My brother had to cancel his order for the Subaru because there would have been a 5 week delay in getting an Outback Limited XT in the color combination he wanted. So he bought a 2020 Mercedes GLC instead in Silver with gray interior seating - MSRP was close to $47,500.

Keeping up with his car purchases is not an easy task! 😋

I think we have some of those in the fleet. I saw one that looked like this parked up close to the office where the lot guys couldn’t get ahold of it.

I like the color of that GLC. SUV's need bright colors so they stand out.

Additional, unneeded work? Any place may try that. I would think a dealer would have more to lose.

Well, I dunno about that. Back in September the ATS was due for its semi-annual service at the dealer. That includes a tire rotation or in my case (b/c the wheels/tires are a staggered size) removal of the wheels to inspect brake pads, etc.

After a few days I noticed a rotational "graunch graunch" sound from the rear at low speed when coming to a stop. I took it back and they first said they could not duplicate it, but admitted it was there when I demonstrated to them. Their diagnosis was that it needed a $135 "brake service" which is a caliper slider lubrication. I had that done by my tire shop back in the spring so I knew it was BS. However all I said was that the work had been done not long ago. Their response? "Oh, but these have Brembo brakes and we found that they need a special lubricant". Well, only the front calipers are Brembos, the rears are standard GM issue, so let's not even go there.

Today I had the car at the tire shop for the winter tire switchover. They laughed when I told them the story. When I left there with my winter rims mounted there was no sound. The dealer had somehow managed to screw up remounting the rear wheels, and then was too busy trying to upsell an unneeded service to fix their error. Shameful.
Yeah. We have one similar to that one here. Most dealers here, believe it or not, are pretty fair as far as additional, possibly unneeded, work is concerned. Expensive, but they don't add on stuff too much.

If you are totally clueless about cars, I don't know. I'm only partially clueless.
Maybe it is just me, but I don't trust garages or dealerships very much. If service managers get commissions, and dealerships want to increase their profits.......we the customer are pretty much at their mercy. My BMWs had 4 years of maintenance coverage, but whenever I went in for warranty work or "free" oil changes, they always recommended I needed something extra.

Now you know why Mrs. j just had to have that color on her Subie but it has to have the beige interior too. If that Benz has a black interior it's just a wannabe nice looking car. :D

That wasn't the case at all. Once Mrs. j saw me looking at a Subie dealer in @venture's neighborhood that had that color and then when Son #1 found that car at a local dealer, she wouldn't let me alone about that car. She was just relentless until I bought it for her. :p

Looks nice. Really low miles. Think guy is a curbstoner? Would it matter? Not many photos. Does have a licence plate on it. Why sell right after getting a new engine, tires and brakes? If everything checks out...new lifetime warrantied engine, probably get it for $6,500.

I got a phone call from someone claiming to be recruiting for a company and that he is calling me because I was recently on their site looking for job opportunities. I told them that the last time I was online looking for a job was over 12 years ago so thanks for the prompt followup. Then I hung up.

Snake, that was my fault. This guy needed an accountant for his company, the job paid $200000 a year, so I told him to contact you. :D

Nice area there in Anaheim. Downtown Disney is a nice spot. I've never been to the park, but my hotel room overlooked it!

Spent a decent amount of time there for trade shows at the Anaheim convention center.

There is a restaurant nearby we used to get taken out to by vendors. Amazing views.

Lexington, KY recently got electric scooters from two companies. Only took 2 weeks for first death on one, probably not the last. Not supposed to be on sidewalk but all I have seen were on sidewalk. In my opinion the 15MPH max is too fast for sidewalk and too slow for street.

Loaded baked potato is $10....I can get a whole Bourbon Chicken Dinner at Dennys for that! Most restaurant meals cost me what the starters cost!

Anyway, I bet the views are tremendous and the food sounds excellent, 4 out of 5 stars on Tripadvisor. Btw, be interested to see a Dry Aged Tomahawk - 48 oz $135

I was involved in a high speed police chase today. :o

Well, not me actually. We were traveling down I-87 coming back from Burlington and were just passing Glens Falls when a white SUV passed us on the right at high speed. As it was dark and rainy we speculated how long it would be before he crashed or was pulled over.

Right on cue three state police cruisers with lights on sped by on our left. About 20 miles later two more cop cars flew by. What the heck was going on?

Later on the radio I heard a news report of how someone had committed a strong arm robbery at the YMCA in Glens Falls and the police had chased him down I-87 into Troy.

Exciting to be in the middle of all that. :s

Same here, congratulations to both andres3 and nyccarguy. Nothing gives you more happiness than seeing your kids progress in life.

My friend is a Hebrew teacher who tutors a lot of children. He has tons of funny stories.

Never took my kids to DisneyLAND but we did get to Disney WORLD in Florida back in 1995. Looking back I think they had more fun jumping on the bed in the hotel room.

I’ll be home to Vermont Tuesday or Wednesday to the forecasted frigid temps with snow. So winter begins:(

We dodged the bullet on snow last night but Tuesday we might not be so lucky. This is too early too lose all my fun cars.

Hey Snake, what’s you opinion of a car like this seeing it’s basically a Sonata. I know you're keeping yours but would you buy one if you didn’t already own it?

Looks nice. Really low miles. Think guy is a curbstoner? Would it matter? Not many photos. Does have a licence plate on it. Why sell right after getting a new engine, tires and brakes? If everything checks out...new lifetime warrantied engine, probably get it for $6,500.
The owner living outside the U.S. would be a big red flag for me.
    Sure would Didn't notice that.
You guys are too suspicious. Read my response to his post.
