, if the MSRP is $35775 + $880 destination, then the actual MSRP is $36,665.
That's important, because it changes the residual, and affects depreciation.

With the corrected MSRP, I get $333/mo., not $346/mo.

Most of the makes that were announcing July 4th specials did so about a week ago.. No crystal ball here, but if they were having anything major for July 4th weekend, they are awfully late in announcing it.

In reviewing the recent posts, I note the current program is scheduled to end 9/7/15, would you be able to tell me if I'm better off waiting until after Labor Day (9/7) to proceed in hopes of a better program or is it very unlikely that it would be more favorable? Actually, sales tax on a lease is 9% in PA. With that said, I calculate a payment of $375/mo with your numbers, including tax.

$700 or so missing from the deal - ask the dealer if the bank fee is being added in.

51% for 36/12. Not sure that Honda offers 10K leases in all parts of the country.

Actually, sales tax on a lease is 9% in PA. With that said, I calculate a payment of $375/mo with your numbers, including tax.

I also calculate $344/month plus tax and at 9% I get $375/month. I'd poke at the acquisition fee (otherwise called bank fee) to see if it is hidden in the deal somewhere but you did pretty well on money factor and negotiated price (you are under dealer invoice and Edmunds True Market Value which is essentially the average price paid in your zip).

Using 19109 as the zip code and assuming an acquisition fee of $695 I still get a recommended Leasify Deal Score at 8.5/10 using the iPhone app. This is good!

Rent Charge - $683.20 ??
Products/ Tire & Key Package - $420
Money Factor - .00034
Gross Adjusted - $33,561 (was told they added the products price + $$$)
Dealer Fees ($1605) + Adjusted Gross ($33,561 )= 35,167

The car is located in Tennessee and I live in SC..So we have a maximum tax amount of $300 dollars. My monthly payment is quoted at $421..Does this sound right? If I do 36mths x $421 I get $15,156..

Interesting, I used 38108 as sample zip and I get $422 plus tax by using $35,167 as the price that flows through the deal (rolled all fees into the cap cost that flows through the lease).

The Leasify Deal Score from the iPhone app shows 8.2/10 which is recommended but man those fees look high. Including those fees in the price puts the sales price $756 above what other's paid in that zip code for the car (Edmunds True Market Value) and $122 above dealer invoice.

I'd focus on trying to knock down the fees especially the $599 doc fee - that is really high. I'd press on the other fees as well since the money factor looks good (translates to .8% APR).

Does it help if this is a Zero down Sign and Drive?

Also they knew I wanted to be at the $410ish number so it seems like they moved the numbers around a lot.
