I find it off that you have to pay for Maint? I am retiring my 96 Audi A4 and have never heard of paying for oil changes while in the warranty period.
Thoughts? Please!
2006 Volkswagen Passat Sedan ("0" Package)

Interior Color: Black Leatherette
Dealer price: $21,895 (includes freight)
Processing Fee: WAIVED
MD TAX - 5%: 1,095
MD Tags (est): $225

I prefer base style(21000), and how about this offer? Help if you have some experience on it! Does any expert tell me what's major difference between base style and 2.0T which need to pay 1000$ more.
Thanks!
Lux Pack #2 = Sport Package - I am only looking at #1.
Here's what I was quoted @ two different dealers for essentially the same car. Can anyone give any insight as to how good or bad this pricing is? Dealer #1 will not even give me all of the information that I requested about the lease (selling/lease price, residual %, money/lease factor). I asked for that info to be disclosed but it was "conveniently" missing from the quote. This has soured me from wanting to buy/lease a VW. It's unfortunate because I really enjoyed the cars.
Thanks for any feedback!
Vehicle #1 @ dealer #1
'07 Passat 2.0T Sport Pack 2 w/Dynaudio & Nav (brand new)
- Lease x 39 mos @ 15k mi/yr
- Price @ $468/mo
- $0 down except tax, tag, registration & 1st payment
Vehicle #2 @ dealer #1
'07 Passat 2.0T Sport Pack 2 w/Nav
(This car was a demo - one of the managers put approx 3200 miles on it. They tell me that since THEY have to pay for the miles that the car already has, MY payment would increase by $21/mo. This makes absolutely no sense to me. Sounds like they are rolling that into the payment.)
- Lease x 39 mos @ 15k mi/yr
- Price @ $489/mo
- $0 down except tax, tag, registration & 1st payment
Vehicle #3 @ dealer #2
'06 Passat 2.0T Luxury Pack 2 w/Dynaudio & Nav (brand new)
- Purchase price @ $26,312
What is the MSRP on the '06? Over $30K?

I thought that VW had extended it's 0% APR program into January for the '06 models but I am being told that it ended 12/31/06 & is no longer available. I would think that the dealers would want to move these cars off their lots quickly & that they might get some help from VW to do so. Any thoughts?
Once you decide that buying the '06 is the way to go... bargain hard.. maybe they'll drop it some more...

OTD is $ 23178.0
Apart from the package 1 the car is equipped with Mats.
Any idea - if its a fair price ? I am in NJ.
I'm also interested in buying 2006 or 2007 passat.
Could you introduce your dealer for me ?
Thanks~ :surprise:
I think it is not a good deal... ANyone help me ? Introduce your deal if you have a great deal. I can go there and buy and bring it....~

$25,730 - MSRP w/Destination
$23,332 - No Haggle Price from Dealer
This means a $2398 savings from MSRP to sales price. I'm thinking that's pretty fair, but any thoughts? Prolly too late but I'm curious to hear.
Options I added:
$310 - Rear Side Air Bags ($350 MSRP)
$199 - Heated Front Seats ($225 MSRP)
$120 - Mud Flaps (Port Installation) ($160 MSRP)
+ Tax, Title, License & $99 dealer service fee
Now all I have to do is wait!
MSRP: $35620-- Selling Price: $33820
Lease Term: 36 months -- 15K miles
Monthly Pmt: $553.00
Down Pmt: Zero
Sales Tax rate: 6% included in payment amount
Money factor: .00185
I would appreciate any thoughts on this.
I love it..it handles great, and very quiet on the highway, you can't tell how fast you are going without looking at the speedometer. Very quick, espically with the manual, the turbo is great. I love the roominess of the inside, as well as the quality finish. Couldn't be happier. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Again, many thanks!
Apparently the glovebox has a vent you can open up that will in effect heat or cool the compartment with whatever air temperature you have currenlty set the climate control at. So it could be thought of as a mini-fridge or something. I don't find it that useful, but then again, it's snowing around here, so I'm not sure.
I obviously recommend taking it out for a test drive, everyone has different tastes, but I love mine, and it also handles great in the snow. The standard ESP is a great safety feature that would have been extra on a camry SE which I was also looking at.
let me know if you have any other questions
I also forgot to mention the space factor. I'm 6'3 and love the fact I have so much room in the drivers seat, and if I have people in the backseat, they aren't cramped at all. A huge trunk and overall feel of luxury I feel are second to none for this price range.
The 'no-hassel' price is 25153+TTL. It is little bit over our originial budget but the dealer didn't give us a lot of space/time to bargain .
So far it feels great to drive this car, very spacious and driver friendly. The throttle is not very responsible at low speed, but on the highway, the turbo is very powerful and smooth. I am happy with it
Will there be any kind of Problems in Passat at 113000 mi?
How may Miles would these cars run without any problem?
I want a car Which would run for atleast couple of years.
And can I get any kind of extended Warranty for this car?
Please reply me
what color were you looking at?
Yes, the tax difference does account for roughly $500. A $2000 factory incentive is supposedly accounted for in that price and it's been 5-6 months since you bought yours. I think I should be able to do better as well. Also, it seems that MT is not very popular according to the sales people I have talked to. Wouldn't this mean that I should be getting an even better deal though? Was this your experience? One sales manager told me that that he's giving me this price because no one wants a manual.
In terms of color I don't have a huge preference, but they seem to have a lot of white. Whatever keeps the price down(other than green) is fine with me.
Did you have any extra options on yours? How is the car so far? Any issues arise yet(rattles, other)?
Don't believe the things he says about a MT. Yes they aren't popular, but yet VW still makes them. I would advise looking at surrounding dealerships and finding one that has a couple manuals on the lot. When I went to get my car, the dealership I bought from had the exact car I wanted, and then the next closest dealership had 2 of them. We felt no pressure to buy at the first place, other than more convience, and they met our price and didn't try to BS that much (they are car dealers after all).
I wouldn't think color affects the price at all. I have a black one and absolutely love it.
I have no extra options on the car, it is the bare bones passat, which is plenty for me. Rims and the sport package would have been nice, but that adds another 3-4k to the price based on how they package the accessories.
I love the car so far, it's got alot of power, and I'm averaging 28.5 mpg in mixed city/highway driving. Plus I'm 6'3 and am able to fit more than comfortably driving. I don't even have the seat back all the way.
Let me know if you have any more questions, I'm happy to help as best I can.
Thanks for the good word....too funny...I was just on here and happened to see my name...! I don't sell cars anymore...I am now a stay at home mom and have my own cake business! I really do miss the car business though! Although I can't take the hours with my family being more important! So from time to time I look at forums and try to keep up with the latest!
Sincerely,

got this quota:
2007 Passat 2.0T, Mocha with Package 1
MSRP: $27,440
Special Internet price: $25,650 plus tax and license
OTD: $28,135.23
How much should I offer?.. :confuse:
Base Price $29,956
Destination 640
Package 1 2,970
Rear Air Bags 350
Port Prep 407
Sub-Total $34,323
Less Passat Incentive $ 3,500
Less Loyalty Bonus $ 1,500
$28,973 + TTL
Two specific items would be interested in:
earlier post menitoned $5K Passat incentive, salesman claimed it didn't exist, but later emailed me it was $3,500.
also, wtf is a port prep fee, is that just for red headed step children like me??? :confuse:
any insights on the 4motoin incentive, is it $3,500 or $5,000?
Your target price should not reflect anything other than the difference between MSRP and Invoice. And not paying Port Prep twice...
BTW...Is the Black Bass Hotel still great???
