2018 CRV Touring. Purchased for my wife - MSRP was 35,005 offered 32,500 at Lehigh Valley Honda. Offer accepted. Also purchased 8 year 120 K Hondacare extended warranty ( too much electronics). Traded 03 Pilot with 171K for 1,500 which was probably 500 less than I anticipated. Great car - son (17+) wanted the LED headlights etc in the touring. I was pretty satisfied with the EX-L. If it was up to me alone I would have bought the EX-L and saved the 2000 dollars.

2018 Honda CR-V 2WD LX. Emailed Honda internet sales person towards end of Dec 2017 asking if they were interested in selling a new 2018 CR-V LX for $23K plus TTL. Kelly Blue Book showed that as the low end range of fair market value for a new one. Agreed on that price over email then went in and finished the deal. Didn’t have to pay for delivery fees, protection packages they had put on the vehicle, etc. Hoping I got a good deal on it. Had to drive an hour to this dealer but seemed worth it. Near Austin Texas.

I'm looking to buy an EX-L 2WD in SoCal, no hurry, could be anytime between now and around June. I have located an exact match (i.e. exterior/interior color) for a 2017 at a dealer about 70 miles away. I'm sure there are more matches within 100 miles as well. I'm willing to buy a 2017 now if it's essentially the same car as a 2018, and if I get a significant discount vs the 2018. Otherwise, I might as well wait and get a 2018 at my leisure closer to home. So my questions:
    1) 2017 vs 2018 CRV EX-L 2WD: Are there any actual differences?
    2) What is a good price for a 2017 and for a 2018 in SoCal now? On the 2017 forum, someone bought this exact car for $26,550 + reasonable doc fees + tax in Oct 2017. KBB says low-end price in SoCal is $27,630. Many posters on the 2017 forum stated target discount of 9-12% off MSRP, which is about $30,425 incl dest (this was late in the model year)--therefore 10% off MSRP is about $27,400, in line with low KBB number.

2018 CRV EX-L AWD in Central Ohio. Bought a few weeks ago. The MSRP (including destination) is $31,825, so got 10% off. Emailed around 50 dealers in a 3 hour and 15 minute range. Glad I did because was able to get closer dealers down using a quote from a dealer at the outer rim of my search.

    Price of Vehicle: $28,618.53
    Doc Fee: $250
    7.25% Tax: $2,092.97
    Title Fee: $15
    Registration Fee: $18.50
    ======================
    Out The Door: $30,995

By the way, we love it, couldn’t be happier. Great gas mileage, comfy (and warm) leather seats, amazing safety features, good phone integration, smooth and quiet ride...there’s a reason it has won so many awards between the 2017 & 2018 models. Glad we waited on the 2018 because we really wanted black leather, but on the 2017 you could only get it with a black or white exterior. But we were able to get the gray exterior color we loved (modern steel) with the black interior on the 2018.

You are to be commended on your deal. I'm in Ohio also and may be looking at same vehicle in summer. I'm not crazy about the color choices-- any of them-- the gunmetal steel and modern steel seem to be too similar. The green one doesn't seem to be too green. But if I get one I'll decide more on the interior color anyway.

Reposting: 2018 CR-V EXL AWD - Offer Price

Hello, Can somone suggest if this is a good deal for 2018 CR-V EXL AWD in Minneapolis, MN.

MSRP: 31,825. Offer $29.3K not including taxes, fees registration. Tax is 6.25% and fees & registration ~$500 = $2200 to $2400. So OTD price with be approx: $31,500. Is this a good deal or if anyone else able to get lower than this in the Midwest? Another, If I'm looking to move fast can this justify a better deal?

    Thanks.

The sell price you got was around high $24k? that was lower than the invoice price. excellent. Here is Sacramento, so far a couple dealers were offering $25,995 and +10% TTL I would be looking at $28595 :disappointed:

how did you get such a get price? any negotiation advice?

    Thanks

I saw 12% off MSRP as great prices for 2017 models, right now the quotes I'm getting is ~10% off MSRP. CRV continues to be Honda's best seller - try for the largest volume Honda dealer around you (ones who have won PResident's Awards are a good bet given they meet a volume criteria). I'm seeing just under $31k before TTL for 2018 Touring FWD's at least for me in Dallas, Texas.

I am getting a quote of
    LIST PRICE: $29,325
    SALE PRICE:$26,516

on 2018 AWD CRV EX in chicago

Is that even possible? I see the dealer invoice price according to my calculation around 27035. This includes about 570 in dealer holdback.

    Hi all,

I am in northern NJ and was offered the following deal on a 2018 Honda CRV AWD EX-L

    MSRP: $31,825
    Cost: $27,935
Out the Door Price: $31,661 (including taxes and fees)

This seems like a good deal to me but I don't have much to compare it to yet. Any idea?

