enjoy though. should be a fun decade. Getting all the kids out of regular school, and (at least mostly) through college. That to me is when " can I retire?) really becomes a legit question.

My wife has been driving her GLE 450e (PHEV) longer distances lately and noted she didn’t love the way it drove once the battery was all used up (hers still uses the 4 cylinder gas engine; the new 2027 will use the 6).

So we did a little switcheroo today for a GLE 450.

Agreed - I don’t think I’ll ever give up a full EV for my primary driver.

Although with the recent visits to our Mercedes dealer, I am currently obsessed with this…

It is indeed. It just really caught my eye sitting in there in the showroom in that gorgeous blue. I really appreciate the E-class since we had that E450 wagon a few years back - one we shouldn’t have let go.

I don’t know why I didn’t bother to take a pic of the front, but here’s one of the back:

Having spent some time in the MB showroom recently (something I didn’t mind at all!), I really appreciate the current look of the C-class. I even found myself at times unsure whether I was looking at a C or an E, only because the C had so much presence.

Looks clean from the limited photos. Not much maintenance history on the Autocheck. I think side airbags were optional on the LX and uncommon on that model year--I'd confirm in person whether it has them.

I was going to do a full paint correction and ceramic coat through a detailer, but figured I’d try my hand at it myself. Used a DA with microfiber and wool cloth heads with Meguiars rubbing compound and Meguiars polish. Then I used a ceramic spray until I have time to put a real ceramic coat on it.

Turned out maybe 70-80% of what I’d hoped for from a professional. All that’s left is the bumpers and roof which I’ll do next weekend probably.

I did manage to pay off my 2022 Highlander sometime last month. I dropped it off at the dealership tonight because the sunroof won’t close all the way. I had a very similar problem when the car was under warranty way back when. Toyota is also running a buy 3 tires get 1 for $1 promo. I know my cross climate 2s are getting on the low side. So it might leave the dealership with new shoes too.

It was in Santa Clara, CA (Bay Area). I decided to ship it in the name of expediency but I did think briefly about flying down and driving back!

I wouldn't be surprised if they match it if they can. Service writers earn commissions and a tire swap is a nice easy job that will most likely yield a good survey.

That's what I am hoping for. I'd rather give my guy the commission and buy the tires there as it just makes my life easier.

I'll have to double check. I want to say 50K miles. They aren't shot, but will need to be replaced sooner rather than later. If I can save a few bucks by replacing them now instead of in a few months, then why not. The OEM tires barely lasted 30K miles, so I am happy.
