I forget, who is the official keeper of the number of punches each year? It does seem that we are falling behind. But, of course, it is still early!

I'm having some thoughts about getting a used car, but I'm severely hampered by no place to park the thing! And I really like both of my present vehicles, and don't want to get rid of either one.

    You're getting a Saab? :)
Funny! I did lease a 2000 Saab 9-3 from 1999 - 2002. It was a base model, Automatic. I drooled over the VIGGEN like @28firefighter has when it came out.

My guess is also going to be a loaner lease on an X2. Seems to fit the bill. I don't think Bradd is brave enough to go Alfa, though the TLX A Spec SH AWD could be an option. I am seeing some tasty lease offers on that now.

An X2 28i would be a driving experience downgrade from a Q40. Maybe a 330xi? But Michaell said no lease? Could buy a used one for not that much dough.

hmmm... so buying a used model of something someone here has. And likely AWD. I can't make sense of anything but a 330xi. Countryman S??

I can't believe anyone would get a Stelvio between mine and Q's feedback on it.

My buddy's wife has one and it experienced a spontaneous adaptive cruise control acceleration event. Out of nowhere, after slowing down for traffic, it accelerated to 90+.

Now this I do not understand. It strikes me as total BS, just like those runaway Toyota stories. Some idiot driving down the freeway, calling 911 on his cell phone, saying he couldn't get his Toyota to slow down.

Why don't you put the gear shift in neutral???? Turn off the ignition ?????

Now sudden acceleration, causing an immediate accident, all happening in a split second with no (or very little) time to react. Okay, maybe. But not "accelerated to 90+".

He disabled the cruise - he was watching it the entire time, just to see what would happen and how far the car would take it. ~90 is where he cut it off, but it was continuing. He did say it happened within a couple of seconds though, which makes sense since he had the cruise set to 70 and in the Stelvio, 70-90 is only a matter of a few seconds.

If you don't want to call it "spontaneous" you could say the Stelvio exceeded the cruise control limits without user input. The bottom line is, the car did something outside of what it was told to do.

    Random Ramblings:

Broke a tooth flossing last night; don't get old. My dentist put a temporary crown on it today noon-time. To console myself, went car shopping. Local CarMax had an interesting Porsche Macan, blue with tan interior. I really liked it. As I wandered the lot, sales dude took a rather lost looking woman (I was watching from the Macan as he tried to take her to cars she might be interested in, when he turned right, she went left...) for a test ride. Poof, MY Macan is no longer listed for sale on the site. Must've been a quick negotiation.

Went to my Jag dealer, they have a high mileage 2016 F-Type S just in. Was in satellite lot, so instead of having them bring it over (I was told not yet detailed, prepped for sale), I sat in the '18 version. I fit rather nicely, son of my XK? But, like HenryN, as a second car, I ain't got no place to park it.

I"m shopping as the boy may need a car for a summer internship, debating buying me something shiny, letting him use the XF over the summer. A truly bad plan, but hey, it wasn't over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor...

What to do, what to do.

    Speedy recover, MJFloyd

Good luck, Bradd. I hope you find a car that rides better than the Sox have been playing! Going to Fenway with the boy tomorrow, throw in lunch and there goes new car money.

New York car guy, suspense is killing me, I can’t wait to hear what it’s going to be. Indoors with the Stelvio‘s man these computers these days they have minds of their own sometimes. Ha ha ha

Laura Stana nice they went car shopping today. Sorry to hear about the issue with the tooth, I will try not to feel old ha ha I wish we all had control over that. Think tomorrow finally going to thoroughly washed up Thunderbird and start playing pouring it to start early in the morning till I get everyone to move their cars out of the way so I have the space was the horse is it near where I have the car parked unfortunately. Has three moved to the front of the house. And of course only to find someone for assistance with that. My cousin might come over tomorrow, but he’s iffy he says one day yes   And then I won’t hear from him till Saturday night sad but people are the way they are so we’ll see what develops tomorrow, then Sunday Mother’s Day. I think we’re just gonna stay in and order a pizza or something that’s what she wants ha ha Ha hey turd day. What’s everyone else up to for the weekend?

Laura summer, decisions decisions that would be a nice car for your son to drive for the summer and get yourself a shiny new toy, and see what you’ll do with the extra after he’s done with it in the summer or just have two cars if you’re able to.
