just think. If you have to wait until 2005, the XT will probably have more standard goodies. Maybe more power too.

The way you feel about the XT is how I am starting to feel about the new Legacy GT. Not sure how long I can hold out (or how to convince the dw). MY OB only has 53K. Hmmmmm, maybe get rid of the minivan.

have a better travel day than I did yesterday. Let's just say that T-Storms in Atlanta make for thousands of unhappy Delta passengers.

Now go get us pricing, dammit!!! :):)

know where I can get a nice screensaver of the new Legacy GT?

Click [Legacy > Downloads] and there's a bunch of stuff. They even have versions for Mac and the entire website works beautifully in the OS X Safari browser. Someone must have gotten wind of the higher than usual correlation of Macs and Subarus.

    Mike-

Do we have a date yet to start the planning? Or is this to be just a general start - who is coming, what route to be taken?

I'm in, provided the OB is doing okay at that point:-) Actually, I asked a question in the Legacy/OB problem area concerning it.

Waiting on a date from Patti. Once I have the weekend set, I'll start the wheels turning for all the arrangements (and I'll try to make dinner reservations this time).

The OB will be up to snuff I'm sure!

Maybe all this is a sign to go for the GT? If I can only convince the wife.

Anyone knows what will be the Forester colors in MY2005? And when is Forester MY2005 coming to the dealerships? April-May?
  • p0926p0926 Member Posts: 4,423
Kate- Yep, April/May is usually the release date for the next MY Forester. I doubt that colors will change/increase though. I think the only substantive change will be adding the PP option for the XT MT. I really doubt that it'll get more HP. I mean come on, the XT is already faster than 99%(+) of the vehicles on the road today. However, they may revise the official HP & torque figures to reflect the true output.

    -Frank P.

P.S. Did I mention that the XT is AWESOME? This vehicle is hands down the best one I've owned and by far the most fun!

For the 03 and 04 model years, new Forester pricing has been getting announced in May, which usually means the cars hit the streets in June or so. I'm guessing we'll see the same for 05.

Must have been the travel day from you-know-where for everyone!

Thanks to all for the kind words regarding my uncle's passing. It appears that it was a sudden, profound stroke, and he didn't feel a thing. When it's my time, that's how I want to go.

Traveling alone sucks! Spent all of New Year's day in planes, airports & rental cars: Left Spokane at 7AM --> Seattle --> Memphis --> Greenville/Spartanburg --> Clayton, GA, finally arriving at 11pm. Spent time paying homage to Uncle Cam & catching up with family from all 4 corners of the US, then home about midnight last night, after delays, re-ticketing, gate changes, the whole she-bang. Ugh. I actually was in Detroit (well, the airport, anyway) for a couple hours last night - Juice & Bob, I waved, I promise!

Came home to a foot of snow covering a sheet of ice on the car, and it snows as we speak, and the forecast is for another 6-10 inches by tomorrow! The silver lining in the cloud, huh?!

If you all want some real weather entertainment, go look at www.nwcn.com about the current storm in Portland & Seattle.

Thanks again to all for the kind words.
    Cheers!

Paul- You were in my neck of the woods and didn't even say hi? I'm hurt! :-) If you'd been smart you could have flown into Atlanta and gotten a ride to Clayton and back in my XT!

    -Frank P.
  • hammersleyhammersley Member Posts: 684
Frank: Apologies... I was operating under the double duress of short notice travel planning and not knowing that neck of the woods very well. GSP looked closer than ATL, and as it turned out, it made for an actually reasonable drive up to Clayton. I'll take a rain check on the XT ride! :)

The down side of that part of the trip was the rental car being a 2002 Kia Rio... ugh! BAsic transport, but that's about it.

I knew my uncle was a smart guy... he had a '02 OBS LTD!

    Cheers!

Colors? Dunno, but I'd like to see Rally Blue and a light metallic blue. Give the XT MT the PP, maybe VTD or Sportshift or both, and call it good.

GT is getting it, so maybe, who knows?

Even the Legacy 2.5i gets Sportshift (4 speed).

into a Legacy L-SE last month, BTW. A great deal too. And I think I have Mom and Dad ready to trade their 1998 Accord on a 2005 Outback. We shall see......
  • goneskiiangoneskiian Member Posts: 381
We went for a walk in the snow today and watched a chained up double decker flatbed tow truck struggling to get up the hill just outside our complex. Also, we helped a little CRX who made it halfway up the hill get turned around to head back down (no chains). At one point we had to scramble out of the road as an Outback came cruising up the hill like it was dry. She said, "OK. I'm sold." ;-)

So, when will I be able to pick up one of them GT Limiteds?

Dinner was cool. No product info yet, that's tomorrow. I'm lobbying hard for the Crew, networking with some important folks that should benefit us all in the long term.

I'd like to wish everyone on the crew a belated happy and healthy New Year.
Susan's first chemo session this past Friday went pretty well; took about 2 hrs and she needed to take an anti nausea pill only on Saturday...since then, no nausea at all, though she has a bit of a sore mouth and is losing her taste buds (one of the side effects)...this is a tragedy as she loves chocolate and had some last night...no taste!.
Anyway, gotta run to my first class; now looking for a full time Social Sciences postion as my eligiblity came thru last week.
