I see the 2017 MKCs are starting to arrive at dealers, do you have the residual and maybe the MF for 36/10k and 36/12k for a 2017 MKC Reserve 2.3L AWD?

2016 residual ranges from 53% to 57%, depending on trim and FWD/AWD.

2017 residual is 56%-60%

Cannot assume that a lack of MF info implies that the standard MF of about 5-6% is in play. Just means we don't have the information.

Got a deal offer for a 2017 MKC Select AWD trying to actually do this from memory since I stupidly left the sheet on my desk at work

10,500 Miles

MSRP $43,225

Sales Price $40,400 (Price was a couple hundred under the invoice price)

MF.... .00125 (not sure how I feel about this considering this is much higher than Ford offers)

Residual 60% $25,935

Lease cash: $250

Doc Fee $150

DMV fee $780 (new regional transit tax is expensive)

Cash down $1500

Payment $497 per month with 9.5% tax included

Am wondering if this is a good deal. It was honestly like pulling teeth to get to. The initial offers they made were over $625/Month.... I knew that was not a good deal. I pushed really hard on the MF since I have perfect credit and the finance manager swore that was the most attractive terms he could offer.

Anyone have any input. I did pretty much everything but sign the dotted line as they were wearing me down. I have a lease they are ending early for me (Ford Early Bird). And they needed to postpone until Monday since I originally leased the vehicle elsewhere.

Price below invoice feels like a good deal, but the MF I know is nothing great. If it were as low as some of the Ford products advertised (.0001). We'd cut another 80 bucks a month off the payment, they swore up and down that was the best they could do without Lincoln making them adjust the residual.

We don't have the MF information for Lincoln, so I can't tell you if it's marked up or not.

You may check with other dealers and see if you get a consistent answer.

Using all the numbers you've provided, I get $531/mo with tax included. I'd confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer. The difference between your calculated payment and mine is about $1100 on the cap cost.

BTW, the dealer is not allowed to modify the residual - it is set by the bank.

Therefore, I'd also confirm that this is a Ford Credit sourced lease.

Have you considered an Escape? We've got those numbers, and I can't imagine the feature difference is all that large between it and the MKC.

So we compared the escape and MKC. Escape had a 53% residual on the same terms but better rebates and a much better MF. (Roughly. 0001) however there was a significant difference in ride quality and general quality of the interior. It was also roughly 39,000 for the loaded up Escape... only a few thousand less.

No doubt the lease on the Ford would be a little less, it's just not as nice of a car. We really preferred the Lincoln. also the 7% difference in residual pretty much negates the Escape rebate. It's just that attractive money factor that's making me still keep it in the back of my mind.

Also, i know that the residual should be static... but I'm telling you he changed the residual by 1% and the money factor twice throughout the negotiations. Said that Lincoln will allow them manipulate terms to a certain extent. I've actually ran across this one other time... I've leased a total of 9 vehicles over the years. Not sure if this is some BS dealer game or a real thing.

The deal looks good minus the money factor, which doesn't feel exorbitant, but I'm not sure its the best out there. I don't like that it's not standard.

Fair enough on the comparison between the two.

I've never seen a residual that varies. The only metrics that determine the residual are the miles per year and the lease term. Perhaps the dealer was manipulating those to get a better payment.

FWIW, the MF on the BMW X3 is .00140, so .00125 is not awful.

So I called around to a couple of dealers today to see if they could do better. One tried to play games with pricing a model either much higher or lower MSRP than the one we chose. The deals were not as good as what we already were offered at the first dealer. And they seemed very disingenuous.

The one dealership was significantly worse saying they add 1,000 to sticker as a local markup and typically move the vehicles without much difficulty. Not sure if I buy that, but Seattle
is pretty much the next Bay area anymore. Jobs, property and just about everything else has increased at a crazy rate over the past few years.

Looks like the deal we got is about as good as we will find in Seattle.
