hi everyone, this is the first time I do a lease so excuse the newb questions. I have been learning about MF and residules but most dealers aren't giving me these values.

I'm looking for an AWD V6 SE with tech and with captain chairs. The best 36 months 12k/year lease I'm getting is about 390+tax and 1500 drive off. This is in Northern California. Is that a good deal? Thanks.

Dealers don't want you to know the MF and residual, because that way you can figure the payment and not give them any room to fudge the numbers.

Wold need to know the MSRP and the selling price to help you with a payment.

Sales tax on a lease in WA is assessed monthly, so you can ignore the tax amount in your quote.

And, we don't recommend big down payments on a lease - the true cost gets muddied up, and that up front cash would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

You can get a nice BMW for that payment, BTW.

So I finally found one dealer in San Jose quoting me for $448 / month for above with $1770 drive off that included all the regular numbers , only they had $196 dealer fees. Apparently they had cars with colors which I was not too excited about. I found another dealer where they had a color & model I wanted,. I called the internet lease specialist told him I have this quote and I'm going to meet this other dealer, do you think you can match the number for the car that I wanted (gave him VIN # from their online inventory page). He called me back and matched the number. I went over there, negotiated further & finally got dealership fee waived & got $439/month deal . I drove off the car. Lessor learned. Do a lot of research , understand all the numbers, Call the Bull S**t out if they are overcharging you , with the point that you will lease if they waive specific numbers & they will do it.

Once again thanks to @Michaell & @kyfdx for all your immense knowledge & help.

I will be back here after 3 year may be for another car, unless I'm going to lease another vehicle.

Drive off should only include the first payment and registration costs.

Same with trade equity - have the dealer cut you a check for the equity in your trade. Do not use it to buy down the lease payment.

Hey all, let me start off by saying I am very confused how leases work. With that being said, I need some help. We were offered a lease deal from Gunther VW Coconut Creek FL of $445 a month for Atlas SE with 8-$900 down. The sale MSRP is. $33,995 originally $37,735. The deal was for 12/36 terms. We are looking into more of a 48/10 term to try and save money. Right now we have a Ford Escape paying $388 month but with our growing family it is time to upgrade. My question is, do we have any wiggle room with this lease? Any input would be very much appreciated! Thank you all.

With acquisition fee and tax, that payment looks about right.

.00090 MF and 48% residual for 48/10.
That would drop the payment by $23/mo., more or less

Thanks all for posting all your numbers, it was very helpful in negotiations. I ended up getting quotes from all the NorCal dealers. In the end, for the V6 FWD SE w/ Tech and captain's chairs, I paid $1600 drive-off (includes 1st month) and monthly payments of $390. The MF was 0.004 with a 54% residual. This is for a 36 month lease with 12k/year.
