    After striking out on the Kona I’ve turned my attention to the Subaru Crosstrek. Got a pretty good estimate on a lease for zip 11360 on a Premium w/ Eyesight/fog lights for $305 month 36/10K and $2020 taxes/fees up front, MSRP $26265. However they told me it’d have to be ordered and it’d take a month

    My question is, if a car has to be ordered is there an extra fee for this? And since a car is being ordered is it then non-negotiable? This question applies to Subaru but Hyundai has told me this as well that if I order it’s an extra fee and they can’t negotiate vs a car on the lot.

    You should be able to negotiate on an ordered vehicle, but inventory on the lot is generally going to sell for a lower price.

    There should not be an extra charge, anywhere, for a special order.

    Got a quote on a Crosstrek Premiumw/ Fog lights and Eyesight/Blind spot/Rear cross traffic today as well. Dont have the MSRP or any other breakdown but they said it’d be $305 a month for 36/10K with $2020 up front for taxes titles and fees. The only problem is it’d have to be ordered and it’ll arrive on April 19 😞. Seems like a good deal tho despite the wait?

    You found us, and are asking the right questions. The more knowledge you have, and the more information you collect from the dealer, the better equipped you are to make a deal you'll be happy with.

    My loaded 2019 Limited is $314 per month with $0 cap reduction for 3/36. Pre sales tax. Leased in December. The hybrid would be $550 per month. 

    I need an additional vehicle and want a hybrid or EV.

    Dealers can markup the money factor by .00050.

    But, I don't see the acquisition fee or the adjusted CAP cost in your calculation.
    Add $595 to the selling price, and see what you come up with.

    Dealers can markup the money factor by .00050.

    But, I don't see the acquisition fee or the adjusted CAP cost in your calculation.
    Add $595 to the selling price, and see what you come up with.

    That's it. I did not see the acquisition fee on the paper work. I got about $403. Thanks for clarifying that.

    Drive off: $750, includes 1st month + all fees. Did not specify which fees (bank/dmv/dealer processing). Will have to verify.

    They quoted me $275 per month with tax.

    $250 CA DMV
    $85 dealer doc fee
    $275 first payment
    That's $610 upfront...

    Overall, that's pretty close. Don't see anything wrong with that deal.
