I love my RX-8 thanks for asking. We just got home from the subaru dealer ,and the $1500 is indeed available for the 05 X forester until tommorow. We got the MF you spoke of at .00120 and they didn't give us the residual as a percentage figure but I think it works out to the 48% you spoke of.We signed up for this lease on a red one with automatic. They don't currently have the car but should be getting one soon. They told us the deal was only good until tommorow.I think subaru is trying to spur some early sales of the 05 X models.
Our payments are $347 a month for 35 months due to subaru making the first payment including all sales taxes and excise tax(Mass thing).Do you think we did good?I hope so,and my wife is nervous about a lease for our primary car.But then again she was the final judge on it.I told her she can say yea or nay.It wasn't important to me that we do the deal right now.We only have to come up with $188 doc fee,$86 plate fee,and $75 tax on the rebate that is shown as a down payment. They are giving us $4700 for her protege, and I think we owe $4600 on it.They had us leave a deposit on it of $1000 which I didn't like but we did put it on a credit card. Thanks for your time.
I am interested in the 2004 Acura MDX with the touring package, no Navigation or entertainment package. I want to lease for 36 months with 12K per year.
I need some initial guidance please. i just talked to a salesperson from Jaguar over the phone about leasing a 2004 X-Type 2.5L. She kept saying come on in when I asked detailed questions. She said the promotion going on now is for the 3.0L for $349 per month lease and that the 2.5L is not part of the promotion, but she added that if I leased a 2.5L it the lease payments would be lower than the 3.0L ($349). She also said it would be a 2 year lease. Let me add this, I have the "A" Plan which allows me to buy/lease a Jaguar at Factory Invoice which for the 2.5L is around? $26,690 or Less? She also said the Total Down Payment would be around $3,300. Can someone please inform me or guide me as to what a good per month lease price would be so when I go in I don't get "taken"? Perhaps a $25 range in monthly price that would be Acceptable like $275-$300, something like that. Thank You Much.
You were a big help when I was leasing a car for my mom, hope you can help now too. Looking for info for my boss. Would like to know the money factor and residual on an '04 Range Rover. A monthly payment too??
36 months, 15K/year MSRP= $77,950 with the luxe interior package Car can be leased in MD area or in NJ if that matters. I suggested assuming a lease on an 02 and if he likes it, getting an 05 next year. Do you think that is a better idea, and what kind of incentives if any do you think would be available in Feb-Mar of next year?
I'm thinking of leasing a Mazda 3i with ABS & air bags (MSRP $18150, Invoice $16748). Are there any incentives for this car for September? What are MF and residuals for a 30 month and 36 month lease? I'm thinking of trading in my '97 Volvo 960 (fair/good condition) to reduce the capital cost (we want better fuel economy and lower maint costs). Do you think this is a good idea?
I leased a Blazer back in 1999 for 3 years, with a 12,000 mi/yr allowance. Due to a family crisis, at the time, I had to release with another company. Because I was below the mileage allowance, only at 20,000 mi., I changed the mileage allowance to 8,000mi/yr. I just turned it in with a total of 41,000 miles (5 yr old by now). They just sent me a bill for excess mileage. They're basing this on the fact that it had 20,000 at the end of the other lease. I think I've been had! Anyone would agree this is really low mileage for a 5yr old car. Do I have any legal leg to stand on, or should I just give in and pay? Becky
Hello Car_Man. You do a great job. Do you have the residuals and money factors for the 2004 and 2005 Accord EX-V6? I am trying to decide if I am better off leasing a left over 2004 or a new 2005. Thanks, in advance, for the help.
You're very welcome, nycadguy. If your friend was to lease a 2004 Saab 9-3 Linear Sedan through Saab Financial Services Corp. this month for 3 years with 15,000 miles per, its base lease money factors and residual values should be .00074 and 44%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of a 2004 9-3 Aero Sedan should be .00023 and 44%. When your friend is negotiating their lease on either of these vehicles, make sure that they take the $3,500 lease cash that Saab is providing on them into account.
Greetings lauralee. I would be more than happy to help you out. You never mentioned how long you are interested in leasing this truck for, so for now I will assume that you want to do so for three years, which is probably the most common lease term and is the longest term that Honda's special lease program on the '04 Pilot is available for. According to the latest information that I have seen, if you were to lease a 2004 Honda Pilot EX with leather and the DVD system, but without navigation through American Honda Finance Corp. this month for 3 years with 15,000 miles per, its base lease money factor and residual value should be .00136 and 59%, respectively. Honda is not providing any cash incentives on this truck right now. I am not intimately familiar with what the market for the Pilot is like, but you may be able to get a good idea by looking up its Edmunds.com True Market Value in the New Vehicle Pricing section of this site or by paying a visit to the Honda Pilot: Prices Paid & Buying Experience discussion that appears here in the Town Hall. I would be more than happy to work up a sample lease payment on the exact truck that you are interested in for you if you provide me with its full MSRP and selling price.
"Hello cole. Infiniti is currently providing its dealers with $250 certificates that can be used to reduce vehicles' prices. I don't know exactly how many of these certificates each dealer receives, but I do know that they can use up to four of them on sales of 2004 FX35 models. I am sure that there's not enough of them to use four on every sale, but if you comparison shop you should be able to get the dealer to use a few. As far as this model's lease program goes, if you were to lease a 2004 Infiniti FX35 through Infiniti Financial Services this month, its base lease money factor should be .00179 for any length lease. The residual values for this vehicle are as follows: 55% for a 3 year, 15,000 miles per lease of an '04 FX35 AWD, 56% for a 3 year / 12K lease of this model, 47% for 4 year / 15K, and 49% for 4 year / 12K. The residual values for the 2004 FX35 2WD are 1% lower for all of the above term / mileage combinations.

