I guess that wouldn't be a Forester XT Premium with a manual tranny, would it? ;-)
I'll second paisan re Ad-Aware. Nice piece of shareware.

Actually my 4 year old can draw better than me. ;-)

Steve, Host
Juice- Hope your road trip was fun.
Brenda- Glad to hear you are felling better.
Re:Hummer- I just got back last night from Vegas. One of the "exotic" car rentals they push on the strip is for a Hummer, both the original and the H2. I'd rather rent the Viper R/T 10 instead:-) You do see a lot of Hummers cruising there, though not too many Subaru's.
Mark
Serge -- Congrats! I'm glad to hear the good news.
juice -- Now you've got me thinking what in the world that might be.
Anyway, in Colorado, Hertz decided to stick me with a Ford Explorer. Boy did it leave me missing my Forester. The engine seemed underpowered for it's hulking mass and road feel was just so uncommunicative. I forgot that I wasn't in my Forester anymore and wagged the tail a few times on some turns.
What I did like about it, however were some of the convenience features. The cruise control buttons integrated into the steering wheel, side mirror light that turns on when you open the door illuminating the dark ground and a pretty decent sounding stock stereo.
Switching subjects back to the Forester, have any of you had a very bad start after not having driven your Subie in a few days? When I got home, I had to pick up my daughter from day care and hopped in the Forester. When I tried to start the engine, I was assaulted by a slew of screeching, knocking, chugging and whining noises -- nothing like I've ever heard before. In a panic, I shut off the engine, reprimed the fuel pump and tried to start again -- but the same noise persisted. It lasted for about 20 seconds until it faded away to the usual noise of the engine starting up.
I got out of the Forester with the engine running and noticed that my garage was filled with a very acrid odor -- far from the typical start-up smell. A quick examination under the hood -- all fluids are full and belts in place. No problems this morning.
Any idea what the heck was happening?
Ken
Hasn't happened to me yet.
Eric
Have a happy TG everyone.

Cheers Pat.

Did you see my post to you? I was in your employers 300mm FAB across the street from Fry's on 11/3. Nice place...
Steve
Greg
I'm really excited to hear that Gotcha day has been moved in for you guys. Did you manage to get the flights all booked?
I'm wishing the best for a most memorable trip!
Ken
Will check back in a few days.

And yes, we are "pumped", and scared to death, both at the same time.
Ed - Good luck!!!
Steve
WHOA Ed! I can't believe it, you upstaged us! :-)
I hope Dave is born healthy, LOL.

good luck ALL!!!
Exciting day...looking forward to the chat.

See you all in a few hours! Juice - I'm hoping your going to be on time, because I think folks will want to chat about your big reveal!
Patti
I have a rehearsal tonite, so no chat or news.
Wouldn't it be funny if I psyched you all out and it *was* Ed's wife in labor that was the news?
Very exciting week! Good news comes in 3s.

Cheers Pat.
We will be there January 6-8, before it even opens to the public (on the 10th). This is a huge privilege. I am stoked.
The Legacy GT will debut there and we can see it and take pictures. Press days start on the 4th, so I don't think there will be any embargos or restrictions. We will of course give the full report. OCD level reporting. You can count on it.
Subaru is picking up the tab, airfare and hotel. Don't tell them but I would have WALKED to Detroit to see the Legacy, and slept standing upright! LOL
We are flattered, happy, proud of the Crew too because they saw our site as important enough to invite us.
This is such great news, for all of us. There will be round table discussion, they will hear our feedback. They invited people that run sites, I know that SubieGal was invited as well. So I guess we'll meet her, too.
-juice
Buy some extra memory sticks for your cameras! ;-)
-Brian
We owe this all to Patti for pulling this off for us. The biggest thanks goes to everyone here who makes this such a great place to hang out. If it weren't for the "Crew," we would not have gotten invited.
Bob
Yeah, I might need more. LOL
I think I'll actually bring a laptop with me and upload them at night to that.
Thanks to those that could make it to the chat - we had 39 unique users! Blew the old record of 32 out of the water.
You can bet we'll share that with Subaru, so they know how positive the response was to this whole idea. :-)
-juice
Activity, membership, and the general good mood around here helped us talk them into doubling our quota. :-)
-juice
Juice, definitely bring the laptop, we need you to post all the news here in a timely fashion!
Craig
Have a great time with the baby or the car. And all of you ... travel safe!
Serge and Susan, your outcome was an answered prayer.
Jim
but WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Way to go you guys!I can't wait for a full report, especially since I have decided to wait a little while on the WRX. I just owe too much on the Leg for it to make financial sense. I need to pay some more off first so I at least break even rather than take a loss.
And now I'll know exactly where the new Leg will stand price wise and release time-wise.
Whew! A new baby for Ed, a "gotcha" baby for fibber/Steve, Susan is on the mend, and juice and Bob will be the stars in Detroit. The Subaru Crew angels are working overtime!
Bob and Juice - Sounds great! I'm jealous. :-)
-Dennis
Steve
Ed, good luck to you and your wife. If all goes as expected, you're about to start on life's biggest adventure - parenthood!
Steve and family, wow, you must be so excited. Hope everything goes well overseas.
Serge and Susan, great to hear things are going well. Keep up the positive thoughts.
Lots of warm and fuzzy in here today, what a Crew! Everyone have a great weekend.
Regards, Owen
You know me, I never get enough. I'll probably go to the DC Auto Show in December as well!
-juice
Cheers Pat.
Of course that is yet to be determined. My plan is to represent the wants and needs of the Crew, not just my own.
It's early, but I'm thinking we should poll our members, maybe create a "Top 10" list of wishes we can share with them. Or maybe several sub lists. We'll discuss this, but start brainstorming folks.
