Since my F-150 is just sitting there waiting for the rim to be repaired, I've been thinking about what I like/don't like about it.
It looks great, sounds great and fuel mileage is great(21+ lifetime).
My wife doesn't like the seats, I'm not a fan of the steering or steering wheel or the 3.31 rear gear.
Found a black(not my favorite color) XLT Powerboost with 302A that has me thinking.

It would be cheaper to just swap in a 3:73 rear end. My truck has a towing package that includes that. Probably only cost a thousand or so. I know it makes a difference in off the line for my little V6.
You would also need access to Forscan to tune the computer. The speedo would be off and most likely the transmission wouldn't shift correctly without inputting the proper rear end spec.
The dealer could do that easily while installing the rear end. My Ford dealer reprogrammed everything for me when I did upgrades to my car which included modifying the shift points.

The GLI is back after 70 days out of commission. I’m working on my DV and loss of value claims right now, and then it will be gone. The VW certified shop did immaculate work and you truly cannot tell any repairs were made anywhere. It does have a dinged carfax so no avoiding the history though.

It still drives phenomenally and will be a great car for someone!

The biggest reason an accident diminishes value is that the next buyer doesn’t know how well it was fixed. You do, so why not keep it as a spare or better yet sell it to a friend or relative who needs a good set of wheels and doesn’t care about the CarFax ding?

Ooops....just see deal was closed on a grey one. Nice!

My favorite pearl white was Toyota’s Blizzard Pearl. Just enough flake to not look ivory. My 2006 Avalon had it

I DO like that pearl white I’ve seen on Camry recently….especially with the black roof!

21+ is great. The new Ram has seen a high of 20 and right now is at 18.9. That's about 1.5 MPG better than my 2022 with the 5.7.

The expense of that is a transmission and programming that causes some really odd low speed drivability issues. It really is clunky at partial throttle and then lifting off. Shifts to second way too soon and third even sooner. When you back off it jerks and sometimes bangs back to 1st. I have to say I'm not utterly happy at this point. Even my wife said the other night "what is wrong with this truck"

I need to get it to the dealer and see if there is a re-flash available or if there is something wrong. I called my local dealer about 2 weeks after I got it and they gave me a bunch of crap about not wanting to deal with it since it was so new and the selling dealer should handle it. Now that it is nearly 4 months old and 4K miles maybe they will take it without a song and a dance.

It is really a shame about the low speed issues, because when you get into it that beast really scoots. It never feels low on power.
It is really telling when a dealer pushes you away just because you did not buy the vehicle there. Very poor and short sighted.

Yeah, I wasn't very happy with it. I know they can't turn away warranty work. I was driving and didn't have the VIN so I didn't push it. I was supposed to call them back with the VIN and schedule but with the wife down the shore I would have had to get an Uber back home so figured I'd wait until Sept.

The closest Toyo dealer to me has a metallic grey Camry with red interior sitting right in front of the dealership. Very sharp. That one won't last long.

Guy I do PT with just bought an Integra....white with red interior. Very sharp. It's new and this is his first Acura, so he says he LOVES it. Looked inside and although the drivetrain is Civic, the interior is quite different even though it has Civic bones. Wanted to take me for a ride, but I was in a hurry. Took a rain check.

Sad that the TLX is going away. I was really looking forward to seeing a new one. Maybe somewhere else down the road.

Apparently the Integra is not longer for this world either. Automotive News reporting today that Acura is going all S/CUV and all hybrid.

Honda announced the new Prelude today. Apparently a rebodied Civic. C&D had pics here: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a65972130/2026-honda-prelude-revealed/

Not bad looking on the outside. Reminds me of something I can’t quite put my finger on. Interior looks like tarted-up Civic pieces. Comes in the standard 5 paint colors these days: white, black, gray, bright blue and red.

I know, of course, but I was hoping for more than 200hp. “Geared” right, it still might be fun. I know the CRX and Civic Si of the late 80’s early 90’s had a whopping 108hp and they were more fun than they should have been.

I was delivering a car to a Chevy dealer today and saw that they had two Corvettes in the showroom and another right outside the front door. No window stickers on any of them so I couldn’t tell if they were performance versions or regular spec. Still it seemed to be a lot of Corvettes hanging around. Are they not selling well?

Unlike classic Preludes the new one has small rear windows and thick rear pillars, which will mean poor visibility out the back and large blind spots. There's a similar problem in the current Acura Integra.

I assume this was a ride share. Do they let you sit in the front any more? I know during Covid they restricted the riders to back seat only but I thought that rule had been relaxed.

My son’s 2010 Fusion which he currently uses for LYFT is aging out of eligibility so we figured the easiest thing to do is just swap titles and let him have my Kia. It has a pretty good rear seat but I wouldn’t want to go three across.

Yesterday we were given a Silverado as a chase vehicle and we sat three across in the rear. I was surprised at how much room it had.

I like that new Prelude too, if nothing else then for nostalgia for the name.

It’ll be interesting to see how it sells - it appears to be little more than a 2 door Civic hybrid, so the styling will have to move people enough to give up the more practical and presumably less expensive Civic…and that may be enough.

I get the sense this particular dealership is happy to buy back certain vehicles from a customer shortly after the original purchase, in hopes of selling it again at a premium. This being a manual, I imagine they can indeed get some premium.

Having said that, it's been listed for several weeks now. But they seem to be patient.

Watching the review and some reading the prelude is almost a type R With the hybrid power train. Might work!

Speaking of hybrids we just got back from a 3 night vacation for our 40th to Vermont. Took the maverick. About 220 miles of mixed driving (but no real high speed highway) and it overall got 48mpg. It loves rolling country roads in the 45-55 range. And Vermont specializes in those.

Many DV quality issues may not be immediately apparent even upon close inspection, but will reveal themselves in 3 months or 3 years. Peeling, flaking, bubbling paint and other defects in finish, for example.