Car_man - Can you give me any information on leasing support being provided by Infiniti for September?
Hey Chris. You never mentioned the full MSRP and selling price of the Forester that you are getting, but from looking at the other details of the deal it appears to me as though you are getting a good deal. That is assuming that you are having the dealer cut you a check for your trade rather than using the proceeds from it as a capitalized cost reduction. I would be more than happy to work up a sample lease payment on this model for you if you provide me with the aforementioned pricing informaiton.
Hello nans. If you were to lease a 2004 Acura MDX Touring without navigation and without the entertainment package through American Honda Finance Corp. this month for 3 years with 12,000 miles per year, its base lease money factor and residual value should be .00221 and 60%, respectively. This special lease money factor is the only support that is available on the '04 MDX at this time.
Hey Car Man. Just checking to see if you've been able to dig up residual and money factors (12,000 miles per year, either 36 or 39 months) for the new RSX's yet. Looking for an Automatic with leather, MSRP is $22,720.
Hi sting. Jaguar has special lease money factors on the 2004 X-Type 3.0L this month, but it does not have any lease support on the '04 X-Type 2.5L. If you were to lease the latter, you would have to use the $5,500 dealer cash that Jaguar has on it right now to negotiate an attractive capitalized cost and then lease it using Jaguar Credit's standard lease program or through an independent bank. You are in good shape is you are eligible for Ford's A-Plan. This provides you with an attractive selling price without any need to haggle. When leasing either of these cars, remember that consumers can and should lease any vehicle that they are interested in without making any sort of down payment. The only things that you should have to pay at lease signing are your car's first month's payment, a security deposit of that payment rounded up to the nearest $50 increment, and Jaguar Credit's lease acquisition fee of $495. I would be more than happy to calculate a sample lease payment for you on the car that you are interested in, if you tell me its full MSRP, selling price, how long you want to lease it for, and how many miles per year you need to be able to drive it.
Thank you Car_man. Here is some additional info for you. According to edmunds.com info on the 2004 X-Type 2.5L, the MSRP is $29,330. The Invoice is Listed as $26,690. However, I do not know if this is the Dealer Invoice (Probably) or the Factory Invoice which is what the "A" Plan is based on. How do I find the Factory Invoice? The Salesperson at Jaguar said that the Lease Mileage for the 3.0L is 10,000 per year. However, he said whether I Lease the 2.5L or the 3.0L that I can always request a different Mileage allowance. We do not plan to drive too much in it but 10K may be too low. I would feel more comfortable with 12K per year. Would the lease price per month be significantly lower with 10K per year as opposed to 12K? Because I do not know the Factory Invoice, so we may need to use $26,690 as a Selling Price for now on a 2 Year Lease at 12K Miles per Year (unless 10K is a much lower price). One other thing, so you think that despite me using the "A" Plan on a lease that I could still "haggle" with them on the $5000 Incentive toward a better Capitalized Cost? I had someone tell me that the $5000 Incentive could only be applied toward a purchase, not a lease. Thank you much.
Any word on AHFC's September numbers? Specifically, I'm speaking of the TL. I last posted here in June, as my Honda lease was due to end in July. At that time, you recommended extending the lease in order to see the benefits of higher residuals on the 2005 models. I did extend it on a month-by-month basis, and am eagerly awaiting the '05s. But, some pretty decent deals can be had on '04 TLs at the moment. I've heard of Navi models going for as little as $32,500, with non-Navis hovering around $30,000.
If you have the figures for a 36, 42 and 48 month lease (with and without Navi), I would appreciate it. I hope that's not too many numbers to ask for. Also, would you still recommend waiting for the '05 MY to be released, based on the '04 deals I mentioned?
