    MB is a 300SL roadster. It can be a 7 figure exotic now, but then was a $5K high maintenance used car.

    The wagon is an AMC of some kind. Beside it looks like a "buttress" style 69 Galaxie 2 door HT like I posted a couple weeks ago.

    Yeah, that's why I described it as not exactly the glamorous part of town.

    I remember watching game shows on TV in the '70s and occasionally a prize would be a trip to Vegas with accommodations at the Fremont. That must have been disappointing.

    I can't make this anything but a Mustang fastback, probably a '66, with a gt350-type window behind the door. It has no other gt350 aspects (side stripe, trunk badge, etc.)

    those sewer pipes coming out the side, were not stock.

    I can imagine that thing is deadly to drive on that snow.

    The rear wheels are larger in diameter and width than the fronts. That was
    commonly done to handle the torque in the day.

    Hard to tell whether the Mustang is a '65 or '66. i think there's way to tell from the gas cap.

    Aside from the side glass the biggest GT-350 clue is that big side pipe, an option on the Shelbys. That said I doubt it's a GT-350, those didn't all have the big fore and aft stripes but they all had the rocker striped w the "GT-350"

    In the NYC pic I posted, I put it up because I was intrigued by the beak-nosed '71 Montego, a car that wasn't particularly common even back then and which is almost unseen these days. I must have gotten used to that front-end treatment as I like it now whereas I did not at the time.

    That Mitsubishi Colt was actually sold here when new - not just a grey import - but it was marketed as a Colt Lancer with no mention of Mitsubishi from 1973 to 79 - this one is 1977 but Colt Lancers were sold as such until about 1981/2 and similarly we had the Colt Galant, Sigma, Sapporo and Mirage.

    This 1977 car has a different grille from the first ones we had and they had frequent facelifts.

    We also got this version of the Mitsubishi Sigma under the name Lonsdale in 1983/4 - it was the earlier Sigma but assembled in Australia and sold to UK to bypass quotas - ironically the Sigma had already been updated by this time and we got the old Oz one and the by then Mitsubishi badged Sigma using the new Japanese built model from 1984



    Lonsdale was a separate make here and not sold through Colt / Mitsubishi dealers

    We never got that here, but we did get the wagon for a few years, incredibly rare now:

    We then got the Galant for MY 1985, but they sold in small volumes for some time.

    The newest car readily visible is the yellow/black Mercury ca. 1955MY . The far side of it are a couple of cars w mid-50s wraparound windshields, everything else seems to be early 50s/late 40s.

    That Mercury is a Montclair, 1956. The 56 had a continual side trim with the zag in it and Montclairs
    had the shadow color trim sections below the side windows. I loved those cars when I was 12.

    Our Lonsdale was also offered as an Estate - I think I saw one once but they must have been rare.
    Lonsdale was the name of the suburb of Adelaide I think, where they assembled the cars

    Nice pic, rainbow of cars. I see a couple 57 models. Old car might be in the left row, to the right of a Chrysler or DeSoto with its trunk open - could be a 41 Chevy coupe.

    The white over red car parked on the left nearest the corner represents one of my eccentricities. It is a '57 Chevy Bel-Air 4-door hardtop (sport sedan). I always thought it was far better looking than the much more popular sport coupe. Simply better proportioned.

    Indeed. If their story is accurate (I have no reason to doubt it), that seems inexcusable on the part of the NPS after 47 years of operation by the present management.
