So apparently a different set of RVs and MFs other than the ones provided here are used when the discounted agreed on to price passes a certain discount threshold. Is this true? I've leased a few cars now and this is the first time I've seen this approach. For my ither leases, it's always just been one set of RVs and MFs no matter how much the discount of the negotiated price.

Probably quoted you a purchase price, which has different incentives than a lease.

Actually, it was the opposite. The mark down was like around $23.5K, but then they said they could go down to $21.5k for lease only.

Using the above MF and RV of .00015 and 55%, A dealer quoted me $4K off MSRP for a 7.5k/36 lease. He was willing take $7k off for purchase only. Has anyone been able to secure $7k off or better for a lease w .00015/55% ?

Quick update to my adventures in trying to find a lease deal on an Alltrack. So another dealer told me that the 0.00015 MF is VW's discounted MF. He also told me, which corrobrates with what I was told by the other dealer, that this discounted MF is applied for discounts of $3k or less. For discounts of more than $3k, VW's standard rate of 0.00255 applies.

This tiered structure seems to make it difficult to score a good lease deal with VW.

We have a new Alltrack and I'd like to warn everyone - don't take this car on a dirt road. We went camping last fall, and the car had the catalytic converter forward facing mounting bars pop out of rubber grommets. We didn't know it at the time - but 6 months later we had a noise and the VW dealer wants $4400 to replace the pipe and driveshaft. No dents on the convertor, just a scrape mark. It's marketed as an vehicle to take camping and suitable for dirt roads - but it's not. The design that allows a minor contact with dirt on the bottom of the car (again, no dents) to unseat the convertor, allowing it to rub on the driveshaft causing huge damage. We escalated with VW Customer Care and they refused to do anything. We will never take it on a dirt road again, and will never buy a Volkswagen again. Terrible design, misleading marketing, and unwilling to stand behind their product. Shame on VW. Maybe their lying diesel scandal bankrupt them and there's no money left, nothing to do but try and squeeze their customers for what should be warranty repairs.