I am looking to lease an '04 Jetta GLI (6 cylyinder 6 speed). Red with leather, monsoon sound, sunroof, and cold weather package. The MSRP is around $26K and then invoice price is approximately $23.4K. What can I expect to pay for a 24 month lease with 15K a year? Thanks!!!
This is the latest lease offered by Audi for the A4 1.8T CVT sedan. I like the numbers, I think, but I've never put any money down on a lease before and that bothers me a bit, but I like the fact that the low monthly can get me into this car. I just wanted to run it by you first...
Thanks again for your help 4 years ago...
Paul
$329 per month 42-month lease -------------------------------------------------- Down payment $1,995 Refundable security deposit $0 Acquisition fee $575 First month's payment $329 -------------------------------------------------- Amount due at lease inception $2,899
I have elected to terminate the lease on my 2001 Ford Windstar, and the dealer has claimed that I have over $1400 in excess wear and tear. I asked for details, and he said that the front and rear bumpers needed replacement, and 2 small dents (actually, more like dings) needed repair. The bumpers have a few scratches on them, that's it.
Does this seem excessive? I took photos of the entire car before returning it, and I can't even see any scratches on the bumper in the pictures. So any damage has to be minor. The dealer claims that "Ford is picky about bumpers" or something to that effect.
I've already contacted the New York State attorney's office and I plan to fight this, but I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences on a Ford lease (or on any manufacturer's lease, for that matter). I can't believe a few minor scratches on the bumper and two dings could set me back $1400!
Oops, I forgot to mention the mileage allowance in my previous post. I would be looking to lease with 10,000 miles per year - 12,000 if they don't offer the lower mileage as an option.
I just received all of that info. Here are the details: 36 mth lease $595 acq fee, no disposition fee residualized MSRP of 33,160 (was 32860 but added 300 for the running boards, residualized option) Selling price of $31,001.16 MF of .00146 15,000 miles per year 0 down, 0 sec deposit Should I push for the lower MF or does this sound like a pretty good deal? I priced out this car at Honda's website with the options I am getting ane it totalled $34381. Will be making my decision by tomorrow. Thanks for the help. Lauralee
Hi Car Man...me again. Can't seem to get it all into one msg. I do have a mthly pymt given of apx. $408 + tax. I think my Q is more on if the price seems reasonable and how much difference the lower MF would make. Thanks again, Lauralee
I only entered my Post once but now it's shown up 3 times already!! Anybody know what's going on? It's messages 13095, 13098, 13102. I have no idea why this is happening. Sorry.
I did indeed forget to mention those numbers.I think the numbers were 5% over invoice minus the $1500 rebate so I think the cap cost was a smidge over $20k.The residual was 48% of MSRP or in the 10K range.I didn't grab the figures we had written down, but I will look it all over when we go to get the car,and such.I mentioned the difference of roughgly $100 in the value of our trade and what the payoff was. They seemed confused as to why I didn't want the money to just go to the cap cost.I told them I wanted as little down payment as I need.I asked about gap insurance, and they told me it was not included, but that I could get it for $500.I don't know if that was a one time fee of $500 for the life of the lease or what but I will ask.Is gap insurance needed?I have it on my RX-8 but then again it is included in all mazda leases.Should we look into getting the gap insurance elsewhere? The F&I also tried selling us a lojack system but I balked at the idea.I don't believe in alarms too much and figure if someone wants the car bad they will get it regardless of the alarm you have. Was that a smart move? Thanks for your help.
Lauralee... Not the expert, but those numbers look good.. It looks like they are rolling the acquisition fee into the lease (which is good), and $2K off MSRP on a Pilot is good, even at the end of the model year...

