Wife loves Telluride—prices seem totally out of control. Every dealership demands I come in before I can get a price. They all claim they are selling like hotcakes. Found one GM who would give me price over the phone. Said he could go $2500 over MSRP (which sickens me as a guy who hasn’t paid over invoice for year but I know these SOBs have us over a barrel with supply and demand.
Was going for SX X-Line but that’s about $51K (recommended MSRP is $49,285. Seems to have most of everything. GM told me had another option to consider—he’d just bought back a white fully SX Prestige X-Pro from older couple who turned it in because wife wanted Mossy Green. It’s a CPO they put a mere 700 miles in four months. The window sticker is dead on and the CarFax is squeaky clean. He said he can give it to me for $59K with taxes and all fees (I can try to squeeze free floor mats and cargo net).
He’ll sell me any car for that $2500 over MSRP, honestly doesn’t care just thought of the loaded one (he gave me other bits of info about the trade in that were too off the cuff to be a pitch). I have the lock ticking with insurance taking car from impound Thursday. I NEVER TOLD HIM I WAS IN ACCIDENT FOR NEGOTIATING TACTIC (not desperate but I am). All cash buyer too.
Never imagined paying over $45k for a midsized SUV other than an Audi (mine Q5 has held up since 2010 with 70k. What do you guys think? Don’t have time test drive and play the BS dealership fake back and forth (wife has cancer and aside from injuries from roll over and three spinal fusion surges it’s just too much). I like what I read from Mazda CX-90 but wife vetoed it. Pilot doesn’t do it for me based on research. Might test drive Hyundai Palisade but they seem to have a lot. Over phone was told $500 off MSRP which is still “just” $5K over the loaded Telluride or $2-3K less than the Telluride SX at $2500 over invoice.
I’m sickened at pricing but not paying lease with $5k down. This next car is gonna run into the ground. What sayeth you wise men?

We don't know the trims, etc... get the one you want. The Palisade is virtually the same vehicle, just slightly different styling.