That’s a good price, but you should email more dealers and you might get even better. If you want to go to that dealer, you can send any better quotes to them and maybe they will come down some. Here is what I paid after emailing around 50 dealers in Ohio:

    Price of Vehicle: $28,618.53
    Doc Fee: $250
    7.25% Tax: $2,092.97
    Title Fee: $15

Hello! First time new car buyer here. How do you guys get internet quotes? Every time I ask for one I get calls, emails and even texts trying to get me in the showroom to get the "best price". I've already done the test drive and the hours long negotiation once (was very turned off by the super aggressive finance guy). I'm in Northern Jersey and have my heart set on a white awd exl with black leather... Thanks for any advice.

This is the email I sent to around 50 dealers. Most of them game me quotes through email. Some tried to get me to come in to get the best price. For them, you just have to tell them you are doing a couple of rounds of emails for a bunch of dealers and don't want to come in until you have agreed on a final Out the Door price. Make sure when you are getting quotes they include EVERYTHING (a true out the door price).

Hello, I am in the market for a 2018 Honda CRV EX-L AWD and I am messaging all of the dealers within driving distance to get the best price. Please send me a quote and give me out the door prices, all fees, taxes, etc. included for City, State (Zip _____) – County

I am ready to buy next week. I will buy from a dealer offering the current Holiday APR Special of 1.99%, unless there is a better price to close the gap on the money saved on the lower interest. I also must take delivery by the 19th of this month at the latest, but plan on next week sometime.

    Thanks for your time, Nathan

Man. I don’t know how you guys do it. Either the market is completely different in the Seattle area or I am doing something wrong.  I’ve emailed with at least 8 dealers and they will not budge below $30,325 for the selling price on a 2018 EX-L AWD (most will only do $30,825 even). We also have 10% sales tax here and registration fees are astronomical.  So not only are the dealers out here making us pay more at the selling price point but we also pay more in taxes and fees. I’m looking at like $36,0000 out the door price.  Depressing.

Hey folks - Now that we’re in early 18, what % discount off MSRP do you think I could secure on a 2017 touring or EX-L (AWD)? I’m looking at new as well as low mileage used so would appreciate insights. There’s a touring in particular with 9k miles near me (in DC) that I would love to get down from its $30.7k list...

That has a MSRP of $30,425 (including destination). What is your tax percentage? We usually figure a good price by the vehicle price before taxes. Around 10% on a 2018 is good
  • grognardgrognard Member Posts: 8
    our tax is 4.15
  • nathan1234nathan1234 Member Posts: 31
10% off MSRP would be $27,382. Plus 7% tax = $29,299 So that price looks very good
  • grognardgrognard Member Posts: 8
plus, don't you have to figure on ~900 for destination and ~700 for documentation?
  • grognardgrognard Member Posts: 8
    edited January 2018
975 destination and 649 docs to be exact. I am debating between the CR-V EXL FWD and a Mazda CX5 Grand Touring at $29,300 OTD.
  • lovethelancerlovethelancer Member Posts: 70
Seriously? Why is this car so expensive in the Seattle area? Got one (EX-L AWD) for $30,554 before tax and tags. 4% off MSRP. They weren’t going lower. $34351 out the door.   10% sales tax, $500 license/registration fee.

You’re OTD price is good, but with only 4.15% tax it sounds like it could be better. Have you emailed all the dealers within a couple hours?

I got quote from Northern California Dealer - 30000( Sell Price) + Taxes+Doc fee = 32700, he is including accessories wheel Locks and Splash guards included in price. What do you guys think of Quote.? I am planning to finance through Honda Finance and dealer mentioned based on my credit score APR 5% and my credit score between (735-740), Is APR too high.? What are my options, go for local credit unions.? Please let me know.

Decent sales price compared to what Seattle is giving me (assuming this is an EXL AWD)? But nowhere near the deal other people say they are getting. APR seems slightly high to me. I’d push for 3.99

I think after deducting doc fee it comes to $27,125 before tax including delivery charge. I assume you were asking about the CR-V and not the Mazda I mentioned.

Sorry missed mentioning above quote is for 2018 Honda CRV EXL AWD. Salesrep mentioned he will check with their finance team who can get a lower APR through local credit unions or he asked me check myself any lower APR credit unions.
I am thinking of going with Dealer finance team check local credit union for better APR on my behalf, What would be the catch here if in future i plan to refinance to different bank or credit union will they charge me any fees.? Can you please suggest?

HONDA CRV-EX L with Leather Seats pricing, Sales Price

    $29,900 + 7% NJ Sales Tax + $498 doc Fee + $161.50(DMV Fee) + $7.50 (Tire Tax)= $32,660 (OTD) price.

    Is it a good deal?