What kinda of money factors and residual values would be worth the deal? Also i would like to drive the car for a 17000 miles/year lease. Is it possible? (while keeping the payment $400-$450) with around $2000 down?
Hi Car_Man, I did come up with anoter question. I was wondering if the 05 Pilot was available yet? If not, when it might be and if you thought I could get the same deal? Or if you thought it might be better to wait until the 05 was avaiable and then get a better deal on the 04. I like the moonroof that comes on the 05, not sure what other improvements there are. Interested in your opinion on how these things generally work. Thank you!
Hi Chris. I am glad to hear that things worked out well with your mother's lease. Here is the information that you requested for your boss. If he/she was to lease a 2004 Land Rover Range Rover HSE through its captive finance company this month for 3 years with 15,000 miles per, its base lease money factor and residual value should be .00335 and 55%, respectively. As you can see, there really is not much in the way of lease support on this truck right now. Land Rover is, however, providing $4,000 dealer cash PLUS an additional $1,000 on leases ($5,000 total) of this truck. Your boss should use this money to negotiate a more attractive capitalized cost on the vehicle that he/she is interested in. I would be more than happy to calculate a sample lease payment on this truck for you, but in order for me to do so, I need you to provide me with its selling price, or at least its dealer invoice price so that we can approximate its selling price.
Land Rover traditionally has not provided a lot in the way of incentives on the Range Rover, other than some dealer cash at the end of the model year to help dealers unload their leftover models. I I was in the market for one, I would personally try to get a really low price on an '04 at this point rather than waiting for an '05 and taking the chance that there will not be any sort of support available on it. Of course, it is difficult to predict what a manufacturer will do with its future incentives with 100% accuracy through.
Hello Joe. Mazda really did a great job when they came up with the Mazda3. It has been very well received by consumers. So much so that Mazda really has not had to provide any sort of support on it. As a result, you may be able to lease one for less through an independent bank that you would be able to through Mazda's captive finance company. Assuming that you qualify for Mazda's top credit tier, if you were to lease a 2004 Mazda3i through its captive finance company this month for 36 months with 15,000 miles per, its base lease money factor and residual value should be .00270 and 40%, respectively.
I always advise consumers against putting money down when leasing, so if you want to trade in your current car just have the dealer cut you a check for it rather than use the proceeds as a capitalized cost reduction.
Hi Becky. I am sorry to hear about the problem that you are having with your lease. I think that you got into trouble by looking at what were to completely separate transactions as one. When you ended your original lease on your Chevrolet Blazer, which was probably through GMAC, you were way under your allotted mileage, which is good because you did not have to pay an excess mileage penalty. The problem with your logic is that you assumed that this excess mileage would carry over to your next lease. The bank that you leased your Blazer through the second time doesn't care how far under your mileage allowance you were on your previous deal. It was a completely separate transaction. All they care is that you put less than 8,000 miles per year on your truck that had 20,000 miles on it when you signed your lease agreement. The unused mileage from your previous lease does not carry over to your next lease through a different bank.
Thanks markm124. Honda is no longer providing lease money factor support on the 2004 Accord. If you were to lease an '04 Accord EX V6 through American Honda Finance Corp. this month, you would have to use its standard lease money factors. It is providing support on the '04 Accord in the form of $1,000 dealer cash. This money will help you to negotiate a more attractive capitalized cost. Honda is providing lease money factor support on the '05 Accord. It currently has a base lease money factor of .00226 for leases of up to 36 months in length. I would be more than happy to give you an idea of what the exact money factors and residual values should be like for the cars that you are considering, if you let me know how long you want to lease them for and how many miles per year you need to be able to drive them.
Hey cole. Infiniti's lease program on the 2004 FX35 is very similar in September to what it was like in August. The only change to this model's incentives is that it increased the value of its certificates from $250 to $500, up to three of which can be used per deal.
Hello CarMan, I had a quote on a lease for 2004 350Z , 36mo. 12K. with a money factor of .00248, however, the dealer stated in one of his earlier (pre-deal) emails he could *probably* get me in the 4s (%4 interest rate), but the above money factor does not equate to the 4s.
