    So because of the chip shortage and cover I have to build and order a car. The dealer is saying that I should receive it by Dec/January but not certain. They obviously don't know the applicable numbers until the car arrives. if I order how can I protect myself from receiving inflated numbers and bad deal?

    You ask us just before the car arrives, and we'll give you the numbers for the program in place at the time.

    However, you want to negotiate the price now - in writing. Even if it's just MSRP. Once the car arrives, you lose all leverage.

    Hmm, this is the way it's listed "Range Rover Velar S P340 S 3.0 Liter Turbocharged 6 Cylinder Gas MHEV Engine"
    I was thinking since it's a mild hybrid it might bump that residual up a bit but that's probably wishful thinking.
