The money factor is marked up the maximum allowed. The acquisition fee is marked up by $300 (every Mercedes dealer does this). The $1697 is probably insurance products you don't need.

I can't align with the dealer numbers. If I use the selling price, I get $748/mo plus tax.

Ask them for the adjusted cap cost for the quote, and how they arrived at that number from the selling price.

The marked up MF is adding about $25/mo to the payment.

Your payment will be dependent on the discount you can get, and whether or not your dealer tries to mark up the MF.

In general, starting with a lower MSRP will give you a lower payment.

When the money factor is calculated, it is halved, to account for the lack of dividing by 2 on the other side of the equation

I'm sure you've heard of multiplying the money factor by 2400 to get the equivalent APR? That's why it's 2400 and not 1200.

Thanks for your help, leasing is confusing, attached I have laid out the deal as they have it structured. When I ask others, they say they have it calculated incorrected. That I shouldnt in Illinois have my taxes as part of the cap costs.

Taxes are absolutely part of the CAP cost in Illinois, unless you are paying them upfront.

To be clear, the state collects the tax upfront, but when you roll them in, you are essentially borrowing the tax amount from the leasing bank.

You should add all costs that you aren't paying upfront to the CAP cost, before calculating payments (or sales tax). I'm not positive, but I think you pay sales tax in Illinois on the total lease cost, not just depreciation (so, your tax number might be higher than your calculation)

The destination charge is part of the MSRP, and should be factored into your residual calculation. The number you apply the residual percentage to is the total MSRP, including all options and destination charge

Every lease has an acquisition fee. Mercedes is $795, but almost every dealer marks it up to $1095.

The monthly payment is taxed in Florida. Any CAP reductions are taxed upfront.

No, discounts aren't taxed. CAP reductions are taxed.