He told me that is as low as the bank will go, is this true, is he being honest or reasonable?
Sorry, should have provided you with that info. first - 2004 and 2005 Accord EX-V6 (w/o nav). I would be interested in 36 months and 12 or 15,000 miles per year. Thanks.
Hi Car_Man, I have a couple of general questions: How does one shop around for leases? How do you find different lease companies to compare their terms?
I'm interested in a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. I've located one online that has most of the major features I'm looking for, however there are a few smaller features that it's lacking: satellite radio prep and rear fascia scuff pad. When you lease a vehicle are you allowed to add after market items or must everything be installed by the dealer? (At dealer prices...) Your advice and experience are greatly appreciated.
Yes, Acura has published a lease program for the 2005 RSX, scanty. If you were to lease one (not the Type-S) through American Honda Finance Corp. this month for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year, its base lease money factor and residual value should be .00260 and 56%, respectively. The base money factor for an otherwise identical 39 month lease would be the same, but the residual value would drop to 53%. I would be more than happy to work up a sample lease payment on this car for you if you let me know what sort of selling price you have been able to negotiate or expect to be able to negotiate.
This will be a full MSRP deal, with no cap cost reduction. $22,150 + $570 destination + $684 spoiler = $23,404. I calculated the 36 month payment to be $380.98 ($286.05 + $94.93). On the 39 month lease, I came up with $375.15 ($282.05 + $93.10).
You're welcome, sting. The terms "dealer invoice" and "factory invoice" essentially mean the same thing. Many manufacturers advertise lease payments that are based upon a 10,000 allowable miles per year. Consumers are usually able to lease any vehicle that they want with either 10,000, 12,000, or 15,000 miles per year, regardless of the mileage allowance that was used any any advertised payments. Switching from 10,000 miles per year to 12,000 miles per year will definitely have an impact upon your car's lease payment. The exact impact upon your payment will depend upon the other aspects of your lease. The payment for a 2 year, lease based upon a selling price of dealer invoice would probably increase by around $12 per month if you were to switch from 10,000 to 12,000 miles per year.
Jaguar is providing dealer cash on both the '04 X-Type 3.0L & 2.5L models, but only the cash on the 2.5L can be used on Jaguar Credit leases. If you purchase through Ford's employee or supplier purchase programs this money should automatically be deducted from its selling price.
Have you had a chance to check on any numbers for the lease on the '04 GLI? Also, I have an existing VW so would the $1000 loyalty rebate be good on a lease?
Hi oidvoid. I have had an opportunity to take a look at Acura's September lease program. As usual, Acura is not providing any sort of support on the TL. If you were to lease one through American Honda Finance Corp., you would have to use its standard lease program. Its base standard lease money factors are .00260 for 36 month and .00220 for 48 month terms. The 15,000 miles per year residual values for an '04 TL without navigation are currently 56% for 36 months and 48% for 48 months. For a TL with navigation, the numbers for otherwise identical leases drop to 54% and 46%.
As I mentioned to you a couple of months ago, it is usually less expensive to lease an unsupported vehicle like the TL at the beginning of the model year rather than at the end of it. Unfortunately, I do not believe that the 2005 Acura TL is available yet. The only '05 Acura model that I have seen lease info for is the RSX. Whether or not it is worth waiting for the 2005 model depends upon how badly you want a new vehicle now and how much of a difference there is in the price that you are able to negotiate on a 2004 model now and the price that you would have to pay for a 2005 model when it arrives. If you can get a 2004 TL for significantly less than an '05 would be then the difference in residual values is not as big a deal.
Hello air00max. Let's work up a sample lease payment on this car for you and see what we come up with. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 1.8T with a full MSRP of $26,000 and a selling price of $23,900 ($23,400 dealer invoice + $500) through VW Credit this month for 2 years with 15,000 miles per, its zero down, pre-tax monthly payment should be a whopping $489. This is one deal that I personally would pass on.
Hey gperr. As usual, Acura is not providing any sort of support, cash or lease, on the TL. If you were to lease one through American Honda Finance Corp., you would have to use its standard lease program. Its base standard lease money factor is .00260 for 36 month leases. The 36 month, 15,000 miles per year residual value for a 2004 TL with navigation should be 54%.

