My friend in high school had an orange with black interior Ford Maverick. We called it the Halloween machine. He ran it through the side of a neighbor’s garage trying to show off in a gravel alley. Awkward
Now, let’s see if Kias are as reliable as all the ratings sites say they are. Hoping no paint issues (I know they had problems with the color yellow initially).
Yes, the yellow was the initial problem color but later on other shades were also problematic. It's odd in that I never heard of other Kia models with paint issues and I presume the Stinger is built in the same plants.
Personally I would not hesitate to buy a Kia on the basis of the product, but with them and Hyundai it all comes down to the quality of the dealer. Some of the old bottom-of-the-barrel outfits still remain part of their network in some places.

I’m sure that buffed right out.

I parked next to a Bolt at Sprouts today. Seemed appropriate.
after looking at the X3 today, I really had an urge to trade in the RDX on one. The problem is, 2 more years on the TLX lease.
if something happened to that now (saw it got totaled) I really think I would cash out of the RDX into an X3 or loaded Santa Fe to have the wife covered for the next 7-10 years, and go bottom feeding for myself. maybe another toy. Just need something to be in the garage for when I need to run errands when the wife is at work. But the new car would do all the travelling, and be the one that we take when we go out together.
something like the Integra I had for a while would do. I doubt any car I would get would do more than 1-2K miles a year, so does not really matter what it is. Maybe a PU of some sort. Or a car from my younger days I always wanted (that 1985 Celica calling my name?). But would be fun to look.
or, cruising the lease apps and forums and snagging something like the Ioniq for $215/month for cheap transportation!
wife definitely wouldn't go for the Bolt. Well, she wouldn't go for me picking up a $250/mo payment. I've gone through so much trouble to eliminate payments. I know it would save fuel ... but how much, really? My rough numbers say about $77.50/mo. (1000 miles/mo at 26mpg in either of our SUVs x$3/gall is $115 vs approx 4 miles/kwh, or a total of 250kwh/1k miles x0.15/kwh for $37.50). Granted, I have solar, so my kwh cost is actually way less ... in theory

well, in my plan, we basically become a 1 car family. The wife's DD that is also the car we take out when together, and take on trips.
that leaves my car in the garage most of the time, and I use it alone when I need one during the day when she is not home. So realistically, not getting more than 2K miles per year. If that. heck, my TLX and the Sonata before that, only averaged 7K/year, and that was as the primary car we always took when going out. So 2K might be optimistic! So based on that, gas mileage is probably the last thing on the list to consider. Really could be the perfect time to get a PU. Maybe a 1985 El Camino! As long as it is cheap.
Pretty sure I have said it before, but my LS V8 Sport was a nice car, very quick, but ultimately kind of boring, and not very good on gas. It was like a cross between a 540i and Accord.

I thought Ford was going to eventually offer the manual transmission with the V8, along with "continuous improvement" of all the things that are discovered when a new model is introduced. Instead they eliminated the manual altogether at the first refresh and did away with the LS itself a few years later. Still, it had a 49/51 weight balance, lots of aluminum bits to keep unsprung weight down and what I considered a pretty pleasing appearance. It handled well, for a heavy car (I've owned an MGB, two Miatas and a 240Z). Anyway, it was the only car I bought for myself that was made in the U.S., and I'm pretty sure it was my last.
If I saw that on the road I’d swear it was a Sonic. Getting a lease for just first payment is pretty good. Around me all the ads quote monthly payments with $3000+ up front.

For some reason I found the X3 seats uncomfortable on long drives but that was a year or two old model so maybe they are different now. The new 330i seats are terrific. If you want a cheap PU you should consider a Nissan Frontier. Very basic but does everything a truck should do.

of course. they always want to advertise a low payment. I love the ones that are like "$37 per month! ..... $6995 down plus taxes, tags, fees, more taxes, more fees, spit polish, paint protection, nitro wiper fluid .... "

I'd much rather have my Tacoma than a Frontier. Or the new Ranger.

Silver Gray is less impressive in person, than in those pictures. My wife's '05 330i convertible was the same color combo. Not as nice as the earlier Steel Gray.
I'm still on my original clutch, and steering rack.
Had all the rest of that done, with the exception of the oil pan gasket.
Also, mine has had the full cooling system replaced, not just the expansion tank (though, that is a definite weak point).
Looks like it's in great shape. It drives nothing like an M3.
Ignoring the puffery, of course. I don’t want it to drive like an M3.
I know you’re not a huge fan of that color on the ZHP - I just like it.
My other concern points would be the rear subframe, water pump and radiator, and front control arms.
If it is in fact going on BaT I bet it brings close to $10k just for being a 4 door.
I read an article somewhere that the sweet spot of a particular range of car models is one step down from the top; for example, a Mustang GT PP is a better all-around car than a GT350, ditto for the M240i compared to the M2C.

Went to check out the Picasso exhibit at the KMAC museum downtown with a friend today. We parked at the Ali Center and there was an X6 50i M-sport in a bright blue color parked near us with temp plates. My friend thought it looked nice--she's shopping this year, but not in that price range.

I buy that concept. works for mainstream brands too. performance cars, the last 5% (or whatever the increment is) costs a ton usually. On something like a camry, you are getting stuff, not performance, but very often the extras you get going from say an XLE to a Touring (or at Honda, EXL to touring) are pretty minor for a still significant cost bump.
I just have no interested in the added maintenance, complication, and price premium associated with the M3. Not to mention I’d never fully appreciate the power up here.
For the E46, the ZHP is really a sweet spot.

It has been a very busy weekend for me. I worked on Saturday AM, then drove home. On my way home I stopped at the 1st rest area on the Merritt Parkway in CT (doing my best to help Our state’s economy via the gas tax) and filled up. Drove home & picked up my 13 year old who had a game near the CT/RI border. Drove there & back. This AM, my 10 year old had a game about 30 miles away. So far 275 miles on the Tacoma since 1:00 yesterday afternoon. There’s still one more game to go. My 13 year old has a home game (about 5 miles from home.)
It’s been a long day. Some kid punched my 10 year old son on the handshake line after the game. My kid hit him back (which is what the officials saw) and I think he’s going to get suspended by the league for 2 games.
