Maybe in the Mustang but not the truck.
Interesting thing about the truck, I started it the other day and got a “speed limited to 80 mph.” notice on the dash. After some YouTube sleuthing it turns out that if you use a duplicate key that hasn’t been programmed by some special Ford magic you get limited speed and some other systems like the radio might not work. When I use my regular key, no problem.
I think the Honda dealer gave me a key they made up themselves. Cheaters!☹️
Note: I just realized that you nailed my all time top speed I ever did on I-87 50 years ago driving my buddy’s 67’ ex trooper 440 Plymouth Fury.

My brother had a couple of keys made for the F250. He went through the programming procedure and verified that all four keys (two "originals" and two new ones) worked. A couple weeks later, he hands me a set of the new keys before I headed north with the truck. I couldn't unlock it! After some choice words, he goes through the reprogramming again, and this time it stuck. I was a little nervous about it, given the recent not working, but did some testing about twenty miles down the road just to verify it was good to go before continuing to trek further away. It was fine. Still is fine.
I am still not sure why he couldn't spare another key so I could take two. LOL

Speaking of built-in nanny features on cars, Harry Metcalfe just reviewed the new Toyota Land Cruiser. It has an automated speed warning that reads/knows speed limits and dings when you exceed it. He was driving through town which has a 20mph limit and it was dinging away when he recklessly drove 21 or 22. He said it was difficult (maybe impossible) to turn it off. That would drive me nuts. I dunno if that is a U.K. or EU thing or not. The odd thing is that it weighs 5500lbs and has a 200HP diesel 4-banger so it is quite slow.
Our two vehicles show the speed limits in any area on the dash but leave it up to you whether or not to observe them. Handy when you are in states with different limits than yours.
In our VWs and I think the Audi, show the speed limit but also allow you to set a speed warning..which I never use. Similar to the speed alert that setoff a loud buzzer in older cars if they had that feature.

I know the Acura displays a speed limit sign. Saw that today! I think the Maverick does in the Navigation but won't swear to it. Will need to check if the native Navi has it, or if it needs google maps.
also, this is nothing new. Our 1969 Volvo (with a ribbon speedo) had a red plastic slider that you could put at the speed you wanted to not exceed. Very low tech. The audio portion was a parent telling you to slow down, going too fast.
and in HS, a friend's father had a big Olds (I think an early downsized model from the mid-70s) and I remember that having an alarm when it hit some speed (probably 55)

Maybe he should have driven through roadburner’s store. They could have the arrest and trial right in the showroom.😂
Well they took the car in on a trade with the expectation that they would wholesale it out. If that's the case why do an inspection? I have traded in cars with 200k miles on the clock full well knowing I was going to get very little and that they would just wholesale it. Other than a quick lookover there really wasn't much of an inspection.
If they were upfront about that and sold it as is then they buyer is pretty much stuck with it.

Maybe I’m coming from my NY experience where a dealer wouldn’t be able to sell an as-is car wholesale without a warranty except to another dealer. I know that other states do allow that.
Sometimes though dealers can be pretty sneaky. When I was looking for an old style Ranger a dealer in NH was pretty cagey about the condition of one he was selling. I asked about rust and he said he wasn’t in the habit of crawling under trucks to check. Finally he admitted that the last foot of the bed was rusted right off and that he was looking to sell it wholesale but only if I towed it across the street first so he didn’t get arrested for selling an unsafe vehicle on his lot.

These days, they are trying everything possible to get you to bring your car in for a check up.....so that they can nail you for something.
I had several Gong Show (Small Claims Court) case where the plaintiff had bought a car as-is and then complained when it broke down a week later.
It sucks so badly when that happens, but it does happen, and often there's no way the seller could have known that such a failure was that eminent. Now, when the seller does something to intentionally deceive the buyer, such as sabotaging a warning system or disabling a sensor or the like, that's a whole different story!