I am interested in the 2004 Acura MDX with the touring package, no Navigation or entertainment package. I want to lease for 36 months with 12K per year.
You were a big help when I was leasing a car for my mom, hope you can help now too. Looking for info for my boss. Would like to know the money factor and residual on an '04 Range Rover. A monthly payment too??
36 months, 15K/year
MSRP= $77,950 with the luxe interior package
Car can be leased in MD area or in NJ if that matters. I suggested assuming a lease on an 02 and if he likes it, getting an 05 next year. Do you think that is a better idea, and what kind of incentives if any do you think would be available in Feb-Mar of next year?
Thanks for your help

I'm thinking of leasing a Mazda 3i with ABS & air bags (MSRP $18150, Invoice $16748). Are there any incentives for this car for September? What are MF and residuals for a 30 month and 36 month lease? I'm thinking of trading in my '97 Volvo 960 (fair/good condition) to reduce the capital cost (we want better fuel economy and lower maint costs). Do you think this is a good idea?
Thanks

If you have the figures for a 36, 42 and 48 month lease (with and without Navi), I would appreciate it. I hope that's not too many numbers to ask for. Also, would you still recommend waiting for the '05 MY to be released, based on the '04 deals I mentioned?

Can you please post the Sept Res and MF for '04 TL auto w/Nav for 36 months 15K miles. Also, is there an lease support going on right now (cash).

Thanks for your help,
Mike in western New York.
Thanks,

I just received all of that info. Here are the details:
36 mth lease
$595 acq fee, no disposition fee
residualized MSRP of 33,160 (was 32860 but added 300 for the running boards, residualized option)
Selling price of $31,001.16
MF of .00146
15,000 miles per year
0 down, 0 sec deposit
Should I push for the lower MF or does this sound like a pretty good deal? I priced out this car at Honda's website with the options I am getting ane it totalled $34381. Will be making my decision by tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for your help.

i am loooking for a BMW lease and could really use your help. I am trying to decide between the following cars.
04 325i - Premium Pkg, Auto Trans, Moon roof, Premium sound etc $35,000 MSRP(approx)
05 325i - Moon roof, fog lights $31,000 MSRP (approx)
04 325 Ci - Sport Pkg, leather, premium sound, moon roof etc $37,000 MSRP (approx)
04 X3 - Premium Pkg, Premium sound, Steptronic, heated seats etc $35,000 MSRP (approx)
What kinda of money factors and residual values would be worth the deal? Also i would like to drive the car for a 17000 miles/year lease. Is it possible? (while keeping the payment $400-$450) with around $2000 down?
Thanks in advance
Hey CJS2002..
looks like you and i are looking for the same car. Let me know how you do. Good luck with the negotiations
I did come up with anoter question. Thank you!

I always advise consumers against putting money down when leasing, so if you want to trade in your current car just have the dealer cut you a check for it rather than use the proceeds as a capitalized cost reduction.

'Wanted to check back with you regarding the new residuals and money factors Honda is offering on the '04 Ody's, if any.
Thanks!

I had a quote on a lease for 2004 350Z , 36mo. 12K. with a money factor of .00248, however, the dealer stated in one of his earlier (pre-deal) emails he could *probably* get me in the 4s (%4 interest rate), but the above money factor does not equate to the 4s.
He told me that is as low as the bank will go, is this true, is he being honest or reasonable?
Thanks.
I have a couple of general questions:
How does one shop around for leases? How do you find different lease companies to compare their terms?
I'm interested in a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. I've located one online that has most of the major features I'm looking for, however there are a few smaller features that it's lacking: satellite radio prep and rear fascia scuff pad. When you lease a vehicle are you allowed to add after market items or must everything be installed by the dealer? (At dealer prices...)
Your advice and experience are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks!
